Alright so my phone is super bricked have the black screen with no lights basically like its dead. only way i know its not is because i can plug it into the pc and my pc makes the connected noise. pc also only recognizes it as the Qualcomm HS-USB QDloader 9008 driver and not the phone anymore. i can hold the power button for around 15-20 seconds and pc makes the disconnect noise not sure what thats about. ive been trying everything i can think of to restore it with no luck. wondering if anyone has a fix for it maybe. much much much appreciate it.
Can you get to recovery? Home, power, and volume up. I think my S4 did that once. I think I was able to flash stock firmware by going into the bootloader by volume down, power and home button. Odin saw it and successfully flashed the stock firmware. However, screen never worked so I had to send in for warranty replacement. But by flashing it and seeing it was good in Odin at least I knew they wouldn't see I had run custom stuff on it, lol. Good luck!

I can't go to download mode or recovery mode . It scews me
if you have no way into download mode your screwed. Look for different ways into download mode and see if you can get it

If you forsure cant get into download mode ask T-Mobile for a exchange. It is very easy to complete and since it happened after an official update you should have no issues completing the exchange
try pullin battery. plug phone into computer. hold volume up and volume down. put battery in. prest-o change-o you should see an android w/exclamation point in a triangle. if this fails a jig from skorpion(I believe that is his name) might help, just fyi ur vibe is probably 99% un-brickable.
Try to connect ur phone to pc & if you' ve seen an icon phone+pc+!, your in download mode..odin can read it..or you can simultaneously hold vol up + power to get into download mode

i've never tried that.
nope it dont work.
I recently had my S4 (FW 4.22) locked up at the "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue ..." screen and couldn't do anything to fix it (Kies didn't work).
I could enter the downing screen, but using Odin and the stock roms I'd saved, did nothing.
So I had to take it to a repair centre to have it re-flashed for a fee.
I asked the guy what software they used and he wouldn't tell me, but said it was "Samsung's own".
BS probably, but that was his answer.
If I ever get my phone totally locked up again, what software should I use to unlock it/re-flash it ?
Is Odin the software they would have used or there something else ?
Thank you.
use samsung kies. power off your phone. after 5 seconds, press; vol down + home button + power button simultaneously until you see a display in your screen. then, press vol up to go to Download Mode. plug your phone to your PC and wait. just read some of your options on your screen.

Thanks for your reply.
Kies, didn't work for my at all. Even when the phone was in downloading mode.
I followed this guide and when I reached no.5 I was unable to enter my model number.
Code:
http://www.droidviews.com/firmware-upgrade-encountered-an-issue-solution
Trying Win 8.1 (current working system and a clean install of Windows, plus Win7 on a laptop), various USB ports/cables.
Nothing worked.
After I got my phone fixed, I tried Kies again as a test. I couldn't get it to work. Kies said the phone couldn't be initialised or something.
To flash firmware - Odin, and they'd likely use RIFF boxes/similar for other stuff (re-writing IMEI's/etc).

Why do you think that one of the service centers or Samsung will give you software or information
The software and JTAG that samsung own are not for public use.
You do see the odd person pop up offering this service and the are usually service agents for Samsung.

I was just thinking if I had the name of the software.
I might be able to find a leaked version online and not have to waste time and money in travelling to a service centre, should the need arise again.
I think you will need the USB dongle as well as the software to force a flash, not sure if the dongles are available, maybe try eBay
Thanks

Thanks. Yes they available, example:
Code:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Micro-USB-Jig-Dongle-Download-Mode-For-Samsung-Galaxy-S4-S-IV-I9500-I9505-LTE-/271278474484?pt=US_Other_Cell_Phone_Accessories&hash=item3f297504f4
They just appear to allow you to enter download mode.
I suppose if you can already access that mode, there's no point buying one.
Hey Guys, Im sorry for the newbie question but I have a Samsung galaxy S4 thats stuck on the ATT logo and Im trying to reload the phones stock ROM onto it.
Ive gone through and wiped out all the cache and set it back to factory settings but that hasnt worked. So Now I have found my stock rom to upload it and ODIN cant communicate with it with the phone in download mode.
I can get into Recovery mode also but for whatever reason, I cant get ODIN to communicate to it.
Any help is appreciated.

If you're on Windows the drivers should automatically install. Also make sure its download mode that you're booting into. Hold Volume down and power button while the device is off and press volume up when a screen appears. Happy Odin flashing

My stock S4(unrooted) with NJ4 firmware is totally dead. It doesnt go into download mode. Whenever i remove the battery and put it back on, It just shows Samsung logo and turns off.
Att Device Support center tried to reload the OS but he said it doesnt go past 20-30%.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Vinay
If you can't get into download mode you're sol. Try taking your battery out, then connect your device to your pc with Odin running. Then put the battery back in. Have the nb1 tar file ready to go in Odin if by chance it boots into download
