Anyone recieve the update that has been released today? If so, does it enable LTE advance? I still haven't found what improvements the 436mb update brings us..

I don't believe there is anything that "enables" LTE advanced. Otherwise I don't see any improvements in particular. I believe, other than it being a security update, it has something to do with the mods.
How do I get Verizon LTE Advanced?
It's easy. You get Verizon LTE Advanced just by using a compatible device in more than 450 cities across the US. Only with Verizon.
You'll get an automatic software update, but you don't have to sign up, make any changes to your device settings or change your plan.
This is on Verizon's site. I've looked through a few forums abd haven't seen anyone post any significant download speeds so I figured a software update is needed to get LTE advance working.

I guess it depends on what is considered the "latest" software. Personally I have noticed a bump in speeds at my work location. I'm actually GETTING 4G LTE now, rather than 3G but whether is due to the something in the update or if it's just an improvement in the network in this area I couldn't say.

Does this update automatically if we are rooted? If not, how do we update it? Any risk of losing root doing so?

Also, can I update HTC Firmware without losing root? Which is the dangerous one, Software or Firmware Update?

Update is a go in Kansas City...I'm pretty sure when the PRL updates are rolled out they are nationwide.

As for any concern of losing root. You should never lose root doing a PRL update. Now doing a Firmware or HTC update coupld possibily knock you out of having root access. That's why a lot of rom's disable the automatic updates.
How about the HTC Software Update?
Thanks for the heads up OP!

+1. please.
"The Preferred Roaming List (PRL) is a database residing in a wireless (primarily CDMA) device, such as a cellphone, that contains information used during the system selection and acquisition process. In the case of RUIM-based CDMA devices, the PRL resides on the RUIM. The PRL indicates which bands, sub bands and service provider identifiers will be scanned and in what priority order. Without a PRL, the device may not be able to roam, i.e. obtain service outside of the home area. There may be cases where missing or corrupt PRL's can lead to a customer not having service at all." - Wikipedia
In simple terms its just telling the phone which towers/network it prefers to use. I use PRL hack to use Verizon because I was receiving text messages rather late with the 60671 PRL so i have been using PRL 00001 can anyone confirm if that seems to still be an issue with 60672?

I dont think that your getting texts late is going to be common nationwide. I get mine rather quickly with 60671 and I live in southern utah. It may just be a tower issue or something in your area.
Confirmed as well even though they have been made flashable updates recently

Canadian providers are horrible with updates. I used to have a Rogers Nokia E71 that never got any updates at all. I would have been stuck to the original firmware if I didn't knew how to change the phone ID to be able to load Vanilla International firmware. No less than 5 firmware updates were released when Rogers got ZERO.
I don't think I will ever buy another carrier branded phone after my AT&T Atrix.

Actually Telus isn't too bad. Their HTC Desire was on schedule, plus the SGH-T959D was perfectly on time for updates.
I just wish Telus had this phone instead of Bell. IMO they are a lot more on top of things...
On Bell's website, it now lists that the Atrix is 4G, it has that beside the Incredible S and Desire Z as well.
See attachment as proof.
A software update is now available for the Bell version of the Motorola Atrix!
- To download the update manually:
Go to Menu > Settings > About Phone > Software Update
- I'm not sure what the size of the update file is, but I would suggest downloading it over WiFi as opposed to the Bell network so you don't exceed your data allowance and incur extra charges.
- Ensure that your phone is at least 50% charged before attempting the update. Idealy, charge it beyond 50% to be safe.
-- The updated version is v37.23 and brings Android Froyo up to version 2.2.2, and contains numerous updates:
Upload Data Speed
Increased upload speed at which data can travel on the network.
Data and Voice Connection
Improvements to prevent interruptions to data and voice connection.
Screen
Improvements to prevent screen from freezing.
Skype
Improvements to call audio function so it is easier for the person you called to hear you. Please note this application is not pre-loaded on phone, but is available for download from Android Market.
Wi-Fi
Increased functionality by enabling Yahoo Email to be sent over a Wi-Fi connection.
Display
Improved International Roaming Warning Message by simplifying user notification so that it only appears on the screen when you move to a new network.
Happening Widget
Improved Happenings Widget to ensure that you receive the latest updates across the social networks you are connected to such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter.
Calling
Improvements were made to incoming and outgoing call functionality to ensure a more seamless experience
Expanded Language Support for Webtop
Accented character support within Webtop application.
Improved Support for POP/SMTP Email
Support for SMTP outgoing servers that do not require authentication
Improved Exchange Performance
Improved Exchange Email/Calendar/Contacts performance
Size is about 40mb. Downloading now, will let you know how it goes...

