You don't need to re-lock the bootloader, but if you want to take OTA updates directly, you need to return to complete stock otherwise. Some people have flashed OTA zips via Flashfire successfully, but it unroots their phone. IMHO, the easiest way is to flash the factory image partitions via fastboot monthly. It's cleaner and I never have a problem, just need to do a couple extra things afterward.

Toolkits are dangerous to use. You have no control over what's being flashed. You should take the time to learn how to do this stuff manually. It's not hard at all. @Heisenberg has a thread in the q&a section that will walk you through everything.

This, though I'm guilty of using toolkits when I'm in an extreme rush, you should definitely learn the ins and outs manually before you go messing with your phone.

Wug root toolkit - can't unroot and install stock

I have paranoid android installed on my nexus 7 and want to go back to stock. I've tried the toolkit and everything connects OK so drivers are fine but when the cmd prompt comes up it just says something along the lines of ready to reboot your newly flashed device. But there is no installation process shown and the nexus just stays on the bootloader screen. When I reboot it manually everything is exactly as it was. Any ideas what's going wrong?

Instead of relying on toolkits has it crossed your mind to do it the foolproof correct way? By following the tutorials in the stickies and using the proper utilities?

Good for you. But the non toolkit way is scary for newbies. There are so many ways and what works for one (Nexus 7 2012)is apparently not the way for another (Nexus 7 2013). And finding the "correct" image to use is another daunting hurdle for the newbie lost in all the code names (grouper, tilapia, etc).
Where can I find a "complete" how to that does not assume the newbie knows what would be obvious to the experienced user.

The stickies. Learn the terminology and understand what you are doing to your device.
Being a noob is not a free pass. Learn it just like everyone else had to.

First choose a forum, Like the 'Nexus 7 General'. Then you will have the choice at the top to choose the 'Stickies' for that forum.
That's funny. I see the thread right there. Flashing a factory image thread has more info than just flashing an image. Maybe you should read the stickies. There is a reason they are stickied.
Laziness is not an excuse to not do your homework on your device. You can also use this thing called Google to search for terms you don't understand. Remarkable that all the info is out there already you just have to read and comprehend.

Slow Down Guys

I think a few of us are getting too carried away with root lol. I, myself, sure had to catch myself. Don't forget that most of us do not have a custom recovery which means if you brick your device, you'll probably have to pm the devs and if a lot of that happens, they'll end up with an even bigger inbox than before root lol but my main reason for the thread is that everybody is speaking on unlocking the bootloader but I haven't heard one word on a bump'd recovery like on the G3? Is that even possible on this phone? By the way, would it be risky if I tried the universal init.d app? Kinda wanna try L Speed on this.
Lg flash tool.
We can get custom stock roms if any dev wants to do it. We just flash the img file.

Lol who's being a "donkey"?
Only the 815EU and 811 have unlocked bootloaders hence TWRP the rest of the g4 community does not have this benefit... On the subject of bumped, pretty sure that exploit used has been closed by LG...if you guys thought root took long the wait for another BL exploit likely will be much longer. I hope I'm wrong but I can't see another one being found for a while. Seems this time around LG really wants to lock every avenue down. The next coming soon firmware update will patch the current root backdoor, also the root that vnmobile discovered seems to be patched as well, although he hasn't released any details, it could very well be the same backdoor.

Xposed framework on Samsung galaxy note 3

This is my first post here on XDA, I've been a ghost for quite some time reading through numerous threads. Such a wealth of knowledge her . Hopefully as time progresses, I'll be able to help others!
This all began with Pokemon go.
I recently rooted my Samsung galaxy note 3 using Arabic by Ali. It was the only root tool that I could get to work. Now that I'm rooted I've embarked on the mission of getting Xposed framework setup on my device. I've searched for numerous hours both here on XDA and Google and have yet to find the info I'm needing, I'm new to the android rooting, and modifications (I taught myself all the iPhone jail breaking and mods but I'm stumped on the android is, for now.)
I'm not sure what ROM was used, if any honestly. When I boot my phone it does say custom with the unlocked lock. I've attached a screenshot of my about phone and ROM manager.
Wheres my beat starting point to getting Xposed to operate on my device, and be stable? I've read that there are a few work arounds to avoid boot loops and force closures, but I can't find a decent written guide into this. Or even what files I need. Trying to avoid any bricks, and want to fully know what to do before embarking on this task.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Both applied for note 3, depending on firmware you're using.
If 5.0, first one. But beware deodexed only. So stock rooted firmware won't work.
If 5.1.1 or 6.0.1, second one.

I've been reading into how to deodex my stock ROM, but I've read a few different guides that are different. Is there a reliable way to safely deodex my current?

Make sure you are rooted, download the neccessary file then flash it using flashfire. Simple as that.
OK, so I'm not sure what's going on or if I'm doing this properly. What steps do I need to do withing flash fire?
I set wipe to clear cache and dwlvik, than flash a zip or ota and selected the zip file. Click the flash button the phone powers down, and I cannot get it to power back up unless I remove the battery. I'm not entirely sure if I messed up or if its flash fire that messed up.
Sorry for all the questions. Android rooting and all are completely new to me.
Android system modding is a lot different from iOS ?
Got it to work finally! Thank you both for the links and help! Glad to finally have Xposed working as it should!

Yes and no, respectively. And if you were unencrypted, it will force encypt it.
But the latest SuperSU beta is already up, it's systemless, and it disables force encrypt, and removes verity.
Do existing root methods work on the official build?

I got the OTA but damn..858.6mb. much larger than I was expecting. I guess there is more in our OTA than the ones the 6p got.

Look under Security in Settings, if it says under Encryption "Encrypt phone" then it's unencrypted.
And I certainly will not answer your second question, it would start another long fight.

Rooted unable to flash stock or accept OTA

A little background: I rooted my phone right when I got it over 6 months ago and that was it, no Roms or anything special, everything was left stock after root. Bootloader is still unlocked.
For the life of me, probably because its been so long since I've done it, I can't figure out how to get updates again now that I'm trying to get all the latest security patches and update to Nougat and that's all I want to do.
Anyone link me to a thread or explain what I need to do to be able to flash the latest factory update and update Android? I've tried flashing images in TWRP and it gives me this error:

You can't install OTAs normally with a rooted device. You'd have to install a full OTA via ADB side load. Otherwise, you need to fastboot flash factory images. Or, return your device to stock first.

You can't flash android 7 google factory image through TWRP
You have to either use fastboot commands or use adb with flash-all.bat but that will result in losing all your data.
Just get OTA from MM to Nougat and you'll be just fine.
Got it. So just find a 'getting back to stock' thread and follow it will fix my issue?
