Background Apps keep closing - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I have the Droid Turbo 2 still on the lollipop build still, and whenever I try to use apps in the background such as music streaming, or google maps navigation they will always close after a couple of minutes. I have factory reset the phone and still get this issue. Is it a problem with the phone, or perhaps the build it is on? If anyone has any insight that would be awesome!

Force close, Force close, Force close

so i'm having this issue which is horrribly irritating, everytime i go onto my browser, use music, and recently whenever i get a call some application always has to foreclose. Its usually google apps, phone, or browser, but its been many other things as well (i.e. cnn widget, bbc widget, gps widget, etc.) this has been preventing me from answering my calls or basically using my phone in gerneral. Also before the phone call app or watever you call it started foreclosing and my phone was asleep, it usually took such a long time for the phone to wake up that i would miss the call, the phone wouldnt even let me click the green answer button to answer the call. Now i thought the problem was with my rom, which at the time was JF 1.51 Tmobile version so i changed my rom to Haykuro. The problem still existed so i changed to cyanogen 3.6.8.1 at first the problem was no longer existent, but a few days back it started again. I have no idea how to fix this or how to cope with it but any help would be great. Thanks.
LOL I think you need to change the title... Foreclose is different than a Force Close LOL
It could be compcache or a background task that's using a lot of memory/cpu that's causing the force closes.

[Q] Functionality problems after NK1 update

Hi. I foolishly updated to NK1 a month or so ago assuming there was a root. Since the update, I've been having some really annoying basic functionality problems with my Note 3 (outside of it feeling sluggish overall). I've gotten around keyboard freezes, input lag and general f-ups in the Messenger app by switching to Textra. The now nonexistent haptic feedback was "fixed" by increasing the vibration length for each key on the keyboard. For some apps, I've sideloaded an old version to get them to behave like they did before the update. However, there are a few other issues that I'm hoping someone may have some ideas how to fix.
1) YouTube will constantly error out when trying to load a video and my subscriptions list. The white circle will just spin and spin until it finally gives me a "video cannot load" error. If a video won't load, it won't load no matter how many times I click on it to refresh it. I'll have to either close the app and reopen it, or for the really difficult times, restart my phone. Also, if I shrink the app rather than close it when I'm done, no videos will play when I reopen the app unless I close it or restart my phone.
2) The stock camera clears its settings whenever it feels like it. Auto flash, face detection and image stabilization will randomly turn from "on" and "auto" to "off."
3) All of the web browsers (Opera, Chrome, default browser) and Google Maps just randomly hang for about 2 minutes as they try to load data from Wi-Fi and 4G signals. It's similar to what happens with YouTube but they eventually fix themselves after these long hiccups.
4) Often when the backlight turns off before the phone is going to sleep and I touch the screen to keep it awake, the backlight gets stuck in its turned off state, making it hard to see the screen. The only way to get around this is to put the phone to sleep and then wake it up. It does this at least a few times a day.
5) Pulling down the notification bar will sometimes randomly cause my phone screen to start flashing between the notification bar and the lock screen. I have to do a hard reset when this happens.
Thanks in advance for the help! I'm sorry this post is so long. I hate this update and am seriously considering going to HTC.
Have you tried a factory reset?
I have not. I was trying to avoid that if possible and use a last resort.

Click to collapse
It's probably your best option. But first try clearing data in the offending apps. Or making sure the apps are updated, or even unibnstalling and reinstalling the apps.

[Q] Sleep issues and unwanted apps

I have an N910F with Android 4.4.4, a few weeks old.
There are two issues that annoy me, perhaps they are related.
1. Sometimes when I get the phone out I find that it hasn't gone to sleep after the last use. There doesn't seem to be any one app that is keeping it awake. As a test I've been making a point of closing all apps, but even then it sometime stays awake.
2. Sometimes when I check Active Apps and Data Usage I find that Google Play Music, Google Play Movies and/or Evernote have started and used data. I don't use any of these and have stopped them all several times in Application Manager, but they just start up again at random.
Can anyone suggest how I can stamp on these problems please?
Thanks!

Maps navigation pops up by itself

Happened to me about 6 times, usually after I use and then close Navigation. No biggie, just wondering if it's happening to anyone else. Running latest factory stock.
This is also happening to me. It's quite annoying. Closing the app and clearing it from the recently used apps doesn't fix it. When I force kill the app, the next time I open it the problem starts happening again.

[Q] SM-N900V Intermittent WiFi Modem

My Note 3 has recently started having an issue where it would randomly disable WiFi and when I go to re-enable it the icon partially lights up for a minute as if it is working on it and then after a little while it will go out again and stay disabled. Does anyone know what may cause this?
Would a bad battery which has expanded cause this? The phone feels like the battery may be a bit bloated again.
A couple weeks ago I had the same issue and Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Slides were all launching themselves non-stop, I had to close them and then quickly force stop and uninstall them before they came up again and blocked me. After these apps were removed I was able to connect to WiFi again. It seemed like they were taking up all of my processing power so the phone could not finish starting the wifi modem. But now I am stumped as to why the wifi will not turn on this time. No apps seem to be trying to take over the screen like the Gsuite apps did.
I still don't know why the Gsuite apps started misbehaving out of nowhere. Any insight on that would be great too.
Thank you.
Replacing the battery with one that is less bloated appears to have resolved the wifi issue. But some apps keep stopping randomly.
