Hello everybody. Well I dropped my phone now I have pink line on the screen. This is the second time this has happened. Does anyone know what causes this? I bel8eve it has something to do with a sodier connection. It is a manufacturer defect. However s8nce it is the international version and I live in the US no Samsung Warranty. What I am unsure of is how to fix it? Is it the LCD screen, digitizer or something else. Thanks

Stop dropping it like it's hot

Not very helpful. I am going to get it fixed but would like to know what needs replaced.

Help me understand this... You dropped your phone, damaged your screen, and you call it a manufacturer defect?...
The S7(e) doesn't use an LCD. Your AMOLED panel is wrecked.
Drop my phone in a case 1 foot onto a carpeted floor. I now have a pink line 2 phone this has happened to exact same location on the screen. I believe that I somehow ended with phones that have defective screens. Every drop test video I have seen doesn't show the pink line after it is dropped.

I recently dropped my phone on its back while it was had a ZeroLemon battery with the provided case attached.
When I picked it up, there was no physical signs of damage.
However, when I turn on the screen, it is blank, with random colors.
I sent it into Samsung as it is still under warranty.
I'm hoping they can repair it for free as there is no sign of physical damage.
They said they received it, and will repair it, but charge me if they find any physical damage.
I provided them no payment information, so how would they charge me?
Do you think they will see physical damage?
Also, how much would it cost for them to repair it?
Thanks everyone in advance.
Oh theyll charge you if you want a fixed device. They'll If glad return it to you with your broken lcd if you opt not to pay when they notify you but chances are they won't charge you. Same happened to my att skyrocket when I dropped it and colors became mixed.

Sounds like broken digitizer you might get refurbished instead of your broken-repaired one.... I have hairline crack on my screen can't feel barley notice but one fall and fatal

Hello!
I bought the Galaxy S4 about two months ago and since then, I always used it with a screen protector and a case. But today, I found that many purple and black spots and smears have formed on the AMOLED. I have never dropped the phone or exposed it to heat. I tried rebooting and activated the LCD test mode, but none of them helped. Is it a hardware issue?
Can anybody tell me what's going on and help me?
Best regards,

Definitely hardware. Looks like the AMOLED itself. If you have warranty, I suggest you use it, because that's hardware, not software.
Hm, thanks for the help, although that certainly isn't good news... I will try to contact Amazon, let's hope they can help me with this problem.
As there is a large concentration of purple in the corner, I'd suggest that Samsung will try and tell you its been dropped and in that case, I don't think they will cover it under warranty.
I wish you luck!

Thank you! Now the purple stains have spread all over the screen, making it very hard to read anything on the screen. This seems to be a very odd issue if you ask me...

Odd indeed ... usually when a screen is damaged or faulty bars appear pixel burned altered colors and stuff ... if i saw that and didn't know i d tell u that u definetely someone spilled ink on the screen ... those marks are exactly like it ... hopefully they ll repair it ...
I think samsung should change it under warranty because clearly, screen is not broken and still degraded. So it's bad display.
But they might say it's caused by water damage which is not covered under warranty.
Let's hope for the best.
They do have a way to tell if it's water damage, there is a sticker which turns blue when wet, so if there is no damage to the case, they should change it fine... I have had good luck with Amazon regarding returning faulty items...

Thank you guys for all the support, I sent it back to Amazon and today I got the mail that they have got the package. Now someone's going to look if this is covered by standard warranty... Let's hope for the best indeed!
Hope they change it for you. As for sure seems the amoled has burned

Wow thats terrible, i hope samsung sort it out for you!
I am curious what happened? I woke up this morning and I had black and purple all over my screen to. It was fine when I went to bed. The last two apps I used were Pandora and Xtreme alarm clock if that matters

but what causes it....i work with lcds all day and have just come across this issue
Hope someone can help as it makes no sense to me.
I have the S7 Edge received from Vodafone UK on March 8th. A week ago it slipped out of my pocket and fell (fairly gently) onto a carpeted wooden floor. There is no physical damage whatsoever and the phone is in as new condition. Except this fall seemed to cause a cluster of stuck pixels on the bottom left of the phone on the curve of the glass. When the screen switched on it also left a white line running from these pixels across the screen.
I tried a factory reset just in case but made no difference. I wasn't surprised as it looked like a standard screen failure. I took it in to Vodafone expecting (hoping) they would replace it.
In fact I got the phone back from them apparently fixed. According to the engineer's notes they updated the phone to the latest firmware and reset it and I have to agree that it seems to be working perfectly again.
The software is G935FXXU1APB4 which I'm pretty sure is what it was previously. I checked the IMEI to make sure they hadn't replaced it with a refurbished model but it's the same as before.
The pixels were on at all times including the AOD but the line only appeared when the screen came on fully.
Any idea about why my factory reset did nothing but they've somehow managed to clear it?

