Flashlight Toggle? - Verizon Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I recently unlocked my bootloader & installed the deodexed 6.0 Stock ROM by jkruse. I saw that he had extra_toggles.zip which provided the flashlight toggle for 5.0. Would this .zip work if I was to flash it on 6.0 or is there another place I could find the flashlight toggle?

I was just wondering the same thing! So I backed everything up and gave it a try - looks like nothing happened. Anyone know where to find a 6.0.1 version?
I did see it works in the toolbox, but would definitely prefer the 1-tap toggle!

ROM noob here, first post - Have several questions about Omni ROMs

Hello all.
I recently unlocked and rooted my Verizon Galaxy Nexus (the first time I've done this) and flashed this ROM to it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532320
The ROM seemed quite glitchy, the quick toggles were not working correctly and eventually one day when I tried to turn on my phone, it got stuck in a boot loop. I then flashed back to stock using the Nexus Root Toolkit. I still wanted a custom ROM, so I then flashed this ROM to my phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2427087
This ROM is almost completely working, but I have some issues with it. For example, some of the quick toggles do not work correctly. My data toggle does not change when I short press it, the bars just stay orange (screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/vpOgpBe.png) Could someone tell me what this means? Is it supposed to be like this? I would assume that short pressing the data toggle is supposed to turn mobile data on or off, correct? The quick toggle settings are a standard feature across all Omni ROMs, right?
I also cannot get an internet connection over data now either. My MMS messages have also not been working since I installed the Fork My Life ROM.
Some other minor issues I have with the ROM is that when I short press the location toggle, it will sometimes close the quick settings window.
Should I post about these problems in the ROM's thread? Are any of the above normal happenstances in an Omni ROM? This is my first post on XDA so please cut me some slack.

Maybe someone can answer your other general Omni questions, but yes, if there's bugs in an unofficial modified OmniROM, those should probably go in that ROM's thread. Is the bug caused by Omni or the modifications? Since it's not stock Omni, we err on the side of caution and go with it's the modifications.

Updated Radio - Sensors Not Working - Please Help

Like an idiot, I updated my radio not realizing that I needed to also check EFS (I think) to backup the radio. So, I use Mahdi rom on my VS980, and I've tried every combo of radio version (10b, 11a, 12a, 12b, 24a) with the versions of Mahdi based on the older and newer Kernel versions. I can't get any of the sensors working. So no camera, rotation, auto brightness, etc. What are my options here to get that stuff working?
Got my answer....

Actually I'd use one of the 24a bootstack zips in XDAbbebs thread or Malladus and then flash their ROM. Get the lock, then flash Mahdi. You'll be all set. What does the GA stand for after you flashed SuperSU?

Which custom ROM to use?

Hi guys,
I need to update my phone as my current setup is having Bluetooth issues - and I read it happens on Android 4.3, but is fixed in 4.4 onwards.
I need a ROM which allows the following fixes:
1) Bypass security settings on emails that require you to put a PIN/Password to unlock your phone every single time.
2) Remove messages from the call log. Not sure if this was fixed in the newer android versions but it was very annoying when I first got my phone. I only want to see calls in my call log.
Can anyone recommend a ROM which will allow these fixes? I don't need any other features - just need something as light as possible.
Cheers
Wanam Xposed has the second option, you can use it on any stock based ROM, at the same time Arya Mod is the best TouchWiz based ROM available in my opinion, but it is by no means light. About the first option, I think Arya has that too, but not at all sure.
Thanks mate, will keep that in mind if I cant find a lighter a ROM.
Does anyone know of a light ROM which will do the above?
CHeers
Temasek cm roms are pretty good.
Norma N5 Port V15, Phronesis V4.1 good, i tested. MinimalOS is very fast and light but need some apps for default messages, etc
Hi guys,
I just noticed Wanam Xposed has the option to bypass exchange security. Therefore, I want to find a light ROM which is based on Android 4.4 or higher, and has the ability to use Wanam Xposed. What ROM would I be best to use?
Alternatively, could I just install the newest stock ROM, and then root it and install Wanam Xposed?
Cheers

The last time i read in order for xposed to work on lollipop, it has to be deodexed. Try multiX by tkari4. It's the only KK rom left supported here.
Sent from my SM-N920C
I second Temasecks Rom. It's Great.
I'm using Pronesis Rom ported from Note 5.
I think it's good enough, there are a few bugs but everything works great. I would recomend you to use this rom.
ALEXNDR Roms are great too if you dont want a custom rom that makes your android look like nothing.

I'm using Dark AU rom found on Samsungviet website, very stable even more than stock imho. It's a Note 5 rom ported for Note 3.
This rom has none of the issues you've mentioned. If you want to bypass security try using google's smart lock feature build into lollipop. If you want to open anything from the lock screen you will always need to unlock

Upgrade from custom ROM to Android 7.0

Hi guys,
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but unless I am missing something, I have yet to find a thread or instructions on how to do this.
I am on Pure Nexus, but I posted here because I'm guessing the answer applies to virtually any custom ROM. What are the steps involved in upgrading from a custom 6.0 ROM to the newly released Android 7.0? Is there a way to do this while keeping root?
Thanks,

There's roms you can flash, other than that just wait for the images to release and there will be alot options
So if it's a custom ROM based on 7.0 I can go ahead and flash using that specific ROM instructions?
I thought the official 7.0 came out yesterday, that's why I was wondering if I could update to the official and keep root and how to do that.

I'd Mae a backup send it to PC and try tupac4us rom or digitalhighs . They have vendors built in the zip .
I was on Benzo rom and this is exactly what I did; I restored back to stock rom only leaving bootloader unlocked. I joined the Android beta and the N ota was ready to install. I then flashed the latest twrp. I made sure to do a full nandroid and physically backed up anything important to my laptop before I restored to stock. I noticed until I flashed ditialhighs N rom my twrp would not "stick" but no big deal I just flashed it and went into recovery. It seems Android Pay is working with digitialhighs rom, you just toggle off root, use it, toggle back. Good luck
Which guide did you use for restoring to stock while keeping the bootloader unlocked?
i was on pure nexus 6.1 i used this guide to revert everything back to stock then i subscribed to the developer program and got 7.0 update in seconds, section 14 is pretty much all you need

It works in latest RR and others. You must turn it on within settings -. gestures. If you flash a kernel that mess this feature up...

As strongst mentioned, it's under Settings. I'm running the 04/01/2017 RR build from Silesh (link here http://downloads.resurrectionremix.com/athene/RR-N-v5.8.0-20170104-athene-official.zip) on a XT 1462 (G4 Plus, dual SIM) as well, and if I go into Settings > Gestures, scroll down to the bottom, I find the fingerprint sensor as home button (see screenshot). Do you have that on yours?

You're sure that you running the mentioned version of RR or newer?
In addition to strongst's question about checking if you have the latest version (either 04/01 from http://downloads.resurrectionremix.com/athene/ from or the latest 16/01, found on Silesh's Google Drive - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B1ZbHDX3hq1yMjBmMEd2eWxvNEk), may I ask if you wiped cache/Dalvik (and possibly data too) prior to installing this version of RR?
I've just updated to the 16/01 build through TWRP 3.0.3-n1, wiped cache and Dalvik and the option is still there (plus it works well)
