This is my first post here on XDA, I've been a ghost for quite some time reading through numerous threads. Such a wealth of knowledge her . Hopefully as time progresses, I'll be able to help others!
This all began with Pokemon go.
I recently rooted my Samsung galaxy note 3 using Arabic by Ali. It was the only root tool that I could get to work. Now that I'm rooted I've embarked on the mission of getting Xposed framework setup on my device. I've searched for numerous hours both here on XDA and Google and have yet to find the info I'm needing, I'm new to the android rooting, and modifications (I taught myself all the iPhone jail breaking and mods but I'm stumped on the android is, for now.)
I'm not sure what ROM was used, if any honestly. When I boot my phone it does say custom with the unlocked lock. I've attached a screenshot of my about phone and ROM manager.
Wheres my beat starting point to getting Xposed to operate on my device, and be stable? I've read that there are a few work arounds to avoid boot loops and force closures, but I can't find a decent written guide into this. Or even what files I need. Trying to avoid any bricks, and want to fully know what to do before embarking on this task.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Both applied for note 3, depending on firmware you're using.
If 5.0, first one. But beware deodexed only. So stock rooted firmware won't work.
If 5.1.1 or 6.0.1, second one.

I've been reading into how to deodex my stock ROM, but I've read a few different guides that are different. Is there a reliable way to safely deodex my current?

All credit goes to them and dont forget to press their thanks button.
Make sure you are rooted, download the neccessary file then flash it using flashfire. Simple as that.
OK, so I'm not sure what's going on or if I'm doing this properly. What steps do I need to do withing flash fire?
I set wipe to clear cache and dwlvik, than flash a zip or ota and selected the zip file. Click the flash button the phone powers down, and I cannot get it to power back up unless I remove the battery. I'm not entirely sure if I messed up or if its flash fire that messed up.
Sorry for all the questions. Android rooting and all are completely new to me.
Android system modding is a lot different from iOS ?
Got it to work finally! Thank you both for the links and help! Glad to finally have Xposed working as it should!

Hi, Please dont get offended by this post
I have been on XDA forum for long time, I have never seen such a messed up forum the way SII's is.
Just got a SII, thought of flashing it, been lurking around in all the sub forums, there is too many information which is confusing. It is impossible for a person to flash his SII in a day, I have already spent three days trying just to find best possible way to root, even that seems tough now, cant it be made simple as it was on windows phone.. If all the developers can post files required for rooting along with their Rom in a seperate link, on the same page, it will be easier. Right now its like 'you can use my tyres for your car but you got to look for someone to fill the air some place else'. Sorry but this is what it really looks like!
It's simple really. Flash a rooted kernel an then you have root.

Sorry to say but..... this is just lazyness. Too easy to do it. On my first day of using the Galaxy S II, my first Android phone [I was using a Nokia N95-8GB], I've already got root, I've been able to delete crap from /system/app. Didn't take 3 days, and no dev will spend time writing a noob-guide of how to root, it's a basic thing where every Android user should do, and there are plenty of guides of how to root, and they are very easy. I think people should let the lazyness away and search for it, not writing useless threads complaining it's very hard.
Agree with the above. Rooting was the easiest part of starting to install a custom rom onto your galaxy s2
Funny though, how only you have a problem with rooting and everybody else is getting by somehow...
Have you tried looking in the sticky rollup, how about the huge guide on how to root your device?
If you take a moment to look at the stickies, everything you need is right there
Is the OP really complaining about too much documentation?
Whoa.
In 5 minutes you can have root, custom rom and kernel installed... :good:
Flash custom kernel (Siyah for example) via Odin to get root, recovery...
Download any custom rom, put it on internal SD, wipe (if needed) and flash it via recovery...

New users are like this:
2 minutes to read instructions/download kernel and odin + 15 seconds to set PDA and press start + 10 seconds to flash + 20 seconds to boot the phone + 1 day wondering wtf is the Superuser app.
I can symphathise with you, when you 1st get to this forum it is a bit confusing, but what i did was just find a thread with Root and Firmwares in one and its been smooth sailing since. Just take some time off and read the stickies.
Failpost is fail.
It is hard on start. Read at least the stickies and 10 first threads of major subforums. Above links are also great for rooting. If you want a universal method for your ics phone, just look at the guide linked in my signature

Lazy OP! Wish you were with a HTC phone and said those words, it would be close to legit then!
With Samsung, and it takes you more than 3 days just to root? Pure BS!
Anyways, to answer your Q, flash any CF-kernel matching your firmware! And flash your preferred ROM!
Ok that's enough OP bashing....
I'll just leave this here........

