Hello everyone,
My SIM card is a nano SIM which I have in the upper SIM slot. However, I want to use a SD card, so I moved the nano SIM to the bottom slot with the help of a nano to mico SIM adapter. For about 2 days, everything was working fine, but then the battery started draining extremely fast. Looking under Battery in settings, it is always "Android Core Apps" with Included packages: "User Dictionary, Contacts Storage and Huawei Contacts" that is causing the drain. At this point, Mobile Data also stops working, although it is turned on. If I then switch off the phone and remove the SD card and take the nano SIM out of the adapter and place it in the upper SIM slot, everything is back to normal. Any ideas?

I guess there are a few things I could try:
Get a proper micro SIM, and not use an adapter
Convert from dual SIM firmware to single SIM firmware
In my mind it must either be the actual SIM card I am using, or some hardware issue.

I use micro sim and sdcard. I don't have battery drain issue. However there is one way you might be able to get battery life. Convert the preferred network to 2G when you are not using mobile data. I know this may sound old but it can slow down battery drain.

I'm trying to come up with a solution to add wifi to my vogue without loosing my storage, does anyone know of either a bluetooth wireless adapter that works with the Vogue or of an SD or MicroSD wifi card that also has storage? I've found an adapter for microSD to SD and already measured it and it should fit with the extended battery cover with the OEM battery.
Has anyone accomplished this? and how did you go about doing it?
You are basically screwed on wifi. You can probably set up a BT pan though at home.
There is a wifi micro SD card but very little testing has been done. The card would stick out of the slot probably 1/4" if not more.

I've seen that, but having something stick out isn't a viable solution, which is why I found a microSD to SD adapter that will fit between the stock battery and the extended battery cover, this does work using the spectec SDIO wifi card, however I then lose my storage card. I've been looking into the eye-fi card which doesn't support AD-HOC I'm debating about picking up the 2gb version and attempt to hack the firmware to get it working but I was hoping there was a bluetooth wifi adapter I know they exist for palm but I haven't found one that works with ppc.
If anyone would be willing to help with trying to get the eye-fi 2gb+wifi card working on ppc that would be great.

What are you talking about with the microSD to Sd adapter? You are basically screwed if you want wifi & have 2 options.
1. Dump Verizon & stich to AT&T
2. Get the Omnia or Touch Pro from Verizon.
Let me guess you don't have a data plan with Verizon

No, I have Sprint and I have an unlimited data plan however it would be nice to add wifi especially since I'm now living in an area that sprin't doesn't have service in so I'm roaming on the verizon network and the data is slow as all hell.
looks like that wifi card is your best choice, you might try accessing your storage card via internet? Or just carry it around with the card...
and if you carry around a camera(I doubt you do): http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...st=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960

I was wondering if there was a wifi card that operated throught the vogue's accessory slot, you know the one on the bottom...

Not sure what you mean by the accessory slot? Are you referring to the mini USB? At any rate the answer is no.
Hi, I have an HTC HD2 with android NAND NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9G NAND. Have no sd card recognized and can't activate my wifi cause give an error. I was really mad about this problem and I notice there is no solution for some guys like me, so now I found a trick to solve it and maybe you find it usefull.
1. Turn off cellphone.
2. Remove SIM Card and SD micro card.
3. Turn on. Active the "only 2g network" in settings.
4. Reset, and keep the back cover open.
5. When turn ON, go to settings again and enter the sd card settings. There is no info cause there is no sd card insert.
6. As the back is open you can now insert the sd card. THE CARD SHOULD BE NOW AVAILABLE.
7. Go to activate wifi in wireless connection settings. For me is working.
8. Now active the Airplain Mode. And turn off you phone again.
9. Extract the SD microcard. Put the SIM CARD. Leave back cover open.
10. Turn ON. Deactivate Plain mode. Now you should get call signal. But again no sd and wifi
11. Repeating step 6. Go to SD card settings and insert SD card.
12. Try wifi and SD card. ALL WORKIN.
I hope it work for you. Please forget for my english.
Hi Shingo, hi all!
Finally somebody with the similar problem as mine...I was browsing and searching all over the net for the solution or workaround but without any success!
And it starts to drive me completely crazy!
Well I have HD2 with "CORE Droid 1.3 NAND" Android, and my main problem is something as yours but not exactly the same.
In my case, I CAN turn on WiFi after rebooting a phone, and it's working flawlessly UNTIL phone goes into standby. After 10mins or so (obviously after phone goes into complete sleep) when I wake up the phone I can see that my WiFi connection is gone and I CAN'T turn it back on cause it gives an error which you can see in Wireless settings (WiFi - Error).
Then, because of the obvious reason (wifi's not working), or maybe something else, all the apps which are depending on refreshing it's data from wifi (push mail, maps...) are force closing, starting with Google Services Framework, Maps, Beautiful Weather Widget...
I wanted to try your solution but if I pull out SD card and SIM card my phone doesn't even wants to boot up. Obviously because it has some crucial data stored on one of the partitions on SD card.
Another thing is that, if I pull out SIM card and boot I can't change anything in network settings...?!
I'm really not an expert, but maybe your Android NAND build is so much different than mine, so I can't apply your fix/solution...
If somebody else has an idea or maybe a possible solution, or even an advice what to do I would be so grateful!!!
Thank you all in advance!