After activating my 6p on AT&T I noticed slow LTE speeds compared to my Nexus 5 (not just speed tests, actual browsing/usage). Contacted AT&T support to verify IMEI and SIM information and they did some sort of SIM refresh on their end. After that I was getting around 70-80mbps speed tests for a few days but now the speeds have dropped back down to 5-10mbs (if that).
I've tried switching to PHONE and PTA APN's and no difference is observed. I am not on an unlimited plan so no throttling should be taking place.
My friend who is also using a 6p on AT&T is seeing the exact same behavior and had the exact same results after contacting support (fast speeds after refresh but slows down after a few days).
Has anyone else been experiencing this issue with AT&T or any other carriers? I'm not sure if this is a radio firmware problem worth reporting to Google or something on AT&T's side.
I'm having this same problem, my s4 was at least double the LTE speed of my 6P, I've been searching for a fix but this thread is the only one I've found so far, I did see VZW post where you can dial a certain number and select bands, I'm hoping someone can share a fix life that for us on AT&T
same here ... very slow compared to all the other phones I have that are AT&T branded and much slower compared to Nexus 5 and OPO. Also every time I call somebody, phone drops down to "H" and then connects the call. No calls over LTE.
I'm having the same issue and lately I keep loosing my lte and seeing only the H for 4g

yeah but i was having issues before the update
I wonder if it's something with AT&T network and this phone. I'll have full bars (LTE) and no service quiet often. I live in south florida, so we generally have great reception for every carrier.
The issue started for me as soon as I upgraded. I tried the older radio as well. I went back to Chroma 6.0 and all is well. I did star the issue in the tracker.
Well I just got off with att and they reset my connection to the network and so far so good. Lte all around. I will watch the next few days and let you all know

I have actually gotten the same problem, after updating my 6p to 6.0.1, I have lost my LTE and just stayed at H.
I haven't done nothing other than updating, I really hope this gets fixed soon, the speeds arent that bad but I am used to having LTE all around
Well I called att this am at around 8am and tight now at 6pm its been solid. They made me shut off my phone and basically set up my phone network wise as a new phone and boom LTE everywhere
Happening again. I reset network settings and boom all is well for two days
I found a recent post on reddit where a user was having issues with the phone connecting/losing LTE. After troubleshooting with AT&T support they indicated the "APN type" setting was missing an entry and in the improper order.
Changing to the proper order fixed his and others LTE issues and so far it appears that it has fixed my speed issues as well.
The fix applies to both nextgenphone and phone APN's.
Default APN Type on 6p = default,mms,supl,fota,hipri
Correct APN Type from AT&T support = default, admin, fota, mms, supl, hipri
Hopefully this helps.
I have installed the LTE update published today. The store rep told me yesterday that VoWiFi is also coming in this update, but apparently it did not, at least I wasn't able to find option to enable it anywhere in the UX. Does anyone know whether it actually made it in the update?
Where do you live? I received the LTE update as well...but in my area we arent getting LTE until fall.

No one has a fix?
I called the sprint store and the guy said lots of these new S10 series phones have connectivity issues.
He said their tech has a fix for it but it may not be effective. He said Samsung needs to release an update to fix it.
I've got the S10+

I used to believe in this statement.. But when I walk around with a phone from Verizon (business), Srint (Personal) and AT&T hotspot service, I realized this is very not true.
There are locations where each carrier is stronger than others. At one of my job site, Verizon and AT&T fail to connect at all constant roaming and drop calls while Sprint skips along like no body cares.
Point, additionally, as each carrier acquire and deploy new bands, they need to be built out so the newer devices that support the bands can utlize it relieving the crowded older bands.
HOWEVER, this stupid phone, with SignalCheck Pro installed, I can see the bands I'm on but the signal stregnth is horrible, like at the moment, i'm connected to band 41 but LTE is at -117dBm, that's almost like not having signal at all. Likewise when I'm connected to band 25 and 26.
I tried disabling all those bands and force it onto the lower frequency with hardly any success.

Can you disable or remove that signal check program? Not all sognal check programs are legit.
What country are you in?
That may be part of the problem.
I agree, carriers do have their own pros and cons.

and yes the program can be uninstalled, but it was only installed because I need to troubleshoot this issue, so it's not the program that's causing the problem. It's just telling me what band I'm on and the signal.

It's not just you. There are multiple threads on Sprint's forums with users complaining. My phone constantly roams, the WiFi calling keeps timing out on location and though it says LTE most of the time data doesn't work. Lucky for me I keep a spare phone so I'll be switching back to my iPhone X until they resolve this but there's been no official word on any of this getting resolved so I'm not expecting a solution any time soon. I'm wondering if it was the update I installed that caused this because it seemed like day 1 the phone was ok. Maybe a solution is to use Odin and flash back to the original stock.

I have the sprint version purchased from S
Spent an hour with samsung to no resolution. Took my verizon sim and dropped it on the S10 and the phone was getting good signal and speed then dropped for a couple minutes then back to good speeds. But as it's doing this, the phone started to get very warm. Sprint tech support doesn't know crap, just make me repeat their written process multiple times and the guys at the sprint stores are just salesman.
Since the verizon seems shows intermitten connections as well, i'm going to see if samsung can send me a replacement.
