Did anyone of you guys notice? Before the august update the ac identity and crisis action ran well on my gs7e but after the august update, on ac identity the character npc texture are black and on crisis action some gun texture are white? Is there anyfix beside restoring to last update? The fastest phone out there but software problem :/
August update introduced new GPU driver which cause some of the already installed apps to glitch out.
The easy fix is to reinstall the apps.

Hello,
since the newest stock March 6.0.1 update my XT1572 EU I got graphic glitches in games.
Anyone experienced similar issues? Is there a way to manually replace the Qualcomm Adreno GPU driver like it is possible for Nexus 5/6/7?
Btw, my Style is rooted.
Edit: Solved with SD Maid...

An example is attached, here you can notice missing animations - now black texture-less shapes.
For example, the black crown above with "4w 0d 11h" below it, or on the top right side, black shape with "2d 16h 3m" below, or bottom right above "33m 55s".

Seems 7.1.2 is starting to rollout to some Pixel C owners according to 9to5Goolge, not got it myself yet, anyone grab the OTA if they get it?
https://9to5google.com/2017/04/02/android-7-1-2-pixel-c-update/
Just got it . Over in Houston Texas for region questioning. 11:45pm. How do grab and share it?

Got the update in the UK yesterday and another bonus is I now also get the cool pixel live wallpapers that I have on my Pixel XL.
One more minor change I've noticed since getting 7.1.2 is that wallpapers now appear slightly darker when you set them than before. That's a good thing I think as previously maybe 60%of all Google's default wallpapers were so light that they didn't contrast well with the app icons and you often couldn't read the app icon labels. This had been the case going back multiple android versions on previous devices. Seems like Google have finally addressed it, well at least on the Pixel C.
Yup, just got it here in UK also. Dunno whether I like it yet? Wasn't offered. Had to check manually.
Full OTA images are up for anyone who doesn't want to wait ...

I'm on 7.1.2 beta and I haven't received an update to stable yet. Anyone facing the same problem?

it will come, just be patient, or you can just side load the ota

Or flash the factory image (after removing the -w from the bat file first of all) which is what I did, working fine here

I was having the same issue so I left the beta program, which downgraded the Pixel C. When I was back on 7.1.1 I was then offered the update.

I didn't want to reset the device
I'm on 7.1.2 Beta and I received a very small update this morning (11.2MB) to take me to N2G47D with April security patches.

So did I. This small update is a stable version. So if you want you can leave the beta program after that update without loosing your data.

Got the updates to patch my beta to mainstream but comes with a unique bug; gboard has no spacebar. I've tried force closing and also restarting the tablet. Very strange issue...other keyboards work fine.
Edit, changed the theme and that's fixed it. So weird!

Me too
Has anyone else noticed slow charging since the update to 7.1.2? I've just unplugged mine after an hour on the standard charger and the increase was only about 15%?!
Only got the update yesterday so first charge since...mostly looks good but fast charging is an essential for me, so hopefully if there's a bug affecting fast rapid charging it's fixed soon!

Nope, then again, I use an Anker charge box & lead, and never used stock charger etc., blisteringly fast as normal, always has been, since 7.0.0.
7.1.2 seems to have slowed my pixel c down to a snails pace. Have just factory reset, but still seems slow. For example swiping left on the home screen to get to Google now used to be smooth, but is now jerky. Anyone else experiencing this?

Not to the extent that you mention. But app loading and Chrome web page loading does feel slower.
Have been playing around and seems worse if the screen size is set to small (which is what i generally use on my pixel c and Nexus 6p). Setting back to default size makes the performance better, but still doesn't feel as smooth as it should on a device like this.
@narse,
FWIW: I just rebooted my router, and my issues are solved.

spectre slowdown embedded ?
anybody have changelog or something ?
Also out for dual SIM variant (G8142). One thing I noticed that's fixed is returning to apps from lock screen seems to work better. Specifically in Desert Golfing if I lock the screen from inside the game then unlock, the game somehow picked up the wrong resolution and shrank itself to 1/4 of the full screen. Works fine now.
Woke up to the OTA notification this morning here in the UK. Seems all good so far.
Hey there,
Just to let you know that I updated the "google app" today from Playstore to the last version. I'm on stock factory Oreo Feb. +ElementalX kernel.
I was a bit upset by the overall performances of my phone compared to my beloved n5. There were some ****ty lag between every app I opened and the actual moment when I could use the app (for example, opening WhatsApp, get the green top bar and had to wait 1 to 2s to get the message list)
Since the update, all gone, the phone is literraly flying.
I've noticed that the cores are also switching frequency way faster. I think something wasn't right before and some process were using way too much ressource.
I'm not here to brag (I didn't do **** ^^) but I would like to know if it's the same for other users.
Have nice day! Mine will be awesome
Gruß,
H.
What do you mean you updated the Google app? You mean the early February update? If yes, I actually find that my 5x is performing even more finicky than with the January update. The December update was the best of them all. Hope the March update will rectify the situation.
Hi, nope, I was on the februar update, and got an update from Playstore for the "google" app. This made my n5x really really faster
Mi A1 is lagging after applying July 2018 Patch. I did factory reset and also Service centre performed Factory reset.
System is still lagging. Most of the application opens after 1 minute and errors out as "Close App/Wait" message
I thought applying August 2018 patch may fix the issue. So I applied the August patch and the lagging continues.
I called Mi support who refuse to take the complaint and said the supervisor will call, also could not give me a complaint number.
I waited for 2 days and no calls from Mi India
I tried all possible setup tweaks and still the phone is slow on all apps. (It takes 2 minutes to start the Phne and August patch took 2 hours to apply and I have 100 MBS Airtel FTTH at home)
Any idea?
Note: I am not a Game user and I use 10 apps maximum like Mail/Message/Phone/Whatsapp/Phone/Calculator/Map/Music
I ran the diagostics and all components are workng well and I raun Au tu benchmark and got the results as 81000.
I really appreciate any input....
I have the same problem. I tried to restart, reset, flash may patch, flash nougat... and the app crash continues.

I am thinking of using A1 as a replacement phone and move to NOkia 6.1+
this might be due to flash storage getting bad, but this shouldn't happen this early so either its a qc issue or something terrible as happened while tinkering custom roms/kernels. Did both of you used custom roms?

I just installed the GCam in the stock rom.
Sometimes, when i download something (or while google play updates the apps), the problem appears.
just mention if you used custom roms or not. just ask the service center guys fix it, its a hardware issue

Is it overheating? Check the temps when its lagging.
I've had no problems with lagging from July or August updates. Also no issues with GPS accuracy/speed, charging etc.

No, No Custom ROMS used.
Also the phone does not get heated up
I ran again other performance tools and found the issue in the Internal Storage
PCMark storage rating should 3020+ but my device returns 173
Seq Read rating is 13.64MB and it should be 221MB
Random Read is 0.13MB/s and it should be 10MB/s
Write rating is 14.1 MB/s and it should be 4MB/s
Randm write is 0.06MB/s and it should be 4MB/s

I took my phone to the service centre again and showed them the issue with the internal storage. They said I ran 3rd party tool and they will run BUG report and update me. They called me after 4 hours and said the issue is with the mother board and got it approved by Mi for the replacement. I hope to pick up the phone (with new MB) in a day and check for issues.
Thanks
