Is LTE enabling a software thing or a hardware because after installing cyanogenmod 12.1 on my phone I found my network showing me as "LTE(preferred)". So is it possible that my phone is now LTE enabled?
no..... its just themed as LTE .............. NO LTE for SM-G7102
No, SM-G7102 comes with MSM8226 which never support Lte network ;(
SM-G7105 and SM-G710L are the variants that supports LTE but they have no dual sim

Hello
I've just got a used S5 SM-G900F Running Stock 4.4.2 Baseband Version G900FXXU1ANC7 and I have noticed that there is a large amount of delay when calling !
the G900F is the European version, it doesn't connect to LTE but that doesn't matter to me.
My carrier is Ultra Mobile, its a mvno that uses T-mobile network
here is the delay shown in this clip I'm calling from my samsung s5 "on the right" to LG E980 on the left : https://youtu.be/7Ko6ogf4i-c
I have tried my SIM in another phone and there is no delay
any ideas ?

There's also this method:
https://samsung-firmware.org/model/SM-G900F/
Download the proper baseband for your phone, and flash via Odin.
