[Help Me] Apps on Sd Poofed ! - Galaxy 3 General

Hi, i am currently using Kyrillos Rom V 7.0 Non OC.
Yesterday,my phone battery drained to the end (not a problem until here).
When i arrived home i turned it on after charging for a while, but them, all my apps were gone. I can still see them at the Aplications Manager, but i cant "move to phone" (the box is hidden).
I got my SD card formated using a swap and a Ext4 partition so i can use Apps2SD+ and it was working fine for like 1 Month.
Also, my Market can't install any app anymore, since it shows "File Package is not Valid" message.
What i've tried :
1 - Setting / Storage / unmount - > mount Sd Card
2 - Recovery Mode -> Mount and Storage -> Mount Ext , Mount Sdcard , rebooted.
Nothing Worked,
I hope someone can help me.
Thanks.

Will this Wipe all my apps on Sd ?
I dont want to wipe my Sd card data by any means : (
Since i cant backup it using Titaniun Backup because i can't install it from market,i dont want to wipe my SD.
What exactly this "Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache" does ?
EDIT : Ok, Seems it doesn't destroy any piece of user data.
Wipping it now,and will be back to tell what happened

Didn't worked.
Any other help ?

This same thing happened to one of my very good friends Jinxskore. He then had to wipe data, cache and dalvik. All three. Then it was normal again. Your data will be lost I am afraid.

Thanks anyway.

Anyone else ?
I'm starting to lose my faith : (

Try to use Titanium Backup, install it from your pc!

I have the same thing every time I boot up. After my media scanner is finished it just doesn't show my apps. Only sometimes when I wait very long it shows them. So I try to keep my phone on as long as I can. But I can't install apps from the market either. I touch for example 'free' press accept and it just doesn't start downloading anything! But a reboot fixes the install problem most of the time for a while...
Btw what kinda sd card are you using? I have a 16gb class 2.
So I blame my problems to that.

I have an idea
Hey about Contacts and SMS backup use relavant apps. Contacts can be backed up on Sd card and copied to pc, I dont think sms backup needed you can let them go if they are important PM me to tell you a method. I hope you have root explorer. If no download it from a PC file sharing website and simply install it. Go to /-->data-->app Copy all apks of your installed apps to sd.
Now you wont lose your apps. Backup SD. I would recommend to use *2676*3855# and Hard Reset/ Factory Format your phone. Format SD after complete backup and re partition do all again, set up phone enjoy it again.

How would you restore the SD Cache after a wipe? (To fully be back before the wipe)

Hey all, been spending the past couple days searching and reading various topics on this. My G1 if you rem the post went into the looping thing which I had to wipe to have it come back up. Now I used lucids script which relinked everything yes... including the looping reboot. So started from scratch again. Was times when I DID get it to show up but root, terminal were missing afterwords, Wipe/upgrade again. Now all I have done so far is JUST moved the apps, I havent touched the cache yet. Which at least now it shows my apps installed. Now I just need the config data back (Data) to complete the setup I had again.
How would you have the G1 go back to using the SD for the cache mapping. Would you move the cache (which isnt a good idea) back to the G1 then redo? I just wanna get everything back to 100% the partitions is fine and so since it does boot fine. I just dont wanna attempt to move the cache again only for phone to reboot and wind up missing its apps again and no root support till I wipe and start over again.
I want this all back since I had my G1 since it came out, Market cache is big, which yes I can manually restore that, but I rather do it all clean in one good move.
Anyways if anyone here knows how to relink a cache without it causing issues would be great. (Also the de cache is still on internal too) I did install the img from lucid tho for booting.
No one has any ideas or insight to this one? =/
It depends on what version of app2sd u are using or I should say it depends on the ROM. If you are upgrading to a ROM that uses Marcus's apps2sd u should be fine to follow instructions below. If u are using old apps2sd, then use Lucid's script to re-link to sd card after upgrade.
Copy all files from the sd card back to the phone, upgrade, then put them back on the sd card using apps2sd
Well can I copy the cache over to the internal and so, then move them back? The apps are linked fine to the SD atm, Im using Lucids. JF 1.51 US.
The cache, what is that exactly? Is that just the user data it creates after you run the program or what.

Clean Start on JM2 Question

So I was thinking since I have been downloading, trying, messing, uninstalling, installing etc etc
You get the picture.
Was thinking of giving my Galaxy a bit of a clean.
So my thoughts were:
Option A
1. Make a record of what programs I actually like not what I have installed.
Maybe screen shots might be the idea.
2. Factory data reset my Galaxy.
3. Unmount and format my internal memory
4. Unmount and format my SDCard
5. Do settings and account
6. Install applications.
7. Transfer music.
Sound like a good idea??
Option B
Someone said I should clean out what applications I don't want first and suggested an easier method.
1. Backup data and system settings with BackupPro
2. Backup applications with AppMonster
3. Factory reset.
4. Unmount and format my internal memory
5. Unmount and format my SDCard
6. Install applications Appmonster
7. Install settings and data BackupPro
8. Transfer music.
Which option would be better. Would I get some bad data if I did Option B.
Advice greatfully received.
MyBackup (a back up program ) lets you choose what programs to backup.
You could just backup what you need you want to keep, hard reset it, and put what you want back on.
Thats my suggestion. I'll be doing this soon, I've been messing around so much with it!
Yeah one of my options is to do this.
I have folders and junk left over from Applications I have uninstalled.
If I installed Clockwork will it be removed with a Factory Data reset or should I flash the phone again with JM2.?
ClockworkMod is stored on the internal SD card, so a factory reset shouldn't remove it (I'm not sure if flashing a firmware wipes the internal SD though).
Try TitaniumBackup for your backup needs.
Why do you want to format the SDCard? Is that really necessary? Does it really improve the performance? (I hope not, transfering 14Gb of music files is just too much)
And, do you a perform a factory reset from the settings/privacy menu on the galaxy or from the bootscreen (that is triggered by adb reboot command). I have the idea that the first option is much more thorough than the second.