Hrvoje
Hi,
Just an update to my problem. Yesterday morning I've cloned (formated ext and copied) my Kingmax 16GB SD card to spare one I have which is also 16GB in capacity but from SanDisk.
I can confirm that from that time I didn't have either force closing apps or WiFi errors.
I don't know if somebody will find this information useful , but it saved me from my despair! I was really going crazy.
Since I'm using NAND CORE Droid v1.3 which has some of it's data on ext partition it even make sense that better/faster/just-another-brand SD card makes such a difference.
But, as I said, I'm just a noob here....if somebody has another opinion or suggestion, it's more than welcome
Thanx
I have problem with two of my Huawei's P9. On the first sim card slot, internet connection via 3G, hspda, lte and everything is very very slow and it happening that my battery runs down very fast... (50-0% in ~6-8 hours)when on the second slot, everything works fine ? I tested it on 2 the same phones, the second one i bought exactly for test cause i thought that the first one have broken slot ?What do you Think guys? What should I do ? I tested on B120, B130, and i have B130 version on two's models :/
Never had this problem.
Is there 4G in your country? I believe 4G uses less power than 3G, and in Advanced settings, you can check your Consuption level in Battery manager, it might something app-related. Was bootloader unlocked, modified or installed some third-part kernels, xposed or other stuff?
Greetings,
Before I start asking the questions, let me introduce myself first. I've been using lavender since ±8-month ago. I've installed custom ROMs so many times and already know the procedure. I've also explored the famous network band locking on the Qualcomm devices, because band 41 really bad in my area and i need to lock it at the band 03 for a stable connection. By using the Network Signal Guru (link), i've been able to do something like that.
Yesterday, i bought a new Micro SD card. I didn't know that this phone uses hybrid on the first slot, so i need to change my sim card to the second slot, and micro sd on the first one. After changing the sim card, the Network Signal Guru CAN NOT lock the bands anymore, i've changed ROMs a couple times, also tried formatting the data, also tried to clear forcing. still no luck. On the settings, the phone read the SIM card at the second slot, maybe this is the problem since Network Signal Guru wasn't able to lock the second slot without pay the "Ultimate Feature". I am just a High-school student who doesn't have a job, so i can't afford to buy the feature.
Today, I got an idea. Instead of buying the feature, maybe i can make a changes inside the system so that the phone scan the second slot as the first slot.
Or maybe, i can make the dual SIM feature to be disabled (Source Thread) but i think this method will disable the second slot instead of the first one.
If anyone know how or know where are these files is, i hope you can tell me by replying this thread or contact me at telegram
Thanks for the attention, Peace~
SOLUTION
Use Cellular-Pro or QCT Modemcaps app instead of NSG.

Hi everyone,
I've got an Junsun V1 Pro head unit with the latest firmware (8259P_军灿UI02v1280x720-国外_v50_20221226) installed in my car. Now I‘m facing an issue with my sim card for the car. When I install the sim card the first time everything works as expected. Internet is working and connection is 4G (even VoLTE). But when I turn on the head unit after standby, the connection is reestablished only with 2G (at the exact same location). The sim card is from sim.de and is operating in the O2 network and as multi card.
Tested with klarmobile sim card (Vodafone network): Every time 4G
Tested sim.de sim card in Huawei Gigacube: No problems
Checked and adjusted APN settings: No effect
Disabled VoLTE: No effect
Changed setting between 2G / 3G / 4G: No effect
Are there any known issues with Junsun and the O2 network?
kind regards
Markus

I'm using the same firmware and today I ordered an O2 SIM. I will let you know if I will run into the same problem.
You could try after sleep mode:
Disable and enable mobile data.
Enable and disable flight mode (maybe via search function in settings app).
Does it help to bring 4G back?

No, unfortunately not.
Yesterday I tried to increase the pressure on the sim and added a small piece of cardboard. It worked the whole evening, even after standby. But today it stopped and is back to 2G.

Unfortunately my SIM card still not arrived so I can't tell you if it works on my device / with my O2 SIM.
I can't imagine that it's a topic of bad electronically contact because the issue only occurs after sleep mode.
One possibly could be to compare the units processes before and after sleep mode.
1. Stop all apps to avoid unneeded programs occure in the list
2. List all processes running
3. Put the unit in sleep mode and wake it up
4. If you only have 2G list all running processes again
Maybe a service doesn't comes up after sleep mode which is relevant for 4G data connection.
I added the SIM card today and two reboots were required to get 4G.
I put the device into sleep mode (just a few minutes) and had still 4G.
Let's see how it is after a long sleep...

It works (not always).
This morning after wakeup the head unit displayed "no sim card" on the bottom of the mobile data icon in status bar.
After reboot it worked fine, so it was not a contact problem of the sim card holder...
I found this:
Post in thread 'Auto-toggle SIM card (e.g. with Tasker, adb shell)' https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...g-with-tasker-adb-shell.3656963/post-73482775
This may be an approach to disable/enable the Sim. If you're willing to test I can write a small app doing the job.
After serveral days usage I have exactly the same issue:
After (longer) sleep only EDGE or even message "no Sim".
Changing mobile data settings or changing to flight mode not bringing back 4G. Reboot is the only way to get 4G again.
I don't think it's hardware related because it works after reboot without touching the Sim card dongle.
I will investigate the Android log. @the_moom you may want to do the same?! Four eyes may see more that two.
I compared the running system services after sleep and after reboot. Found no difference...
So next step is to check logcat...
It may help to restart the RIL daemon...
adb shell stop ril-daemon
adb shell start ril-daemon
I will test this tomorrow...

Restart of vendor.ril-daemon-mtk isn't sufficient.
