Like an idiot, I updated my radio not realizing that I needed to also check EFS (I think) to backup the radio. So, I use Mahdi rom on my VS980, and I've tried every combo of radio version (10b, 11a, 12a, 12b, 24a) with the versions of Mahdi based on the older and newer Kernel versions. I can't get any of the sensors working. So no camera, rotation, auto brightness, etc. What are my options here to get that stuff working?
Got my answer....

Actually I'd use one of the 24a bootstack zips in XDAbbebs thread or Malladus and then flash their ROM. Get the lock, then flash Mahdi. You'll be all set. What does the GA stand for after you flashed SuperSU?

Hi Everyone,
I need a beta tester or two. You must have an I9020A.
I have created a CWM-flashable version of the stock ROM that comes loaded on the I9020A (2.3.3/GRI54) along with the stock recovery, radio (I9020AUCKB2) and bootloader (I9020XXKA3). This ROM is 100% factory, no root, not deodexed, etc. It is built in the same fashion as Google's official OTA ROMs for 2.3.3/GRI40 for I9020T and 2.3.4/GRJ22 for I9020T and I9023.
I have absolutely no idea if any of this stuff will work as I don't have an I9020A to test on. I have done 3 of these packages before (2.3/GRH55, 2.3.1/GRH78 and 2.3.2/GRH78C) for the I9020T (the phone I have) and have had no issues.
If you choose to beta test this, you will flash it in CWM and I'd like you to do a data/cache wipe as well as a dalvik wipe. Then I'd like to know the following:
1. Does the system boot.
2. Does the radio seem to be working (making calls, wifi works, 3G, etc.)
3. Did the stock recovery install correctly?
4. Did the bootloader install correctly?
After flashing this ROM package, you'll have to re-flash ClockworkMod after you verify the stock recovery installed properly. If the radio messes up, you messes up, you can flash the radio in this post which is tested and works.
If you're interested in beta testing for me, post in here or send me a PM and I'll fire the link off to you.
Thanks!
Any takers?

I'll give it a shot

There's already a full I9020A 2.3.3 stock ROM that I posted a month ago, along with the radio. I managed to update to 2.3.4 with it. I also made a full stick ROM for 2.3.4. I can dig up the thread later but it's also in the stickies above.
Hey there,
I am an active reader of this forum for 4 years now - thank you for all the information - and have a uncommon problem with my nexus 4,
yesterday i upgraded my purity rom to the actual build and have no cellular connection since then 8excuse me for my english right away)
What seems to be a trivila problem is kinda tricky (of course a looked a lot for possible causes and resolves in the forum).
the problem is: i have flashe the actual bootloader, radio and made a factory image flash and my nexus is working when on stock rom.
but when i flash a custom rom - i tried purity, psx and cm 10.1 - the cellular connectivity and in some cases wifi is gone. once i flash the factory image everything is fine again.
can you imagine a possible explanation?
one more information: when flashing the new purity update, i accidentally flashed not the current one, but the 2 month old version... but i allready made a clean-flash, wiping everything and flashing just the rom.
i'm on the most recent bootloader, radio und cwm-recovery
Any idea? Thanks in advance...
alex
update to latest recovery for either cwm or twrp its a common issue that many have posted issues about
hey,
it worked, reverted to an earlier cwm build and it works again. thank you very much
Iv already got a GPS lock when I was on xdabebbs ROM 3 different times. Then I clean flashed carbon and mahdi. Well in carbon and mahdi, if I hit GPS to see where I am, It'l Lock like 3houses down. So its kinda close. But when I type in an address to navigate to it, the GPS signal just gives up and says GPS signal lost. I even flashed the g2gpsfix.zip but no luck . but that zip works great on ROMs that aren't for 24a
Which version of Mahdi? Depending on the version (April release, beta release, or May aka Release 1) you need different versions of the baseband to have working sensors, rotation, GPS, etc.
If you are using a version prior to Release 1, you also need to flash a stock-based ROM in order to purposely configure the sensors.
IOW, you should read this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52568043
And then upgrade to Mahdi 2.5 Release 1, using the stock kitkat baseband.

Had the same issue. Installed CM12.1 but went back to 5.0.1 GPE: No GPS anymore.
Fixed it by flashing Stock Firmware with Odin, installed TWRP again and flashed my GPE rom again.
I tryed stock with Odin already.
Not helped

so i found another thread- http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/kernel-s4-value-edition-i9515-t3031044
which told me to download kernels, modems and other things in order 9505 roms to work.
tried it- but with no sucess.
BTW i tried to use this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-albe95-lollirom-official-1-0-t3049564
any help will be appriciated- THANX SO MUCH

psIII- i can use the phone only through PC- im using MyPhoneExplorer to mirror and control my phone.
Are you flashing a kernel right after flashing the ROM?

yes..
is that a prob?
edit: if i will flash stock, than kernel, and then rom- will it work?
Make sure the phone is running the latest bootloader and modem. Once that has been confirmed, perform a complete system wipe (system, cache, data) before flashing ROM, flash the ROM, and flash the kernel. Don't boot the phone out of recovery until after flashing the kernel.

thanks so muchhhhh u saved my asss
how do i check my bootloader & modem version?
I suggest flashing a stock ROM from here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9515/
Once that is done, you can flash TWRP from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/general/galaxy-s4-value-edition-gt-i9515-t3190176
With TWRP, you can create a nandroid backup. If you flash a ROM that doesn't work properly, boot into TWRP and restore your nandroid backup and start over.
Sometimes, you may fine a ROM that will work without further modification. If not, a custom kernel may be required.
What are you talking about? The first link you posted linked to various rom threads for the I9515.
There is unofficial CM13 for the I9515, also known as jflteve.
There also was an unofficial SlimLP..
Unofficial CM13
Unofficial CM12.1
Unofficial SlimLP
As you can see, there are some roms. No need to mess around with patchers. Unless you really want touchwhiz..
