I have just received new OTA update 1.85.401.5 for European version of M9 Plus.
Please
Can you share with us a copy of your new rom ? Please
What do you mean?
Can you do a zip file to install in recovery ? like tlbade has maded ?
@zazabichi so it's not 5.1, right?
With my s-off, i've just converted to main version 1.08 Europe region 401, all went fine. Now updating to 1.61, then hopefully to 1.85 Then i'll dump system image and look at creating an update for CleanSlate ROM

I had the stock 1.61.401.7 unlocked through HTCdev, rooted & installed exposed. I reverted to the stock back up I made (before root/exposed) but the OTA install is not working. I also reverted to stock recovery (only found 1.61.401.6). The attached image is what I get in the stock recovery after I get the red exclamation image. Any idea what am I doing wrong? do I have to re-lock the bootloader first or is it because of the stock recover being for 1.61.401.6 instead of 1.61.401.7?

I think it will be the difference in recovery.
Unfortunately I don't have that recovery extracted. Maybe someone caught the fota URLs andbacked up the OTA zip, that should contain the recovery, but I don't have them, sorry
Is there an improvement of the performance after the OTA? I'm interested in buying this phone to upgrade my M8. I read some reviews says that M9+ it cannot handle high frame rate games very well. even on switching to other apps on multi tasking.
Are this issues were improved after the latest OTA?
Thanks!

Better stay with the M8 if you're in for gaming. The OTAs didn't change much related to that, and I don't think it's possible. 2K screen and the GPU of iPhone 5S is not meant to be paired for high demand gaming, and no OTA will change that IMHO. For casual gaming still okay.
Antutu seems to score lower. But the ui multitasking seems to be improved overall quite a bit.

Thanks for the info. Maybe I'm still upgrading to M9+ since I'm not into gaming. What I really like on HTC devices is the boomsound. I am tempted for the QHD and fingerprint sensor for M9+. For those features, still pretty good to upgrade to M9+.
What really confused me to buy is because of the news that HTC Aero will be coming soon. It would not feel great when you buy a new one then suddenly, another one is released.

It is strange that the Taiwan update mentions Battery improvements while the Euro update has System improvements, one would think they would be the same kind of upgrades, but they are different & also different in size.

Just flashed my pre-rooted zip a moment ago. Still 5.1.1. Nothing new on first look.
Doing some sound checks with spotify.
Could be a placebo but sound seems improved.
All the Google bloatware system apps are back!
May its just a stagefright 2.0 fix.

1,34GB big? No, I think it is a lot more since it is basically the whole Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM install size else they would just roll out a patch along the 0,2GB range.

Well I asked in the other thread about size and was told 1,35GB. That is roughly the same as the 5.1.1 update was. Seems quite big if they only are going to patch Starfright 2 and some minor tweaks/bug fixes. But then it can be that they fixed core bugs that needed updates to several system components or just that this is the final update for the Z1 line and thus they want to release a complete firmware.
It's over 1 GB because on XperiFirm you only get complete firmwares.
I bet the OTA notification on our phone will not download and install over 1 GB. We will only get the updated files. I don't know what size it will be. Never did an ota on my phone.

Ota is generally around 200 to 400 mb on my z2, when i got update over ota {5.1.1}
My impressions so far:
- Stagefright fully patched
- Sound seems to be louder using movies app and music app, but I don't know if it's a placebo.
- Video playback is smooth using hw+ in MX player, before that version the playback was hanging when you seek using hw+
- performance seems to be improved, since I don't have noticed any hang since the first boot
- Battery seems to be better, I only get 2% drop while testing AnTuTu and I get around 39k, I don't really care about this number since the general performance seems to be really good
- I am noticing a bug while using phone dial, It don't sound when I press the number keys.. But this is an insignificant detail for me
- Camera seems to be a little faster too
- I haven't noticed any new feature until now
- I'm from Brazil but I'm using Hong Kong firmware version which is fully compatible with the Brazil frequencies and seems to be debloated
Sorry for bad English guys,

what about the mobile data bug in 5.1.1???
is it possible to flash on z1 with different baseband (France)
I have: 8974-AAAAANAZQ-10270084-75
will it work properly with all frequencies?

