We need more information to help you.
When does this error code arrives?
Which custom rom? Which google play store version?
First suggestions:
Try to clear the App Cache of google play store or the app you wanted to install
Settings > Apps > All > Playstore > Clear Cache and Data
Unmount the SD Card:
Unmount SD Card, then try to Update/Download the app and then remount SD Card.
Settings > Storage > Unmount SD Card -> Then download the app which was causing problems.
Settings > Storage > Re-Mount SD Card
Move the App to the internal Storage:
Settings > Apps > All > Select app > Moe to internal storage

if i on a orginal rom and as soon as i flash twrp and disable encryption this problem also accuar on the orginal rom.
and i tried the things you wrote... only time play store is working downloading apps in when im on stock rom.. Help.
Have this same problems on two s7 edge and have one s7 flat and with that is was no problems.
Getting the error as soon as i activate write in twrp.. any idea?
UPDATE: fixed it, its working now its was a problem with format data in twrp

You checked the MD5 of your download? If you're unable to download it again, sounds like a dodgy download.

This fix error 963

The fix is install orginal rom.
Then boot it up
Next step is to turn of the phone and enter download mode and flash twrp
next step is to boot twrp
then you swipe right to read and write
go to wipe and here is whats i did wrong all the times. dont press advanced wipe to format data and get error and then change partition to ext3 and format data to get the write function to work.
JUST PRESS THE FORMAT DATA TO THE RIGHT NOT ADVANCED WIPE.
then reboot recovery and flash no-verity-opt.encrypt-2.1.zip
then go to wipe and advance wipe and format all except your external sdcard.
Then install the rom and it will work

Yup, I assumed you were able to mount data in TWRP. If not you needed to format

[Help Me] Apps on Sd Poofed !

Hi, i am currently using Kyrillos Rom V 7.0 Non OC.
Yesterday,my phone battery drained to the end (not a problem until here).
When i arrived home i turned it on after charging for a while, but them, all my apps were gone. I can still see them at the Aplications Manager, but i cant "move to phone" (the box is hidden).
I got my SD card formated using a swap and a Ext4 partition so i can use Apps2SD+ and it was working fine for like 1 Month.
Also, my Market can't install any app anymore, since it shows "File Package is not Valid" message.
What i've tried :
1 - Setting / Storage / unmount - > mount Sd Card
2 - Recovery Mode -> Mount and Storage -> Mount Ext , Mount Sdcard , rebooted.
Nothing Worked,
I hope someone can help me.
Thanks.

Will this Wipe all my apps on Sd ?
I dont want to wipe my Sd card data by any means : (
Since i cant backup it using Titaniun Backup because i can't install it from market,i dont want to wipe my SD.
What exactly this "Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache" does ?
EDIT : Ok, Seems it doesn't destroy any piece of user data.
Wipping it now,and will be back to tell what happened
Didn't worked.
Any other help ?
This same thing happened to one of my very good friends Jinxskore. He then had to wipe data, cache and dalvik. All three. Then it was normal again. Your data will be lost I am afraid.

Fack.
Well,i am still looking for a non hardcore solution, hope i find it .
Thanks anyway.
Anyone else ?
I'm starting to lose my faith : (
Try to use Titanium Backup, install it from your pc!
I have the same thing every time I boot up. After my media scanner is finished it just doesn't show my apps. Only sometimes when I wait very long it shows them. So I try to keep my phone on as long as I can. But I can't install apps from the market either. I touch for example 'free' press accept and it just doesn't start downloading anything! But a reboot fixes the install problem most of the time for a while...
Btw what kinda sd card are you using? I have a 16gb class 2.
So I blame my problems to that.
I have an idea
Hey about Contacts and SMS backup use relavant apps. Contacts can be backed up on Sd card and copied to pc, I dont think sms backup needed you can let them go if they are important PM me to tell you a method. I hope you have root explorer. If no download it from a PC file sharing website and simply install it. Go to /-->data-->app Copy all apks of your installed apps to sd.
Now you wont lose your apps. Backup SD. I would recommend to use *2676*3855# and Hard Reset/ Factory Format your phone. Format SD after complete backup and re partition do all again, set up phone enjoy it again.

I messed up again.

this is what i did:
> back up aurora
> repartition it
> restore from nandroid backup
> repartition to stock
> tried to install froyo
> "update failed"
> tried cwm and geno's recoveries to restore nandroid backup
> "error while formatting /data"
> tried installing gingerbread
> update failed
> tried both of those recovery.imgs again
> "error while formatting /data"
now it got stuck on huawei logo.
i believe the update would work if i could reach my internal sd card to put dload but i can't. i tried qtadb but it doesn't show my the internal sd card.
does anyone think there is a solution for this? or else i'll give my phone to the service and they'll change the motherboard as they always do. :silly:
What a mess man :/
Have you tried to put dload folder on sdcard, and, without battery and conected only with charger, turn it on by pressing vol + / vol- / power ?

Use some linux live sd and in pink screen format /data manually. This probably would work.

