Still waiting for SM-G360V root...... - Samsung Galaxy Core Prime Questions & Answers

I'm beginning to get frustrated with this one. Need help!!!!!

oh please ,you can download kingroot(not kingoroot) , on my g360f it works fine

Well it didn't work on my g360v.

Rooting sm-g360v
Yes you can root this phone i just bought one and rooted it with KINGOROOT but use the pc version it has shown to have more success and you may have to try a few times as the program i think trys different methods.......although i am going to warn you if like to customize your phone and flash roms through twrp and you got the phone from Verizon (which i think the sm-g360v is correct me if i am wrong) the bootloaders are locked so rooting it would be pointless bc as far as i know nobodys been able to find a way to unlock the bootloaders....which is why i quickly got rid the phone and went back to my old one.

Try King Root 4.9.6. (search kingroot xda in your search engine choose newest build) xda dev gatesjunior has an app on the playstore called SuperSuMe if kingroot bothers isn't your cup of tea

I got it rooted with 4.5.2 kingroot but it was partial so I had to unroot it now it just restarts and doesn't hold root.

Very cool thanks for the heads up.
Anyone tried this? Just curious im already rooted just maily would like it to unroot.
sent from LG Dare lol
It worked great for me, I rooted with it, tried a few root only apps...then I unrooted with it to see if it works, and it worked...then I rooted again so I can use those root only apps.
worked for me. painless, and quick. total time....less than 5 minutes.

Really Works? The Rooted Apps too?
Does this really work and do the rooted apps function? Why does this work and the bootloader has not been cracked? Cunfused....
And now there's this too.
I cant seem to get this to work. I downloaded the file, went and clicked root me and it just sits there. How long does it normally take
If that's all you did, then you need to reread the instructions. I'm sure it clearly states to toggle Bluetooth or wifi. I don't want to burn anyone but in my opinion, if you can't follow instructions maybe you shouldn't be rooting your phone.

will we still be able to use the one click method to root our phones after we have installed OTA update Froyo 2.2 from verizon in September. I have not rooted my X yet because the only thing i need it for is wifi tether and adblocker, i dont really need the custom ROMs. will i still be able to do this once my phone has received the update, if not will they develop a root for phones that have been updated via OTA
sorry for being such a noob thanks for your help

You cannot currently root a 2.2 device (unless you upgraded with that update.zip to 2.2 and moved SU), but I m sure that it will come sooner rather than later
universal androot
Im using universal androot and have my phone rooted, which i believe is the same thing as 1click root will i still get the ota in September with root on, I hope i have not posted in a inappropriate place I just was curious.

I tried universal androot v1.6.1 and it was a no go, seemed soon after installing toolkit it kicked me out. I did the update.zip so i'm up to 2.2 now. Gonna try the droidx root in the first post see if that does it.

theres no way to root a 2.2 device yet, u have to root in 2.1 first then move su around and then move it again once upgraded to 2.2

this is incorrect. you can root your 2.2 Droid X with this method: http://www.droid-life.com/2010/08/26/droid2-rooting-method-works-for-droidx-running-froyo/
worked like a charm on first go for me.
My speaker on the back of my droidx is blown i need to take it to verizon. How do i get rid of superuser permissions app in app drawer? I rooted with universal androot. I was told you have to remove it first then unroot. So i looked for it in app manager to delete it but its not there. I tried unrooting it still not there. Rooted it back still not there. Thanks for ur help.

Root for Galaxy Tab 2 for Sprint SPH-P500.

Hello everybody I just wanted to let you know that I finally rooted my Galaxy Tab 2 from sprint. I used Kingo Android Root to root this bad boy. I installed Titanium Backup and it worked like a charm. Now I am going to install the xposed programs as well wish me luck.
How is this solution working for you?

i would suggest using something a little less malwarey to root. kingoroot and vroot have been shown to install backdoor libs on your device. i would recommend cdyia impactor.
actually if youd like to help out, seeing as you are now rooted i could help make recovery and a firmware restore package for this device so everyone could have root no matter what updates come yalls way.

I am looking to root a stock Sprint Galaxy Tab 2.
Are there any step by step guides or one click options?
I did look on the Kingo website but did not see the device listed.
Thanks

I also have an SPH-P500 that was just rooted today with Cydia Impactor. Bootloader you say? Any way I can help?
Cydia Impactor worked like a charm for me also.
I was able to root (Thanks!), I am trying to now find my MSL. I tried getmymsl, MSL reader, and getprop ril.MSL with none of them working. Sprint has not given after two phone calls. ANY app or suggestions on reading the MSL for the Galaxy Tab 2 ?
Thanks

[Q] general help and understanding

I will soon be getting a samsung galaxy g4 32gb phone from att. I want to know the best way to root it and remove the bloatware mainly att stuff, without bricking or messing up the phone. I love the ability to root i did with my on sony xperia play. Unfornately the last phone i had a lg optimus g crash and burn after rooting and trying to remove bloatware. So I want to make sure I have no problems. I heard it was easy and simple to do with a galaxy line but i just don't want to mess it up i can afford buying new phones.

Root alone doesn't block the OTA. In fact, going from MF3 to MK2, you could first root with jortex's method (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2387577) and enable survival mode. Then after the OTA, you will still have root.

If you're using supersu there is a full unroot method in the apps settings. Look there.

