LTE-A / LTE+ - misssing icon in system.iu ? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
As everybody noticed on stock roms Nexus doesnt show H+ icon , when it is using HSPA+ network. Is it same for LTE-A ? I"m asking because i am not able to determinate if im using LTE or LTE+ .
I know , that i can do a speed test to determinate which network i"m using right now , but this is not the way for me.
I need a trusted information if N6P is using LTE+ but doesnt display it on statusbar or sth is wrong on my side.
Note:
I did some reseaches and corrected my APN setings and as a result LTE Discovery app isnt able to tell me which band i"m using (is behaves in the same way with my fathers S7 Egde when it is using LTE+).

I have the same question! I would like to know how to determine if lte- a is working correctly.

Well. I think LTE-A isn"t working at all. In 6.0 there was no LTE+ icon , but LTE discovery would display the upload and download frequency as a interval --> agregation is working. On one of the Nougat updates it stoped to display interval , just standard up and download frequency but speed was the same. On 8.0 LTE discovery doesn't work at all (it freezes and force closes) but I'm able to get some badass download and upload speed from time to time
So my conclusion is , that Nexus 6P uses LTE+ but doesn't report that at all

[Q] s4 GT-I9505 missing DC-HSDPA/LTE

Hello guys,So im with three.uk they dont do LTE yet but they r about to roll it out very soon however they do DC-HSDPA and im in area where i should be getting it sadly im not getting it for some reason top of the screen shows only H+(mostly) sometimes H and 3G. If i go to connections->More Networks-> Mobile Networks -> Network mode i only get WCDMA/GSM(auto connect) or WCDMA only so this is what i get. I was reading that there is some problem with s4's shipped from korea and people advice to flash to unbranded stock well one was australian so i even flashed to australian firmware even to getman firmware so far no luck no lte in options not detecting DC-HSDPA just after flashing to getman/australian firmware i got an extra option in network mode and it is gsm only plus the other two i said before. So my question is how i could get this DC-HSDPA working and what indicator top of the screen will show instead of h+ will it show DC ? i was trying to find answers but no luck so far please help me outKind rengards Martin

Hi,
H+ will still display on your signal strength indicator, as DC-HSDPA is just a variant of the HSPA network system. to force the internet to always connect to a higher speed network set it to WCDMA Only.
There is no DC-HSDPA or HSDPA in the network selection, it is tied to the WCDMA system.

Root Explorer (or another), and go to data/property.
select persist.radio.lteon , edit it with a text editor and change the value from false to true.
Save changes, reboot and enjoy
bye to all.

This isn't about 4G? It's about DC-HSDPA.

4g / LTE Toggle / radio control

At work the 4g LTE signal for ATT is very poor in the building, but we have 4g repeaters for ATT to fix this issue. Unfortunately, phones are stubborn and like to stay on 4g LTE despite having 1 bar of signal vs full signal with 4g. I had this same issue on my iphone 5 but was able to easily force off LTE while i was at work and have a steady, reliable data connection. My Note 4 seems to have the same affinity to wanting to be on 1 bar of LTE, but I cannot figure out a way to toggle / force LTE off and just use 4g. Anyone have any ideas? Anyone know of an application I can use to resolve this issue?
Thanks

Unfortunately, there is no option for Network mode on the ATT version. I wonder if this has to do with voLTE....
I did find a backway to the network mode via *#*#4636#*#* but I am unsure of what I should be setting to "disable" lte while I'm in the building at work.
I think I've sorted this out now. If I change LTE/GSM AUTO to WCDMA preferred it seems to immediately switch and hold onto 4G. I do have to change it back. Maybe I will write something so I can quick toggle this since nothing on the app store seems to work.
hi,
If you are rooted ? You can use an xpose module called Intelli3G
I use it on my phone ,works 100% and switches smoothly/fast between eg 4G..3G automatic
eg if my data is of its on 3G as soon as i switch data on /wifi it changes to 4 G
For interest sake ,here is a link to market ,you can read desciption what it does ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.voidvapps.intelli3g&hl=en
good luck

S5 SM-G906L network settings

Hey everyone ..
I've bought lately S5 (SM-G906L) the Korean version because of the perfect specification that it has ..
i had an S4 before it and i was used to see the H+ icon when i use the data network on it but after i bought the s5 its always 3G .
i tried to change the settings in my phone but never could and i live in Turkey btw so thats mean there is no 4G network here ..
can anyone help to change it to H+ cause i read that its faster and better than the normal 3G network or at least its enough to me to learn the reason of all of that
and also there is another problem I've just discovered which is i cant use the video call from this device whereas i could use it from my sim card on my friend's phone Note 4

Changing the icon won't give you better or faster data, silly.
H+ = 3G+. That's it. It's probably showing you a 3G icon (it's the same thing lol) while actually using H+ since it's a korean phone. Check with your operator what speeds they have for H+/3G+ and do a speedtest to see if you're on H+ or not.
And what about video calls ? Do u have any idea ?

samsung j5 j500f no service issue

hi please help me i m using Samsung galaxy j5 j500f duos i m from pakistan and using zong and ufone in that mobile.. its 4g supported and zong 4g is showing NO SERVICE or not registered on network i cant make a call or use sms service but when i turn mobile data on to use internet i got 4G LTE and can use internet without signals IMEI is ok ufone works only in GSM mode only and zong dont work in any mode i.e LTE/WCDMA/GSM.. without other sim zong dont work and it only works in GSM mode only when ufone is set to LTE/WCDMA/GSM... but in that case ufone show NO SERVICE i reset it hardware format and watched youtube also but ALL invain can anybody help me
Have you tried to change nertwork mode to WCDMA only or GSM...or both WCDMA and GSM...????
Hi bro I am from Pakistan too so I research on it (couz I got 4g phone as well) I tried zong and didn't received signal so what I found is that these networks are on limited bands to work u need both phone and network to be same frequency supported to work 4g (and don't ask me how to do it couz I don't know either) try using warid (if possible) 4g it probably gonna work (not sure) or maybe you are not in 4g coverage area....

FORCING a Huawei E5573s-320 into LTE only mode

Hi , Been trying my best to find a way to force my Huawei Mi-Fi to stay in LTE only mode, theres an option in the router settings to set it as 2G or 3G only but there isn't an LTE only option available and the problem is , I can get 3 bars of 4G which is much faster than 5 bars of 3G but it keeps disconnecting and automatically selecting 3G because the router thinks it's a better signal. Is there a way of modifying the firmware like the guy on this site has (wouldnt let me post a link cuz new user just add htt ) /blog.hqcodeshop.fi/archives/161-Huawei-B593-Forcing-4G-LTE-mode.ht ml because it honestly would solve all my problems connection wise. Thanks
