Virus removing encryption? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I have security encryption turned on but when I power off then start the phone it doesn't ask for the passcode anymore only once it is fully booted. After doing a factory reset it comes back even after all my apps are installed but about a month later I try it then it's gone.
Anyone else have this issue is it an app, a virus? Any reverse engineers that can take a look at this?

samsung dive screen unlock

Hi I know im new to this and i have searched for my related subject with no avail so here is my issue/question. My Samsung galaxy note gt-n7000 keeps popping up in the notifications bar saying that Samsung dive has reset your password, so i logged in to dive and take a look to see if that's been hacked and someones messing with my screen unlock. But i notice the latest reset was 27/6 so i thought that's odd whys my phone keep resetting the password set the password back three times and its reset it self each time so far has any one else had similar issues? i'm wondering weather my phone has been hacked.
Im running ICS Official with root.
Did you by any chance try the unlock screen feature? If you did this is why it is doing it, mine did the same, only way I found to cure this, was to delete the account on pc and phone, then set up again only this time I have left that feature well alone.

I did once but its took over a month for the issue to arise, was yours straight away or did it take a month or two for the issue to arrive, I've just set a new password and restored system data using Titanium Backup Pro, I'll see how it go's now as the previous times it was instantly so I'm wondering weather some dodgy app got installed on my phone.
I had this issue and I reset the device and that was that. By reset I dont mean power on and then off I mean I flashed the device to get it back to factory clean. I do so every once in a while just yo make sure everything is running smoothly. It got rid of the issue you're speaking of. Ever since I left Samsung dive alone and only use it in case of emergencies.

Settings issue

Well just like the title says my settings will crash randomly. But if I try and check for updates it will stop responding almost instantly requiring a battery pull. Anybody have any idea why this may be happening? I just reset my phone back to factory last night and the only thing non stock is root...

My phone restarts itself at night, is yours also behave like this?

I have a weird problem with my note 4. It restarts itself 2-3 times but only at night. It starts at about 3, 4 am and then every hour or so until 7 am. I hear the buzz on every restart. Also my gear fit connects and disconnects every time with a vibration buzz. It drives me nuts!
Do you have the same problem?
I already tried a factory reset, also disabled the automatic sync to the servers. Also formatted the SD card inside the phone and tried to remove it completely but the phone still restarted at night.
I went to the Samsung center- they sent it to the lab and the lab said that the phone does not have any problem at all- but they did not check it at night.
I'm on the latest firmware N910FXXU1ANJ4
Can you help me? What could be the problem? what can I do???
If it happens again...get a video recorder..record the event...show it to samsung..demand a replacement. My device had no problems what so ever when it was completely stock, or after rooting or when using custom rom.

That is so odd...! What if you tried to video record the phone restarting and show it to the service centre? Maybe with a timestamp so you can stitch together the restarts and demonstrate what happens every night.

I will do what you suggest . I will record the phone on video and show them what it does. This is not normal if I'm the only one who have that problem.
Hope you can exchange a new one
I dont have that problem
I will sue them. This is the only way. Because they are like wall. not possible to prove that you are right
i have same issue but try to factory reset it. remove the sd card if you using one. and noticed it. i work evening shift thats why i noticed my phone boot itself . now after i factory reset o havent encounter any auto restart .

I did a factory reset. Also removed the SD card and checked. It does the same thing.
On Friday I bought N910c in Poland. I'm having absolutely same problem as you. Factory reset didn't fix the issue (((

I don't think that there is a solution. There is something wrong with the phone because not all the units faulty. Tonight i will film the phone on video camera to prove it and sue the company. They refusing to refund my money because they claim that the phone does not have any problem.
I have got that issue, but it just turn off by itself while recharging at night
I'm having the same problem with my Moto X 2014. It reboots itself only at nights one or more times. I've trying everything without any success. Did you manage to fix yours?
Thanks!
Do you have any memory management software installed? Some of them kick in when phone is not used for longer time and maybe it deletes something what causes phone to reboot?

If it's only at night whilst charging, it could just be an overheat problem.

permissions keep getting reset

In the last month or so all my app permission keep getting reset to 'deny everything' and when I open an app it keeps asking me for permissions access every few days ....
any idea what the heck is going on?
I've been having the exact same issue. Still, i dont know what triggers it. I've read somebody else had this issue after a phone restart. The most common app that gives me a headache or started to messed up was Whatsapp, which loses access to contacts and loses the ability to recognize the phone number. Please if you have further info or a workaround please let me know.
I just had this for the first time this morning... was wondering if it was a device or android issue?
ETA: I noticed it after a restart
I think is directly related to the phone model.
I wonder if it has something to do with the AVG Antivirus app. Do you have it installed?
I haven't tried to factory reset though..

"your device was restarted and needs to be unlocked using your PIN" but not really..

"your device was restarted and needs to be unlocked using your PIN" but not really..
AT&T S7 Edge on Nougat
So this just started happening... 10+ times a day at completely random times I see this message on my lock screen
"your device was restarted and needs to be unlocked using your PIN" I realize this is a security setting to require the PIN on a restart but I'm not restarting the phone (It's completely random) and when I look at the uptime counter it's not consistent with a recent reboot.
I've run the gamut with AT&T & Samsung which was a waste of time. I've cleared the system cache, run in safe mode, did a hard reset and ran for a few days and still got this message.
AT&T finally replaced the phone and now this one is doing the same thing.
Any one else having this issue or have thoughts on where I can look for logs etc...?
TIA
Mine does this all the time, it seems to be doing a soft reboot for no apparent reason, they probably want you to upgrade to the s8

Does your uptime reflect a recent reboot when this happens?
No, not at all. They pushed out a security update today, not sure if this going to fix the glitch, but we can all hope

Didn't fix it.
Are you running any package disabling apps?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using XDA-Developers Legacy app
yes, Package Disabler.
Here's the xml output for whats disabled.. Nothing really jumps out at me, most of it is the Samsung and AT&T bloatware

That's probably the cause, you must've disabled something you shouldn't have. Mine doesn't ask for a pin unless I restart it or it hasn't been used in 24 hours.
I have it configured to require a PIN after reboot, so that's not the strange part.
My issues are as follows:
1. why was it rebooting in the first place? -----> I'll concede that I may have disabled something that would inadvertently force the reboot, I'm in the process of sorting through that list now.
2. why was the uptime clock not reset to zero after the reboot occurred? ----> This is the really odd part... Did it really reboot or not?

Maybe it soft rebooted and never reset the counter versus a hard reboot which is like losing all power to the device.

Hi there,
I have a big problem ...
I just got an update earlier today on my S7 and since then my phone is rebooting every 30secs !! I loose my battery very quicky and I can't even use properly my phone during those 30secs, like I can go on internet but I can't type anything and then it's turning off and on again and again.
I succeeded to turn off the wifi on my phone and now I can use my phone properly except that I don't have internet (I don't have a sim card).
If I turn on the wifi again it's gonna start rebooting again... What should I do ??
Is that due to the update earlier ?
One last thing is that I bought that phone a year ago in Canada and since a few days I'm back to France. Any connection ?
Thanks
