Hey Guys, Im sorry for the newbie question but I have a Samsung galaxy S4 thats stuck on the ATT logo and Im trying to reload the phones stock ROM onto it.
Ive gone through and wiped out all the cache and set it back to factory settings but that hasnt worked. So Now I have found my stock rom to upload it and ODIN cant communicate with it with the phone in download mode.
I can get into Recovery mode also but for whatever reason, I cant get ODIN to communicate to it.
Any help is appreciated.
You need to install the Samsung usb drivers

If you're on Windows the drivers should automatically install. Also make sure its download mode that you're booting into. Hold Volume down and power button while the device is off and press volume up when a screen appears. Happy Odin flashing

Whatever I press on screen, it just says: "Sorry! The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."

I've tried, but it doesn't work. I think the problem now is I flashed an OS that is not compatitable with the galaxy note.
Now i'm in deep ****, and i urgently need to know how to undo it.
-Download odin (pc software)
-Make sure all drivers for the note are installed
-Download stock rom (can be found all over xda)
-Put phone in download mode using vol down+menu+off
-Connect with pc
-Open odin
-Put the stock rom zip file under pda
-Start the process

how do you know for sure its not recognizing it in bootloader?
When I plug in my nexus I can't do anything. The hardware buttons don't work. I don't see anything in the drivers when I plug it in either.

Well, just to let you know, you haven't bricked it. Bricking something means you can't access the device what so ever i.e. it won't boot, won't go into recovery/bootloader mode etc. As to fixing it, I'm not sure. Can the device turn off and on? Have you got drivers installed properly (was fastboot and adb working before this happened)?

I am sure you tried every option , have you tried adb reboot recovery command, when u turn on phone, or adb reboot bootloader. If the manual way does not work, for example when device is powered off (volume down then holding power for 10 seconds). Let me know. Need more details.

Ok I'm trying that now.

So rebooting isnt the problem but getting into recovery or even getting my computer to recognize my device is what i need help with. The entire thing freezes when im in bootloader and try to plug into my computer. So i have to reset by holding down the power button. Ive installed and uninstalled drivers through wugfresh toolkit and nexus 7 toolkit.

That doesnt work either. The thing is, I can use the volume buttons BEFORE I plug it in, but as soon as I plug it into a computer the tablet freezes and i have to reset it.
So ive uninstalled all drivers including the SDK and reinstalled everything and im still stuck at the bootloader. Im starting to believe that its pretty much a lost cause. Can anyone help with trying to figure out what i may have to do now.
If you can get into the bootloader, you're not bricked, nor is it a lost cause.
Since you uninstalled them reinstall the drivers. Download the factory image (nakasi) from here, and then follow these instructions to use cmd and fastboot to reflash the stock ROM.
Ok I will try this.
Freakin love this site!!!
OK, so i now have everything up and running after about 2 hours of uninstalling and installing everything. Turns out that my cpu (or me) was duplicating the drivers. I feel dumb for that
So basically i reflashed my sprint lg g2 using the return to stock, did the OTA update and rooted. Then i tried to install recovery and now i have a bricked phone. Cannot enter recovery or download mode at all. both just frozen. tired to connect my phone to my pc and nothing happens.
tried all these suggestions and nothing. can someone please help?

Hi, i'm new and french so I'm sorry for my bad english
I have an Android LG optimus L5 II. I accepted the android upgrade (about 'applications') and now I can't turn on my phone; it's stuck on the 'SRF' logo just after the 'LG' logo. It works but don't start. Please, help me...
Is your phone rooted? And does it have cwm installed?
You may have bricked it but thats not a big deal, the first thing you can trie is to press volume down and the home button, and press power, as soon as your phone vibrates let go of the power button and keep holding volume down and home button. Let go after 10 seconds, your phone shuld factory reset, if it does let it boot. Leave it for 5 minuts on boot. If it wont boot after that, youll need to download kdz to your PC and flash the original OS.
Hope this helped

Thanks a lot for your answer!

- Hmm I don't think so(By the way I don't really understand what it means... but i haven't install any custom things or hack)
volume down and the home button, and press power,
- Volume down is the only dead button on my phone, I can't use it anymore...
I tried what i could but it still stuck on the logo....
Uh volume down is a very big problem, you cant go in to recovery or in to download mode to fix your phone.
You can fix all software problems by your self, but all buttons need to finction.
Im sorry to say you may need to go and fix your button befor you can fix your boot problem.

There's a guide for unbrick an LG L5, just google it
Edit: Sorry, I didn't see the "II", my bad. But you can try the same for your model.
Actualy just fornd out to factory reset it you just need hold vol up and vol down at the same time and press and hold power till the phone vibrates, but you still need the vol down button.

If you still have problems post here or mesege me.
At step 20, I don't have the "Select country and language" window: it opens the LG update tool but without anything,... I think i've done the previous steps correctly...
Make sure you installed the driver for your phone from lg on to your pc.

Ok, so I connected my bricked LG phone, then I started the 'Automatic Offline Procedure' and set "On" on the Windows Enabler, R&D Test Tool opened, I put the .kdz, click on "Normal Web Upgrade" then "Uprade start".
And the LG Mobile Support opens itself insteed of the LG Flasher, without possibilities: I've already download the drivers on this one: and now I can't see those drivers anymore if I remake this procedure (as you can see on my screen).
I've also downloaded "LGUnitedMobileDriver" for my phone just before that. So I don't think it's a driver problem ...
Where am I wrong?

Try it with one of theas links, befor you use them, re install mobile drivers, btw if you dont see mobile drvers runing or installed in programs see if thay show up when you enable LGmobile modem.
im not sure any of this will work i have the 1 l5 but it worked for me.

My stock S4(unrooted) with NJ4 firmware is totally dead. It doesnt go into download mode. Whenever i remove the battery and put it back on, It just shows Samsung logo and turns off.
Att Device Support center tried to reload the OS but he said it doesnt go past 20-30%.
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Vinay
If you can't get into download mode you're sol. Try taking your battery out, then connect your device to your pc with Odin running. Then put the battery back in. Have the nb1 tar file ready to go in Odin if by chance it boots into download