First thing, wrong section to be posting this. Second, you should read up long and hard before trying stuff you don't know about. Third, it's almost impossible to brick your nexus 7 because you can usually recover any android device through fastboot.

first off use this toolkit to fix your tablet. This toolkit has everything you need.
With the above program you can insure that your rooted and unlocked. And use TRWP not CWM as your recovery.
P.S. do you know how to get into fastboot mode?
hold volume down and power it on, when it comes up you'll know. use the volume to select which mode.
i Try it
Good lord. Please stop modding your device.
Hey guys, I'm having the same problem with OP, my problem now is it return to the stage before it flash after it flashed. Which means that it shows that it is successfully flashing the stock rom, but when it reboots, it didn't. It goes back to the stage where the rom was before it was flashed. Anybody help please?
I know it can be irritating, but I wish the indignation could be dialed back around here.
I have seen the spam from this poster, yes he should quit the over posting. But to tell someone just to go away and stop, well, I feel differently.
Stay, learn. But research first, you know? And post once then wait for a reply.
As you can see, your current tactics are just making the natives restless.
Being an ESL noob isn't a crime, maybe this person will end up developing the ROM you run next year.
I thought Linux was some sort of specialized hardware earlier in this calender year.
Hi all,
Not the greatest with this whole rooting thing. I bought a used Nexus 4 a few weeks ago, and when it asks me to update the phone to 4.2.2, it restarts and takes me to CWM which I know can only be there if the phone is rooted. The update then says failed in CWM. When I hold the volume buttons and the power button that screen tells me the phone is locked. If I want to update the phone to 4.2.2 to you recommend flashing one of the mods from this site? Or unrooting and installing the stock update?
Thanks
You would have better luck asking this in the nexus 4 q and a, help, troubleshooting forum instead of this one... Just saying.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
you dont need root to have installed a custom recovery, or to flash roms/kernels. to find out if you jave root, type su in a terminal emulator then press enter. if you get a # symbol after, then you have root.
ps.. and this doesnt belong in any development forum. development is something that youre developing, q&a is for questions.

yea, report your own thread, ask a mod to move it. btw, you have root. if you want 4.2.2, instead of trying to flash the stock image, flash a stock rooted rom in cwm recovery

I found this: Root note 3
However which kernel file should I use for the verizon note 3? And is this method still functional?
Thank you
Found this for the S5 4.4.4 nk2 verizon. S5 nk2 root
anything like this will work for the note 3 on nk1? what kernels to use?
Bumping this thread. I'm in the same predicament. Any options?
Towelroot and framaroot don't work. CF auto root has nothing for us yet. I even tried universal root de la vega, nothing has worked.
At this point I'm desperate enough to try something like kango but even it doesn't support sm-n900v. I give up....I think the Note 4 & it's bounty is attracting the majority of attention.
well i tried to downgrade the kernel to a previous so can root like that and then upgrade the kernel to normal nk1, i let u know
SM-N900V 4.4.4 KTU84P.N900VVRUDNK1 Root?
bumping in this thread as well i have a SM-N900V 4.4.4 KTU84P.N900VVRUDNK1 and in the same situation. Any luck on the downgrade?
SM-N900V Root
WOW, looks like this is a common problem these days. I am having the exact same trouble, I can't get mine unlocked, rooted, or anything and i've even tried the paid sites.
Bumping this again. Any news on this yet? Anyone know which kernel files?
bumper too
Bump
P.S. How big of a bounty do you think would be necessary to attract the right people to solve this?
I will donate 100 $
http://www.usoftsmartphone.com/t319505.html what if we put this on top of nk1? Can anyone try this and report back?
Bump bump bump. Downgrade kernel. Root upgrade?
Gonna try this tomorrow and report back.

Well you obviously didn't report back. I already know the answer though, it didn't work. If you read it says you need to use SS which isn't even possible with a locked bootloader. I've been trying everything and combinations of everything with no luck. I'm not too worried about bricking as I have 2 unused Note 3s here which are useless to me without root. One was my wifes old phone and another was put together out of spare parts. I even tried ordering a broken phone from eBay hoping it hadn't been updated beyond 4.4.2....it was on 4.4.4. So now I have 2 N900Vs on 4.4.4 with no root/recovery options available.
Hello guys,
Right now I got android 5.0.1 with knox.
I'm looking for a custom rom that looks like that:
{

}
It is importent it will be custom rom because I want to be able to instal xposed, and it has to be for android 5.0.1 or above, because from what I understood, knox blocks downgrade attempts.
If someone can help me I will appreciate it very much.
P.S
It should also support Hebrew(witch is right to left).
Hi,
Use this step -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=58985536
to downgrade. If your bootloader is locked, you can't downgrade nor root it.
But, instead following download ARO firmware, download Stock KitKat firmware from your phone region.
But, since Xposed is supported on Lollipop firmware via arter97's one, I suggest you to flash one of deodexed custom ROMs and install Xposed on it.

First of all, thanks for your help.
I didn't quite understood though - should I follow the guide you gave me but with Stock KitKat from my region , or with a costume Lollipop ?
Personally, I really like the layout I showed in the image, just need to be able for it to support exposed.
The kitkat layout and lollipop layout on touchwiz are pretty much the same, only the colors are different.
If you don't want to go through the process of downgrading, then just flash a custom touchwiz rom. There are couple in the android development section. Take your pick. Make sure it is deodexed.

Do you have any good recommendations? I prefer rom which don't have all the junk apps and "s finder" and such..
I'm not a fan of toucwhiz roms. There are 3 or 4 of them here on the forum. And there also is Echoe rom which left xda but they still have their own site. Just google them.