I rooted that phone with kingo root through the computer. Bloatware on the I removed bloatware with ROM toolbox pro however when trying to do ota update it looked for the bloatware and when it didn't find it ota failed. (looked that up in the failed log - hung on not finding chaton) flashed mk2 rom then only froze the bloatware. have to see if the next update will fail I don't think it will though because when I only froze bloatware on mf3 I did get the mj9 ota update successfully

Need Root Exploit for Gingerbread 2.3.6

Hi XDAians, I am new here, I need help. (I have experience of Android since Android 1.5, I am new on XDA)
I have Samsung Galaxy y GT-S5360 and I have rooted it using hnkotnis's SGY Toolkit.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50182901
Now I want to do something different. I rooted my old HTC Gingerbread phone with PC using USB with Root Exploits.
I used Root Exploits "psneuter", "Gingerbreak" & "Zergrush". None of them seem to work on Stock Gingerbread 2.3.6
I asked my friend Senior Member hnkotnis few days ago, he said he has exams. But now he has gone for a holiday vacation and his phone number is out of coverage area.
Please help me and give me WORKING root exploit. AND I don't want advices to use some Recovery zip.
My requirement is specific usb adb root exploit.
Thanks in advance for help.
waiting.............waiting...............waiting for help.
each phone has a different method of rooting - there is not always a one size fits all and not all phones can be rooted in the same way
you have already mentioned the common rooting tools
if there isnt a forum for the phone you want to root then its best to type into google how to root - xyz phone
I dont see the point in making an adb root for galaxy y when a simple update zip does the job

I want Root Exploit, not Rooting Software.
It seems you misunderstand me.
That Root Genius is a exe which is bundled with some Root Exploit. If you have that exploit or know how to extract it, please tell me.
And I know that USB Debugging thing. I have rooted more than 50 phones branded, chinese etc.
I dont need instructions of root. I want root exploit.

Simpler Root Method

I just got my Z3c over the weekend, and since it was working perfectly on AT&T with LP 5.0.2 I was reluctant to do the whole downgrade/unock/relock/root/flash/upgrade/etc. root method.
Fortunately the latest version of Kingroot will root the phone with OTA Lollipop upgrade working and unlocked bootloader. I have 23.1.A.1.28 rooted without even having to enable ADB or do anything but install and run the Kingroot app.
EDIT: Editing here by request on this thread. There is another thread on this forum dealing with Kingroot in detail. Some suggest that the Kinguser app transmits the phone's IMEI and this introduces some risk. For me, I managed to get rid of the Kinguser app and install SuperSU instead. My phone works fine, rooted, with SuperSU (which was installed via recovery/flash method). I have no comment about how risky Kinguser app is, whether anyone is trying to steal something from you, or what your risk level might be with Kingroot method. Buyer beware.
I would say, if Kingroot can do this without the downgrade/unlock/relock/upgrade method then so can non-KR devs.
Does it work with a locked bootloader?
We already have a thread about Kingroot: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/kingroot-4-0-t3105593
It's not being stickied because it's a very shade rooting method, very little is known about how it works and what more it does behind the scenes except for rooting. And Kinguser cannot be replaced by SuperSU by any normal, conventional means.
Yes, it worked on my phone with a locked bootloader.
Sorry for the confusion. I didn't realize Kingroot was such a bad thing. It's also very difficult to remove.
FWIW what I did to get rid of Kingroot and the Kinguser app (which is the real beast to remove) is after rooting with KR, I installed the dual recovery and then flashed the pre-rooted LP from TWRP. That totally eliminated the KR and etc. so if anyone has taken my potentially bad advice and rooted with KR, that's how to undo and retain root with SuperSU. I still think it is easier/simpler than the "tried and true" method of rooting for those who have already upgraded to LP/5.0.2.

IMHO someone should update the sticky threads. This is a much simpler method to get rooted LP on your Z3c. Just upgrade as usual and then root with Kingroot. Couldn't be easier.

Its not so tricky to root with giefroot. Just downgrade, root install dualrecovery and flash pre rooted lollipop. Thats all. Personal i dont trust kingroot. Nobody know how they do the root and there are always discussion about some data sending to servers. But its everyone choice

followed the method in the first link, worked perfectly.
Super-sume on the play store does that with one click to remove kingroot
1) I suggest you change the title or just close this thread
2) I suggest you install a clean new stock firmware through Flashtool and root it via Giefroot ONLY (I know downgrading is boring and a bit harder, but that is still the safest method)
Kingroot is the simplest method, maybe not the most safe.
Giefroot is the longest, maybe the most safe.
Both of them have the same effect, root the phone.
No need to close the thread, I don't care Chinese developers need my IMEI to root my phone..
So if you agree with this idea, where is the problem? We are free to choose if we are informed to that.

I can't see any information about risks inside the OP of this thread and that's the only post a noob usually reads!
Please search the meaning of the verb "to suggest": it's not imperative and gives freedom of choice.
In this case, this one already exists :

[ROOT ANDROID][2.x-5.0] KINGROOT: The One-Click Root Tool for Almost All Devices
Maybe, I suggest to close all double threads(or seems to be)... I suggest to all noob peoples to keep all questions for themselves... Great for a forum ! ?
Don't feel assaulted, just I think to ask a same question differently gives another answers, it depends who is asking and the point of view.
But you are right for the risks with IMEI.
We don't know if there is a risk or not, but it's just my opinion. ?
I think to help and share experiences are the good way.
✌
Rooted with kingroot, installed dual recovery and removed kingroot/kinguser with super-sume app (on play store).
All these steps with locked bootloader and last LP firmware