Camera lag
Hi guys, I'm testing right now the DE prerooted zip with clean install. It's quite good it's not heating so much, I would say similar to KK. Battery drain.. can't say yet, probably still not as good as KK but good enough. The sound quality seems different (worse) to me, using really clean sounding MH1C and can hear a difference between KK and 5.1.1. But I can't stand the camera lag, found out that if I set low ISO (50, 100) there is no such lag but with higher ISOs deffinitely is and quite significant! Do have this lag too?
Waiting for the C6903.
Did anyone try any modes on the new firmware? Like 120 fps or 4K or call handling? How is the wifi? With latest firmware, mine had degraded. How is the wifi reception on the new firmware?
Hello any memory bugs?

I think radio active. I have this bug case using wifi for time long enough, then turn off or disconnect wifi, Data does not activate automatically as usual. I have to change my phone to Fly mode then back again.
I recently got myself a SM G 935F and it's working great so far, but I have one issue. When I play games that use high graphics it's sometimes messing it up.
For example, GTA is flickering really much every couple seconds. Unfortunately, I seem to be unable to screenshot that. Also, in this game, it looks pretty awkward as well, I've attached a screenshot of that. In Crazy Taxi it's not lagging or anything, but it sometimes doesn't react to any touches on the screen that I make for some seconds.
I've also attached two Screenshots of a graphics benchmark test, and the result is that my phone ended up like half as good as other SGS7E's.
I already did a reset (didn't have much data on it yet anyway) but it didn't help.
Does anyone else experienced anything like this?
And do you think I should just wait for updates for the apps and the phone itself which may fix problems like this?
My software version is G935FXXU1APB4 (6.0.1) and I have an European Exynos model.
Thanks in advance for anyone who takes time to reply!
GTA: SA has graphical glitches/artifacts for me too and I also have the Exynos variant.

Oh I'm glad to hear that, I was afraid my phone had a problem. Maybe it's really just the problem that it's too new and will be fixed with updates in the future.

Are you sure that is stock Android on your K8?
There is not any root method at least not here, only for 2016 model, I doubt it will work with 2017, it will probably harm device.
However it can be possible that phone is lagging it's not flagship but it's not weak device my 2016 K8 works very well. Would you mind to explain lag and when it happened?

Its not exactly stock android but the design kind of is. My mom is using the k8 2016 and its way faster than my 2017 version. i figured out the lag issue is because android system itself is taking up 800 mb (this is without me installing anything at all. basically after i formatted i checked and it was 800 mb) and the ram is 1.4 gb so only 400 ish mb remains or 500 which makes it really slow. Also sorry for the really fast reply :3 didn't have an internet connection for a while.

I don't think I understand you or you don't understand something. I have 2016. K8 and system is taking up 2.6 GB and I have 1.5 GB of RAM so not ever will all system will go in RAM it's not even possible. Are you talking about 800 mb of RAM is taken by system? 700 MB is fine for apps except ones who need a large chunk of RAM, but even then Android will push out something out of RAM to make place for that app. Check for OTA updates, i still doubt phone is lagging, I mean it is budget phone but still..

To be honest I think something isn't right here. Because that is not how LG phone tiles look like, indeed this look like pure Android without UX on top of it, I don't know if LG started shipping phones with pure Android on them or is something else, would you mind go to settings and take screenshot of software info page?
However on these screenshots you provided it's average use in last x hours(to me there shows that chrome use 2.9 GB which is not possible), to see current go to developer options and to "running services.
It is K8 2017, idk why LG decided using stock-ish UI instead UX4.0/5.0 like K10 2017. It has the same (if not better) spect as 2016 version, and I don't know what causes the lag. Either some junk app/screen overlay app/bad software optimization.
From my experience, 2016 version has performance problem with some screen overlay apps like easy touch, bluelight filter, etc. But even on low ram apps still runs quite smooth.

