Battery life on 7.0 wasn't that good. What I did do was delete chrome Gmail and Google maps. I replaced with javelin browser outlook and here maps.
I'm also using Bing instead of Google. I am now getting better battery life than what I was getting. Anyone else tried this?
Probably helps that I'm using tupacs debloated ROM as well

If you are going to use Bing and Outlook, just get a Windows phone then.

I have disabled GPS, and gone into my location access settings and ensured that facebook cannot make use of my GPS, but for some reason the app is taking 71% of my battery. When I click to see more details on the facebook app, I can see that under GPS in "use details" it says 1d 6h 48m (the same time my device has been on for).
If I have disabled GPS, and even force quit Facebook, how can it be taking up so much of my battery?

i use the facebook app with no issues...
Uninstall and reinstall?
Also you can use the data usage setting to disable background data by specific apps.
uninstall and never ever go back to Facebook?
that's going to take care of the problem.

The browser is 10× faster than the app, without this "oh something went wrong" .. Even with this "better" update..

Really?
I've never had a problem with the facebook app, on my S3 or Nexus7. I can easily get over a full day on both. Twitter too. Have you tried a different app? Like Seemic?

Hey. Got my Nexus 4 running 4.4 yay.! I thought there was supposed to be a new messenger app. I still have the standard Android messenger and it works fine as best I can tell. Could it be because I've got Google + and Hangouts disabled? I had it disabled when I updated. It's really okay with me I wasn't looking forward to the change. I'm just curious why I didn't get the new thing.

Excellent probably means Google play services will suck even more of my battery. I use Google+ to backup photos otherwise I'd delete it

I use the app very much and have never had a noticeable drain in neither use nor for non-use. Greenify looks wonderful. But everyone as he wants, so no one is forced to use the app. Personally I do 1000 times better than the FB garbage
I think the new design is very interesting.. I'm excited to see how the other GApps are going to look like. For me it's very interesting that they removed the navigation drawer..

Now if only Google will get some consistency on a UI standard across their Google products. Every damn app has a different ui lol. What is the Google design team smoking over there? Lol.
Hehe yes, it's true but on the other side it's good to see they update the apps and the most updates are good updates
Hangouts , G+ are fine now , Gmail i don't use but looks ok. Maybe in the future we see a package of the apps that visually harmonize

I wish. One thing I love is consistency. The one thing that Google lacks. I think each app has its own team. They need to collaborate for a collective ui.

I deleted both my Facebook app and messenger, and I had much better battery life for a few days. Now however, my sot is barely at 2 1/2 hours again, and my top usage is chrome. It's pretty frustrating because I stopped using Facebook altogether, and in still having poor battery. I think chrome is not letting it doze. Any of you guys have had the same issues?

Are you logged into Facebook on chrome and using notifications? What I do is just log into Facebook each time I open chrome and close the page when I leave it through recent apps. If that's not the issue you could try clearing all data for chrome and then clear phone cache.

I can try that... I'm thinking about using one of the other apps to access Facebook instead, but I bet I'll end up with the same issue again

The phone looks like is entering doze to me. Do you have root? You need to use an app like BetterBatteryStats to properly investigate the cause of your drain.

My battery is a bit naff too, I deleted Facebook ages ago, had enough of that thing.
This radio bug though. How do you get rid of that mate? Or even known you've got it ?
This is just normal run of the mill days for me.

Yeah I think I'm hit with that bug... I have not found a fix for it, and many articles mention that marshmallow was supposed to fix it... I wonder if a custom rom would fix this... This is the first phone I had that I have yet to root, and that's because I like having the monthly security updates...

yeah from what i've read there is no fix. not sure if even a factory reset would fix it.
Some people recommended downgrading to the 2.15 radio which i did last night so i can't say whether it got much better yet or not.
Also, you can still take the updates while rooted. its very simple to do yourself or there is a tool call flashfire which does it for you now i think