For JP2 their was a noticable improvement after reformating the SDCard.
Since I have a lot of left over folders and what's not was thinking this could be a good time to clean up.
I would use the Settings>Privacy>Factory Data Reset.

[Q] How to fix startup

Nook Simple touch , I used Touchnooter, everything was fine until I checked the box on startup to select nook instead of ADB start.
Now the Nook ST flashes black and white.
how do I fix this? I don't don't want to loose my sons' documents .
Thank you.
your documents are in sdcard or in internal memory (media partition) . anyway they don't deleted unless you delete them yourself .
restore and reroot can be done to solve this problem .

you can format system and data and cache partitions .
then restore with 8 missed boot or any method that works !
Restored
I restored the Nst including the boot , still have same problem, could it be hardware?
as before the blinking stops when I go to settings which makes me think it is software?
are you format data and cache in recovery mode ? you must delete all remaining files from previous root .

Format SD card

Is it safe to format SD card via Clockwork mode recovery?
Recovery - - > mounts and storage -> format /sdcard
Is it safe to do so? after installing ROM?
If you format your sdcard you delete ALL what is on your phone. When you only want to have a clear and fast rom without apps and deleted data but want to keep your personal files then use the point in Cwm "format data" it deletes all of your devices apps and this is the only way that has something to do with flashing a new rom.

[Q] After restore apps keep crashing

Hello,
I have an Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) and last week I thought lets install some ported S5 apps. Well some of them were working but unfortenely most of them weren't. Had alot of crashes and my phone was unusable, so I decided to restore back to the original software.
Before I installed all those S5 apps I made an complete backup using CWM Recovery (Version 6.0.4.7). Now when I the restore completed without errors I constant get errors:
The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
Google Play-services has stopped.
Google Partner Setup has stopped.
Those errors return in 1 second after clicking away......
Also after some minutes the phone kinda reboots.. The Samsung Boot Logo shows up but that "reboot" is done after 5-10 seconds. And without any need of entering SIM-Code.
I've tried many options:
Clean install the firmware (works but then i've lost all my data
Advanced restore of sd-ext but then it won't restore anything...... Because when I wipe data/factory reset the following error shows up:
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /cache...
Formatting /sd-ext...
E: unknown volume for path [/sd-ext]
Formatting /sdcard/.android_secure...
Data wipe complete.
Tried wipe Dalviks Cache
Tried mounting sd_ext (also mounted any other option just to be sure) and used AROMA FileManager to acces my files but no acces to sd_ext....
If I trie to restore again the following error shows u:
.android_secure.img not found. Skipping restore of sd/card/.android_secure
The issue is that I can get my phone working without errors, but then I've lost ALL my data like photos/videos etc...
A clean install isn't a problem as long I can get my data back, app data like data from games isn't an issue.
Extra info:
OS KitKat 4.4.2 (I9505XXUFNB8_I9505PHNFNB3_PHN)
Rooted with: CF Auto Root jflte
Thanks in advance for your help!
What I would do is to save the data from your internal and external sd that you want to keep.
Then format them both.
So in your case, export your photos and videos to your pc. Format both sd and then try to restore your backup after fully wiping. My guess is that would fix it.

Yeah that's my plan but one problem...
I can't access my internal storage, even not when I try connecting it with USB... It keeps saying installing samsung mobile driver. (usb drivers is already installed, tried it with 4 different computers)
That's strange. Can't you just copy it to your external sd or use something like Airdroid to copy the files over wifi.
Unfortunaly not... My phone while android is loaded is unusable, the errors come back immediatly after clicking away.... I think the problem is that my all my backups are corrupted... I have 3 backup which I am 100% sure of that my phone worked 100% correctly when I made these backups. All of them give the same errors now, and none of them place my files back.
What I don't understand is why your data on your internal sd would be lost when you wipe your device.
Normally wiping in the recovery doesn't touch your internal sd. Why does it in your case? It only wipes your internal sd when you select that option which is hidden in the recovery.
I have the same issue

Do you wipe before restoring?
as already mentioned, copy your important stuff and then do a full wipe including system, data, cache, dalvik, internal and external storage

In 99% of the casus there is no need to wipe internal/external storage. He would probably not have to do it.

I'm having exactly the same issue. I've tried wiping everything and it still doesn't seem to work. Could you please tell me how you exactly got this to work? Thanks