Yeah I see, I did some digging and in YouTube there is two kinds one with UX and one without it, maybe I'm mistaking maybe both are stock I'm not sure how nougat under UX looks like. However they released k8 2017 and mediatek version runs nougat as I can understand (Russian edition and some other countries) and qcom versions runs nougat. LG never fails to amaze me with their actions, I mean seriously?

Model number: LG-X240k .I don't think it's the carrier's fault because I bought the phone in an LG store it self. The UI is the same as op. I also notice that Android OS (Android 6.0) takes about 900mb~ of memory without any running apps I have J5 prime with the same os only take about 300-400mb.

Don't look on that, that information is not reliable.
My mom got this phone too, just a couple of days. She asked me to install facebook and messenger app. To be estimated, I finished it for almost two hours. Becuase I need to install shareit and play services as well before shareit will work. Damn phone very laggy or may I say very slow. One app took more than 3 to 5 mins to finish. She got LG-X240.

Pretty sure, mine is K350K it lags a lot when scrolling on recent menu/multitask manager/whatever you called it is which is painful. Must be some lazy ass rom developer from my country's model. Hell not even any updates since sep-15 2017 (v10d), which is worse btw coz system root cannot be modified. This phone is officially abandoned I believe.

LOL, I even play DriftSpirits and Dirt Rally with mine while using an app called "Dimmer" (I stopped using Bluelight filter because it had ads) and I do have a lower fps while using it, but its nothing terrible.
About updates, I dont update since I installed its day one firmware and rooted it, so I can't tell if mine's still gets updates or not.
My main problem with my k350z is that I can't write or delete anything on my SDcard since I started using link2sd.
since then, I had to use my PC every time I need to manage my files.

How does a phone behave after the update (in comparison with Nougat)? Do you find it smoother - less laggy or faster? Btw, is it possible to enable dark theme somewhere in Settings? I was unable to find it in soak test builds.
I just updated it and it's been 10mins into update and I'm officially lovingggggggg it :victory::laugh::fingers-crossed::angel:
The UI, the notification controls and theme all is great. As u can see the quick setting panel also have dark theme...however idk if its daytime auto switching or is there any option to enable it but right now it's enabled and I'm happy to find this option.
I'll post more as i evaluate more
Did you manage to save OTA to make it flashable?
Some new actions have been added to the Moto Actions App.
There isn't any dark theme option however the quicksettings panel in notification bar changes to dark colour based on wallpaper's colour.

Nope i don't knw how to do that sorry

Could you test an unlock animation with any app opened (like Settings, Dialer etc.) and animation of notification bar pulldown with YouTube full screen playback in the background, please? I remember, I encountered lag especially there with latest Oreo soak test build. Hopefully it's better optimized now.

I remember, I encountered lag especially there with latest Oreo soak test build. Hopefully it's better optimized now.

Yes tested no lag whatsoever:
1) unlock with youyube playing
2) chrome with 56-70 tabs opened and still working smooth
3)music player and oine radio streaming and then unlocking without lag
I think the may lag if we run heavy games on it but i dont have any so i can't tell.... As far as normal-heavy usage the phone is working better than before thats for sure.

Thank you for your effort
Btw, it seems to be that quick settings color change is based on wallpaper darkness. You can see it in this video https://youtu.be/Qoo8Ao0gems?t=236.
Did anyone managed to get the update outside of India or Brasil? Maybe with Lenovo Smart Assistant?

Bcoz if you update to different channel you will not able to get any ota update in future maybe there will be some bug that can soft brack your phone.
But don't panic if you know how to flash official firmware using fastboot then you can do bcoz once amzin one comes you can flash it. If not I will not suggest you to flash another channel firmware
Do you have any information about the moto g5 plus? i have not received it yet.