Maybe at the customer service they only reseated some internal loosened connector because of the fall.
I wish I'd taken a photo of the screen. A clump of about 12 pixels permanently on and extending from it a thin white horizontal line that looked very much to me like a screen fault. I can't believe that a loose connector could cause such specific symptoms.
But maybe I'm wrong. Has anyone else experienced that?

Its possible they just replace the screen.
How long did you wait for them to give it back to you?
A screen replacement would take about an hour or 2.
Vs a reset 10 to 15mins
I guess it's possible. They had the phone a week so really anything could have happened.
My suspicions were raised by the engineering notes that came back with the phone but yeah, maybe they just replaced the screen and for whatever reason didn't want to say so.

Hello All,
I have a huge problem with my screen. This one is blinking, Color are weird and I have a line on the top of the screen not moving. So I really that's a screen problem. and Even when I'm in TWRP , I see on the bottom that there is the screen blinking with a lot of color. It's like when you filming your screen with a camera.
Ok I fall few times but it had always a Spigen TPU and the screen has not strachs , nothing.
The problem is that I've already rooter and instal TWRP but it's cleary a problem with the screen but my Know Warranty is at 1 now
Can you help? Maybe if I go back to a stock Firmware, how can make it look more like the standard stock firmware and try to make it repair?
with a little chance?
Can you help pleasE?
Thanks!
This is obviously a hardware problem depending on in which country you are you might want to try to send it in for repair I don't think that the warranty expired because you rooted it can you send us a video showing the problem? Also why do you think the problem occurred? Did you drop the device?
Sent from my SM-G935F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I rooted yes and the flag is at 1.
I've now restore from ODIN official Samsung Release and bootloader so everything is normal.
I drop it but it was protected and the screen is not broken and there is not even a little stractch .
Do you think they will refuse to repair the screen cause of that? It's clearly a problem of screen.
Not so much but like that. On the bottom. Color are weird. And on the top there is a bar whithout Pixels.
Why have you posted your video as Galaxy S3 video problems on your video on the Galaxy S7 Edge forum? And yes, I'm pretty sure that is a S3 phone you are showing us and not an S7 Edge like you think it is.
It's not a S3 I have a S7 I'm just showing that I have almost the same symtoms on my S7
Can't be much help but it sounds a lot like what has happened to mine, but my display has completely gone now, I've had my phone sent of but they just came back saying it was water damaged and not covered under warranty! Let me know how you get on though! Good luck

It probably depends on the region, but that is clearly a hardware failure due to the drop, which has nothing to do with software. So they should repair it.

SO when people said that you lost warranty when you change the bootloader, if it's clearly a problem of Hardware and not software, they can't refuse it in warranty?

At least inside EU, when a failure is a hardware failure and not related to software, they must repair it.
Ok I'll put it in repair tommorow. We'll see
Hi,
I change for the second s7 edge and does the same issue, does anyone have the same problem
Here it is tje video

Maybe it has something to do with the modification you do on the phone. Any app you install. Try a brand new clean on stock and see if it still happens

I already try that after factory reset.
I found out what's the problem
Already found other guy on YouTube do the same.
And i think a lot of s7 edge do the same
Hey guys im buying a used GS6 Edge+ with no damage except the guy says there is a little spot on the display like burnt pixel but it fixes it self with more usage of the phone. He thinks it software because the phone was never dropped for it to happen.Im asking because i don't know anything about dead pixel just that if it has one i need a new screen to fix it. Do you think it can be software or is he lying just to sell the device?

Not necessary that pixel has to be damged by dropping if phone dropped this phone is too delicate i am serious you will know[emoji1] when you see it there will be scratched there near the damaged part but screen pixel could die sometimes even if phone is in pocket and something sharp comes in contact just be careful and see if it doesn't irritate you

Maybe its not dead because he says it disappears if you use the device more.I will ask him for a picture of the spot and then i will see if i will buy it or nah.
