As far as I can tell from reading this forum, the update started rolling out in Germany but only to the dual-sim versions of the phone, both 4.7 and 5.5 inch versions.

Ok, I hope I can do that, because I'm currently on a custom rom.
My only concern is, that I will be updated to Android 6.0 when I use the Mobile Upgrade tool. If that is the case, I won't be able to extract the update like you described it.
But I will give it a try anyway

Yes, but system partition is the same as french one and it's the only one that you can extract
Difference is (perhaps) on modem partition that you can't extract from mbn.raw.
So, try to flash my EU4 (full europe) and give us result.

this is just pathetic. afaik 6039y is the 'main' variant, this is for the western european market. and they keep this phone on 5.0.2 for months after they already updated 6039 in north america.

What you expect when they did exactly the same with 6045Y. Also i dont think that 6039 is the main variant, while it is the budget version of a bigger one.

i mean "y" is the main variant, at least it should be if the western european market matters and imho 6039 is not a budget but a compact version

That's the one thing I don't really know. This is a SONY ROM created specifically for the region of Central Europe, as the company distributes them separately for each region (the screenshot perhaps explains it better). As to if there are any actual differences between them and what they are, I can't tell, maybe someone else can chime in on that.
What's the install procedure in recovery? Should I wipe anything or can easily install over my current kk version?

Since it's a major OS update, a full wipe is recommended. Having read through the posts of some other users, those that have not wiped the data (almost) always ended up with some issue that made them do the wipe later on anyways.
Should i wipe my data if i instal lollipop via OTA ? i have over 100 application so i rather won't do it if it is not necessary

LOL :good: I'm gonna go back to the Asian B137 kitkat as I'm running the European version of B317 at the moment and upgrade from there, I'll see how it goes.
Downloading!
Installed, and works fine, only one problem with root, kingroot 4.5.2 not work
Any way to root with this version ?
Guys, there already is a thread on this topic. @alucine: there are numerous threads on that topic as well. Just exercise your fingers a little and do a search
It's not necessary to downgrade to an official firmware. Local update with B324 works fine with B317 installed before.

Its easier and better imo to flash the complete rom as a local update and perform a factory afterwards then waiting for an OTA. I flashed L over the B145 version and i have no issues at all.

I try to unzip the update.zip first. Then just copy "dload" folder within UPDATE.APP inside to MICROSD. Then try to do the Normal Upgrade by the following steps :

It's work.
Hey guys,

There are so many threads in DEV (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-style/development), sadly I'm not sure which one i should be referring to - Could i please be referred to the correct one?
Also:
AFAIF all i need to do is download the correct file, boot to TWRP and flash the file, that's what i did with my Nexus 5 - is the process still the same? will i need to re-install things like SuperSU/TWRP/Xposed?
if updating the stock via flashing deletes information on the device, is it possible do bypass this and do it in a different way? such as somehow re-enabling OTA?
thank you!

Hey,
thanks for the quick asnwer, there are 4 files for 6.0 there, since i have a single sim card and i got my device in US can i assume this is the right link:
For LA SingleSIM users: XT1572_CLARK_RETLA_6.0_MPH24.49-18_cid12_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
Or is there a way to tell from inside the device if i have the LA or EU version?

If I was you. I would download the 5.1.1 stock Twrp backup, flash that. Then fastboot flash the 5.1.1 recovery. After rebooting you should get the two updates. Then re-root after the two OTA updates. By taking the OTA's, I believe your getting some binaries you can't get from the firmwares (rpm.bin, etc).
Or... Just download the last twrp 6.0 backup and flash that. You won't have to worry about recovery then.

if you want to download it, just get samfirm and download it using that with model number as sm-n910w8 and either use TLS (Telus) or RWC for Region.
Set the option to decrypt automatically. You can use odin to flash.

Fwiw, it decrypts/ extracts as a .zip file, so won't flash in Odin. I assume it's a zip due to it being a downloadable update directly to the phone. Flash in TWRP or CWM?

Actually the DPE2 firmware is posted as a zip, but once you unzip your download (which is over 2 GB in size, btw!) you will have a .tar.md5 file that you flash with Odin in the usual way.
As for the question of whether you actually _can_ flash the DPE2 firmware for the N910W8 on the N910T, at least one developer, Ovrdrive, who tried it on his N910T said it wouldn't boot, and I haven't seen any posts here from anyone saying they got it to work on a N910T. So - any brave soul who tried DPE2 on his N910T and made it work should post about his success here.

NO it will not work on the 910T. not through Odin anyways as the model number won't match. Sefrcoko is working on a flashable zip and deodexing but at the moment is having issues with deodexing so it may work through flashing in recovery with a MM kernel. We will have to wait and see

I've never used Samfirm. I was talking specifically about the zip files posted at sammobile (link for the N910W8 version in my previous post), which are intended to be unzipped to a .tar.md5 and flashed with Odin.

I assume that since you upgraded to MM, and T-Mobile has yet to ship MM, you have a N910W8 and you installed DPE2. It's the bootloader that came with DPE2 that is the problem. All the custom ROMs, even the MM port ones, are intended for the most recent T-Mobile bootloader, which is DOK2 Lollipop 5.1.1, or the most recent Canadian equivalent, COK3 Lollipop 5.1.1. When and if T-Mobile finally, FINALLY ships their version of MM, the custom ROMs here will probably be based on that bootloader instead. T-Mo and Samsung should be ashamed about how long MM is taking. Verizon has it. EVERY Canadian carrier has it. Looks like T-Mo is shooting for the distinction of being the very last carrier anywhere to ship MM.
Anyway, until then you need to use Odin to downgrade to COK3 (or, at least the COK3 bootloader) before any currently available custom ROMs will boot.
As we all know Huawei released the nougat beta for honor 8 (for UK and India for now) and let's be honest. It's beautiful right? But not all features work just yet (yeah I talking about you guys) Bluetooth and NFC. I'm sure Huawei has a good reason why.
So many users both bootloader locked and unlocked may want to downgrade. So here's the procedures.
Bootloader Locked.
1. Download your Marshmallow package (for your region) my is NEE (B120)
2. Extract the zip in a folder called dload if it doesn't exist create it to the EXTERNALSD! Not the internal one!
3. Once done Power down the Phone and power it up while holding both Volume up and Down at the same Time. Now the downgrade Procedure should work*
*IF downgrade Procedure didn't work download another package because you most likely downloaded the wrong package.
4. Reboot into recovery and wipe DATA factory reset else it won't boot!
UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER.
Do the same procedure as locked bootloader to the step 3
4. Reboot into Fastboot and Re unlock your device. NOTE HOLD POWER DOWN AFTER YOU SELECTED YES! So it boot back to bootloader mode (fastboot)
5. Flash twrp recovery
7. Now you can either restore one of your previous backup or wipe your phone without wiping complete internal sd. I prefer restore previous backup so you won't have to setup your device again.
Hope this covers things up for all of you.
Regards

So many users both bootloader locked and unlocked may want to downgrade. So here's the procedures.
Bootloader Locked.
1. Download your Marshmallow package (for your region) my is NEE (B120)
2. Extract the zip to the EXTERNALSD!
Regards

It didn't work for me. I tried to downgrade from the B320 version of the beta. I've downlaod the previous L04 mm version i had before getting the beta. I first tried to put the "update" zip in my sd card, it failed, then i extract the update zip on my desktop and put what i extract from the zip in my sd card and tried again. It still failed for the step 3. I would really like to be able to downgrade since the poor battery life from the beta. Any solutions?
