is there a gps fix for aosp roms? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Iv already got a GPS lock when I was on xdabebbs ROM 3 different times. Then I clean flashed carbon and mahdi. Well in carbon and mahdi, if I hit GPS to see where I am, It'l Lock like 3houses down. So its kinda close. But when I type in an address to navigate to it, the GPS signal just gives up and says GPS signal lost. I even flashed the g2gpsfix.zip but no luck . but that zip works great on ROMs that aren't for 24a

Which version of Mahdi? Depending on the version (April release, beta release, or May aka Release 1) you need different versions of the baseband to have working sensors, rotation, GPS, etc.
If you are using a version prior to Release 1, you also need to flash a stock-based ROM in order to purposely configure the sensors.
IOW, you should read this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52568043
And then upgrade to Mahdi 2.5 Release 1, using the stock kitkat baseband.

Ill be straight to the point.. most of us have been using cm9 which is ics 4.0.0 since august 2012,each week, well sometimes every two weeks, since they are missing weeks. Cm9 is a nightly, which means there are bugs and issues, since teh rom is not stable. However, most of the problems have been fix and I have had not had any real issues with it, I do use it day to day, till a new custom rom (based off a previous cm9 nightly release) comes out that I want to try. but the roms has come a long way since build 1.
If something went wrong? like you bricked your phone. There is two ways.. create a back up in cwm before you flash cm9... or you can used kdz, which is used to recovery your phone if your brick it or you want to upgrade or download your firmware.
Also please give me more info about your phone. Like what baseband you are using, what country etc.
Also there are some stock custom roms, which are modified version of stock (2.3.6). With features like 1000 GHz overclock, new launcher, file manager and other useful tweaks/mods

Upgrade to the latest firmware using the Lg firmware site. Also make sure you do a back up when you install cmw, before you flash cm9. Also you might want to download the 1GHz Kernel, even if you dont plan to overclock, it will get rid of the battery bug on start up.

Updated Radio - Sensors Not Working - Please Help

Like an idiot, I updated my radio not realizing that I needed to also check EFS (I think) to backup the radio. So, I use Mahdi rom on my VS980, and I've tried every combo of radio version (10b, 11a, 12a, 12b, 24a) with the versions of Mahdi based on the older and newer Kernel versions. I can't get any of the sensors working. So no camera, rotation, auto brightness, etc. What are my options here to get that stuff working?
Got my answer....

Actually I'd use one of the 24a bootstack zips in XDAbbebs thread or Malladus and then flash their ROM. Get the lock, then flash Mahdi. You'll be all set. What does the GA stand for after you flashed SuperSU?

SlimKat 7.0 no rotation no brightness sensor

Hi,
Since build 5.10 rotation and light sensor are broken eventough I flashed the latest kk modded modem from this website. I would like to know if someone with a D800 and SlimKat over 5.10 have those two things working. If someone could post this in the SlimKat thread in development section which I cant as it needs more than 10 posts I would be thankful.
Thanks
Software forced rotation works but automatic rotation doesnt, its the position senser thats not working.
Maybe he has moved to new sources have you tried flashing stock kitkat modem at all as this is the obvious choice to me?!
Ok, I flashed the modded kk modem from xda thread from 4 april made to fix rotation and it didnt work. Now guess what? I did what you said and flashed original LG modem found somewhere in the 20 spet 2013 thread and everything worked! I wonder which one is newer.
Thanks!
Glad you're sorted. The stock kit Kat one is newer the modded one is just recently modded not created.

LG G2 w/ Cyanogenmod 11 , no gyro / sensor etc...

hi
i installed lastest cyanogen mod for my G2 but unfortunatly i found out that most of my sensors are disabled like the gyroscope.
any idea why ? anything i need to install ?
thanks
You need the proper baseband for CM11.
CM11 uses jelly bean sources so you need the 4.2.2 baseband. cloudyfa has them, search around in these forums or on Google. That will fix the sensors. Keep in mind when returning to a 4.4.2 Rom that you need to flash the 4.4.2 baseband..
(note: if you have the verizon lg g2 and you're using unofficial cm11 that's based on 4.4.2 sources, you need to flash that. Again, cloudyfa has a repo)
Last week there was a problem im CM which f...ed up sensors. Same problem in some CM based AOSP Roms. In this case has nothing to do with baseband.
Should be fixed now. Just flash newest version.

We hope that ?

What (newly) ROM should I install, given my setup?

Hi
I have G2 d802, with this ROM: CloudyG2 2.2. This is Android 4.4.2 The kernel is 3.4.102. Build number KOT49I.
I have TWRP. I have root.
Anyway, what is the newest ROM I can install on this device? Is there something that is Android7? I need the ROM to be clean (bloatware-wise), and should be fast.
Is the baseband version something I should be worry about?
Please provide me with the exact steps I need to do in order to install the new ROM given my current setup (which I described above), I want to make a clean setup - so full wipe is Okay.
Maybe LineageOS 14.1? It says I should go back to stock lollipop. How to do that exactly?
Thanks!
Hi. I'm on LineageOS 14 (latest build of today). I am pretty sure that it is the most updated rom for G2.
I am not going back to Cloudy ROM simply because I don't have time to move files, do backups,.... but i will do it. Really, G2's behaviour with Cloudy is perfect: no bugs, perfect camera, perfect sound. With Android > 5 you will face some bad things: for example, you will loose official camera drivers (no OIS, worst quality), and you will experience crappy sound if you max out the volume, and other bugs can be always after the corner.
(Surely, LineageOS is very usable and stable, but at the price of what I said before). So:
my advice is to use Cloudy, unless it is very important to you to have latest security patches.
I had my g2 d802 on Cloudy 3.3 for a long time and it was and still is perfect.
