What is this update Google wants to give me?

I flashed factory images for 4.4 the day Google released them and today I got a notification for a 3.4 MB system update for 4.4. Looking around the internet I don't see anything about the update at all. Does anybody know what this update brings to the table. At 3.4 MB I don't think its gonna have much besides bug fixes. I haven't flashed it cuz my battery is too low

Word has come down from the Android-Build group that new source code for Android 4.4 KitKat is on the way, containing a number of bugfixes.
This new build KRT16S. (The original pushed out was KRT16O.
In addition, new factory images — including binaries — will be available for the Nexus 4, Nexus 7s and Nexus 10.
No word yet on exactly what's changed, though we did discover a pretty significant audio bug in the Nexus 5. This also could help explain the sluggish push of over-the-air updates for the Nexus devices.

everytime i check system updates they say my system is up to date at 4.4.2 but there was an update! i dont understant why its unavailable
I am sure there is a way to side load the update through a custom recovery, no?

That update is not from CM, that's the stock rom. The latest update is milestone 7 and it's still based on 4.4.2 for the time being. HTH

Amazon Fire OS 5 is out

I just received the update for Fire OS 5!!
It is FIRE OS 5.0.3 (532008220)
First findings:
ADB is still buggy. (firestarter gives an error. ADB needs to be pushed off/on to get it working.)
Audio passthrough in Kodi is not working. (same as in the Fire OS5 preview)
Lol, is anything actually fixed?

Don't even try updating until the stable official version is released. Everything is beta right now
I also got OS 5.0.3 update. The good news is that it includes Alexa and many voice functions work now. 5.0 was incredibly slow and buggy for me. 5.0.3 seems more responsive but that may be because I had to do a factory reset in order to upgrade successfully.

This is the official version, so it is not a beta anymore. Whether or not it is stable we shall see:

Edit: actually it is confusing if OP got official OS 5 or just an update to the developer preview.

It seems like this is a beta just for those who have the developer preview installed. I agree, it's a bit confusing, especially since it looks like the official version will be 5.0.2 while this possibly beta version is 5.0.3. But I haven't heard of anyone NOT running the developer preview that received the update, which is why I wrote that it's a developer preview update. I'm sure we'll know more as more devices get updated.

Update

Hi,
I didn't receive the marshmallow update yet. I received my phone yesterday from repair. I had already installed an update that was 290MB I think. I thought that was the marshmallow update, but it wasn't :/
When will I get it?
Non of us get it yet, if you read the thread you would know this update caused more problems than it fixed, I'm really unhappy about the bad support from CM both to fix bugs (wifi, GPS, autorotation..) and to give us the latest Android version.

Permanent Notification to update to nougat. How do I remove it

My phone is on the latest btu software but now has a permanent notification telling up to update to nougat beta. I don't want to. How can I remove it
I've deregistered from the beta program but it's still there. I tried nougat bit right now I still prefer nougat so went back. Can nobody help. Surely I'm not the only one
Nougat is great your missing out
I already used the beta for 2 days. So no I'm Not missing out. Don't be so ignorant and patronising.
I tried it, I liked it, I gave my feedback and right now the beta for nougat is not as good as the full released marshmallow version so I went back until they've improved it.
I'll take that as a no lol
Install a package disabler from Play Store and disable the update apks
