Default UAString on Sprint S7 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Using the stock browser, I had to change the UAString to an iOS UA the other day. I would like to put it back to the default. Anyone know what it is?
If the details are important, what I am referring to is: going to about:debug -> settings -> debug -> UAString (not custom). What's the default set to.
Thanks

reinstating Opera Mobile as a default browser
Tested and works as a charm
COPYASTE from http://discuss.pocketnow.com/showthread.php?t=25285
"You can actually reinstate Opera Mobile as the default browser (PIE would have been made the default browser if you had installed another browser such as Skyfire or Iris, and uninstalled them subsequently).
Launch Opera Mobile manually via Start Menu > Programs. In the address bar, enter "opera:config" and go to the page. The "Preferences Editor" page will be shown. Scroll down until you see "Install". Tap on it to expand the section. Enable the tickbox for "Browser First Time Launch", then tap "Save".
You have now reinstated Opera Mobile as the default browser.
Regards,
Joon Suan"
Ahhh Now I understand!!! Use Opera Always=Default
I've have been frustrated that Opera only appeared when I used the TF3d Browser interface but if I clicked on a link in email it would launch PIE (worthless in current interation -IMHO)... now using this tip when I click on a link in email it uses Opera -- Life is now good and I can die a happy man!

Change Android userAgent

Hi,
I was wondering if there was a way to change the default browser user agent to a Desktop user agent.
Please do not ask me to download dolphin or whatever browser.
Thanks!
Open the browser, type in "about:debug" into the address bar.
Then, menu > more > settings, scroll down to UAString and select "Desktop".

Very cool! Thanks!
For anyone interested, in Froyo, it's about:config instead of about:debug.

about:config is for Firefox

"about:debug" adds the extra items to the Settings menu. "about:config" just opens a blank screen and doesn't add the extra items to the Settings menu. (For me at least with stock Froyo.)
What were you saying that "about:config" should do?

So you bumped a thread to give wrong information?
about:debug Doesn't do anything on mine...nothing. about:config does indeed bring up a blank screen, and then adds the menu items.
No, I didn't bump a thread to give incorrect information. I added to a thread with information that explained what happened on my N1. Again, about:debug doesn't do anything, about:config added the menu items.
i had to do about:config then from there do about:debug for anything to show up

That's because about:config doesn't do anything.
jbhorner thinks about:debug doesn't work because nothing "appears" or "happens" when you click Go. What he doesn't understand is that nothing is supposed to. It just adds new menu items.
For anyone still doubting, reboot your phone, don't type about:config, and instead type about:debug. You'll see the new menu items, which obviously weren't added by about:config since you didn't type it since reboot.
I can't figure out which one it was... I was expecting it to be a config page like Firefox.
Will I have to change the UAS again every time I want to load a desktop page? Can I set it to load all pages in desktop as a default setting?
Do you need to be rooted for this? I type about:debug into the (stock) browser window address bar, push go, and it takes me to my homepage? wtf?
Try reading
Go to the settings page after typing about:debug

Hey, this reading thing ain't as easy as people make it out to be. Thank You, appreciate you putting up with morons.
Not a problem. Your not a moron.....just forgot how to read.
I am typing about:debug and I do not see the UAString in settings. I have done this before I updated to Froyo 2.2 but now I dont see it?
UPDATE: about:useragent in FROYO works for me!
about:debug worked for me, but now I can't find a way to turn it off.
Any ideas?
Sent from my Nexus One

regular internet on HTC Magic

I was wondering, is there a way to view site as they are in a computer?
for example getting into the "real" youtube.com instead of m.youtube.com or mobile.youtube.com
cheers
yes you can. depending on which version of android you are running these steps may be slightly different
on 2.2, in the browser
hit menu --> more --> settings
under settings look for "user agent" select it, then select Desktop (should be set to android)
this will now load pages as if you were surfing from your desktop.
on older android it may be called "view settings" or "page settings" under settings... but i cant remember...
just look under your browser settings and you will find it
thanks
that's what I was looking for

[Q] Editing the UAString on the retail version.

Has anyone had success changing the UAString to "desktop"? I can't seem to even bring up the editor on the browser. Typing about:debug doesn't do anything for me. Any suggestions?
That's strange. I typed "about:debug" and pressed enter, and after that, when I checked menu > setting > "debug" appeared, from where I could change the UA string to "desktop." (Really nice to be able to access websites in all their full glory, especially on this quality widescreen!)

After typing about:debug you need to go to the setting option. Once in the setting you will see a debug option. Inside of that you should see ua string

[Q] Default Desktop for Internet

I really like the stock internet browser on the S4 and would like to keep it. However I have not been able to find a way to default the view to desktop. I know it has the tickmark in settings, but I do not like hitting that every time. I have tried about:debug to get the debug menu in the setting and changing the UAString to Desktop, but that does not seem to have any effect and will still default to the mobile site unless you go in and select Desktop View in the menu every time you are on a mobile site.
So has anyone figured out how to make the default browser default to desktop view? If not I am going to have to switch to another browser.
Thanks