[Q]How to Restore Apps from 2nd Partition MMC SGY

alright. i am new here btw. i dont know if someone has already posted this kind of problem on SGY. some were kinda too savvy when i try to relate my problem on other threads.
here it goes:
few months before, i rooted my SGY phone from gingerbread to jelly blast and i successfully did it well. then, i had partitioned my SGY's 8GB MMC. i successfully partitioned my mmc and got extra 1GB for internal memory so that i can install more apps. i had also managed to transfer apps with huge amount of datas to the 2nd partition - to free up space on the real internal memory. everything was perfect until...
i got my phone wet by accident - but not internally and it would not start no matter what. got it repaired by a tech, found out that the power amp was grounded. made some sortings and it was working again.
little did i know that there was a collateral damage - all settings has been reset. i lost my apps, my contacts, messages, and anything saved on the phone. but it's still rooted and runs jelly blast. the problem is that since i made a 2nd partition of my mmc, i cant get them back up again. when i try to go to link2sd>storage info>SD card 2nd Part. and it still shows used 312MB so the apps are possibly in it.
can someone please help me on how to get them back or restored? any advice would be very much appreciated. thanks.
tried to go on google play but wasn't of help.
I don't think so it is possible to restore from 2nd partition
But I have an idea don't know work or not
go to data folder by using root explorer or anything else
Then search for sd-ext or sd-ext2 and look, there is any apps present or not
If not then open link2sd and clear 2nd partition your memory will be free
press thanks if i help you

XDA PREMIUM
Another idea:
Boot a Live Linux from your PC and mount your sd card, then c&p your content to another partition.
Did this on my old Smartphone with 2 Partitions fat32+ext4
Hope that helps

Ey, thanks! I went to my File Explorer>Settings>Root Explorer. I found "data" folder > sdext2 and when i opened it - i saw all the apps i have installed and moved to the 2nd partition! hooray for that!!
i tried to test by clicking on one app, it then opened asking me to use package installer or app system installer. i ran package installer, got warning about installing unknown resources (though the apps came from google play).. so i enabled unknown resources. installed it. :fingers-crossed:
it worked - the app got restored!!! is this the right thing to do or was there anything that should be done first? :highfive:
and other questions:
a. link2sd asked me what should be mounted on sd card. i remember from the time i began to partition - i chose ext3. but now on the sd card, when i got the data folder, it shows all my apps on sdext2 folder. which one should i mount? EXT2 or EXT3?
b. due to all this incident, whenever i turn my phone on - it keeps on telling me that the com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. how do i fix this? PS i remember while searching on data folder where i got sdext2, i found another data folder. it shows there com.android.phone but i dont know how to configure this.

i tried that successfully but unfortunately, it didnt work. i got additional error message: the process com.android.mms has stopped unexpectedly.
what could have been wrong?
i tried to copy the folder com.android.phone and com.android.mms from the system root to the sd card android folder but things are still the same. issue persists..

Phone running slow ??try this method to increase internel storage

Be aware you need a rooted device and a sd card before you do this
first install a app called link2sd or any other alternative app
then backup your sd card.....
then boot into cwm <recovery> and then go to advanced options partition sd card ....select the storage space needed and then click ok ,swap size should be 0 in the next page.reboot.
go to the app i mentioned above it will ask for "select the type of you sd cards second partition you need to select<mostly ext 2 ><but if it does not work out then try out the trial and error method nothing will go wrong!!1> then it will create mount scripts and ask to reboot device reboot you will have your sd card second partition ready then using the app move the applications to the 2nd partition.
do not move system apps or important apps i tested it it works please dont forget to hit the thanks button

Can't install app - insufficient storage available

Notification: I have been asked by Droidriven to move my question from XDA Assist Forum to this Forum !!!
================================================================
I cannot install anymore applications. I got an error "Can't install app - insufficient storage available".
I lack place on my device, so I move app as much as I can to the External card using AParted and Link2SD.
I found out that every time I want to link to SD card with Link2SD I got a warning: "NOT MOUNTED - /data/sdext2 mount not found"
When Link2SD starts, it opens a window asking to select my SD card's second partition from the following list: ext2, ext3, ext4 (the others are irrelevant). Whatever I choose I get an Mount script error "Mount script cannot be created. Mount invalid argument".
I checked the Storage Info (using the Link2SD app), and found that all the "partitions" - like Internal, SDcard, External SD, System and Cache - have some data and the percentage of free place - except "SD Card 2nd Partition" that remains empty. There is even a label that says "NOT MOUNTED".
I searched my phone trying to find the "sdext2" to mount it (how do I do it?) - but I couldn't find it. This is an CATCH 22 situation  I cannot download and install app but I can continue to use my phone with a lot of app removed!
Is there a way to delete the /data/sdext2?
is there a way to mount the ext2?
How can I repair it?
Somebody with some help?! Please, don't recommend me to use the frightened FACTORY RESET - I had enough of this solution!
thanks, Roby

Do you have root explorer set and mount R/W set correctly?

I use Root Explorer. I found "sdext2" ! It is under "root" as follows: "/data/sdext2". Its permissions are "rwxrwx--x". I unchecked the last "x" (it shows on the column of Other Execute) but it didn't saved! Why?
Are you sure you followed instructions to setup Link2SD correctly?

I don't remember I believe so. I bought the Link2SD Plus more than one year ago.

YES!... and rooted!~!!
I cannot install anymore applications in my GT-i9505
My GT-i9505 fell down and seems something went wrong! I cannot install anymore applications. I got an error "Can't install app - insufficient storage available".

I cannot link or remove system app. System app that have the option to "Link to SD Card" or to "Remove Link", they encountered with a warning: "NOT MOUNTED - /data/sdext2 mount not found" Moving user applications from SD Card to Phone is no problem at all.
I checked the Storage Info (using the Link2SD app), and found that all the "partitions" - like Internal, SDcard, External SD, System and Cache - have some data - except "SD Card 2nd Partition" that remains empty. There is even a label that says "NOT MOUNTED".

What could happen if I delete Link2SD and Link2SD Plus, I restart the phone and install Link2SD again?
Is there a way to repair it? XDA Senior members, you are the geeks here, aren't you? Please, I ran out of ideas!
I don't want to FACTORY RESET my phone - I had enough of this solution!
I am afraid that all my data will be wiped off!
thanks, Roby[/QUOTE]
Flash a custom recovery, backup your data, do a factory reset.
Or use Titanium Backup to backup your apps and do a factory reset or flash another rom.
