Happened to me about 6 times, usually after I use and then close Navigation. No biggie, just wondering if it's happening to anyone else. Running latest factory stock.
This is also happening to me. It's quite annoying. Closing the app and clearing it from the recently used apps doesn't fix it. When I force kill the app, the next time I open it the problem starts happening again.

2 days ago, my G1 started acting up. Randomly rebooting too often, middle of a call etc. I was digging around, even checked log cat without much luck. Then I seem to have isolated the problem. In the past Google Maps updates usually borked things on my old Enom rom. So I went in and checked. After I loaded it, it gave me a message saying it updated itself. Then I went into settings for it and cleared the cache and map tiles. Since then no more reboots or odd issues.
I had tried to "Clear Cache" in recovery too which didnt do anything. So it does seem to be just google maps related stuff. So I wanted to post this in case anyone else had the same issue. Been using my G1 for 4 years now. Would hate to stop using it heh.
It's a conspiracy--they're trying to force you to upgrade your phone already.
Happening across all devices

This isn't specific to the G1, I had to uninstall maps on my sensation because it was causing reboots.
Yea now its all doing it again.. I may just uninstall maps. Then reinstall it and leave the "auto update" off. Its very annoying, cause Maps is one of the 1st things that loads on bootup.
Edit: Ok things of interest.. took sim out (that later using airplane mode with sim in) no more rebooting. How odd. T-mobile issue somehow I wonder? Or one of their apps.
Well I wondered if it had been Visual Voicemail.. but thats been inconclusive since right after I rebooted, Google Maps decided to download itself again after I had just uninstalled it... >.>
Has anyone else experienced Google's Navigation crashing back to the Maps app? I see this a few times a week. Today I saw a weird artifact forming a wavy line going from the bottom left to the top right, then the app crashed. Normally it just crashed without artifacts, and sometimes the dot representing me vanishes. Tried clearing Maps' cached data but it still happens.
Generally it remembers the navigation request and after the crash I can click the blue arrow to bring Navigation back up. Odd quirk, never happens on my Gingerbread phone.

Yes Im having crashes wit googled navigation as well. When I start the app, it waits fort GPS land when I touch the screen the program closes. And the drive home widget doesn't work at all.
I have thuis probleem on my 2 nexus7 machines running Android 4.2.1. On my HTC wildfire S running Android 2.3.5 it works fine though.
I cleared the app data and cache, and I've reset it once. After those, it works fine for me. Curious.

I tried on a Qware pro 3 tablet running Android 4.03 and it works fine. And this machine doesn't even has GPS. On the Nexus 7 running android
4.2.1 the google navigation app can't connect to the GPS and keeps waiting, while the drive home widget keeps
o try to sync ( with GPS I think).
I sometimes have the N7 forget to see GPS satellites. Sometimes opening GPSTest+ helps, other times nothing. Since factory resetting it after installing 4.2.1, it has worked fine for me.
Ever since the last OTA update I have been fighting frequent (5-6 times a day) system crashes. This will happen in a any app, or when I am using the dialer. It happens most frequently in Chrome, but I think that's because that is my most used program. When it crashes the screen goes black and comes back up with the main screen, Bluetooth disconnects and reconnects and the main screen has to reload. It's not a reboot just a crash and recover. I took it to Best Buy and had them reflash the ROM, clear the cache, and take the phone back to factory. The OTA downloaded and installed. I'm completely stock, no weird apps, mostly just business use. Crashes in banking app, holiday inn app, strava, garmin, dialer, chrome, no pattern or reason. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Could the SD or SIM card be causing this?
Not really sure what's going on here the Facebook for example was working fine and now it crashes upon opening I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling that seems to fix the issue for a few and then the crash resumes. I've cleared data and Cache again it helps for a bit and the crash resumes anyone experiencing something similar?
Are you rooted or unrooted? Some times root likes to play with our hearts some times when it comes to apps. And some times even if unrooted as well. See if you can go back to the previous version by searching on Google for the apk. Just to see if it isn't just an update that just occurred on the app. It happened from time to time.

Hi folks,
I let my phone (6T, international version, completely stock never rooted), update to Android 11 this morning.
One thing is bugging me so far: at random times, I'll get brief flashes of some other window popping up momentarily (too fast for me to see what it is), and then it goes away. But it throws games into pause mode and takes me out of the flow.
What's causing this and how do I turn it off?
Welll this is not a normal behavior, so noone know why and how. Seems android 11 is not yet stable for us. I rolled back to android 10 on my 6T mclaren
Progress update: this problem seems to have resolved itself. I think it may have had to do with each app gradually settling in. A few reboots and some hours later the phone seems stable, though I'm having a few smaller issues like my phone icon left my home screen, I've now got TWO "Contacts" apps, and other minor stuff.
More update... the popups are back. I think they happen frequently after a reboot then settle down over time. I will keep an eye on it and report back anything I find in case it helps others.
Partial solution: I filmed what was going on in slow motion and despite my hand being in the way I saw the popup said "Gallery kee" presumably "Gallery Keeps Closing" or something like that. I don't use the Gallery app so I disabled it in Settings\Apps. Let's see if the problem keeps up. Maybe other apps are also contributing, and I'll have to address them one by one.
After a full day and another reboot for unrelated reasons, I can confirm that disabling the Gallery app fixed the problem. Not a single popup since I disabled it. Since I never use Gallery, only Google Photos, for me it's no loss. Probably a cache wipe would have sufficed as well. I did a a full cache wipe today to address a Gmail issue, and at some point I'll re-enable Gallery and see if the problem recurs despite the cache wipe.
