Hi,
I broke my screen on my nexus 7 screen some time ago and only got round to replacing it last week. The problem is after I replaced the screen I can see nothing on screen but the tablet is on, LED flashing to show I have notifications an also volume up sound when volume is at max.
I have double checked all my connections and all seems well. The next thing I guess it to replace the ribbon cables to find if the problem lies there.
Has anyone had a similar issue and could indicate if I am missing something.
Thanks,

Hello, My G1 has just suffered a problem, i was scrolling down a web page and the screen faded out like it had lost power but the backlight was still on, the keys lit up and it still could make the trackball clicking noise when you moved it. I took out the battery and left it for 5 minutes and rebooted my phone and the screen turned on for about 3 seconds and faded out like before but it did boot into android as I heard the notification/startup sound. I think that the screen has burnt out but im not shore so has anybody had this problem before and/or might know how to fix it
Just some more infomation, If the screen dies and I leave it for a few minutes, when I unlock it or slide the screen up, the screen works for a few seconds but then fades. Also the fading looks like the screen lost power or like its losing pixels
From my experience with phone hardware this doesnt look like screen problem, but rather the lamp driver in the motherboard. the only way to narrow down is test the motherboard /screen with another phone.
If this is the case, it might require servicing the backlight driving circuit, which by far requries soldering/desoldering some components in motherboard.

Thanks for the replies, it seems that it has fixed its self as I've been using it for about 5 hours and no problems so far, I'm using it right now to type this, if the problem persists I will try and fix it or just buy a new one
Hello good folks,
I would like a bit of help with sorting my phone out. As of Thursday morning (2 AM or so) my phone has a black screen. The phone switches on, the touchscreen works (I can unlock it, put it to silent, hold the power key and tap the places on screen that would normally switch it off to do just that), the volume keys work, I can receive calls, the back light works.
Everything is as it should be, but I cant see a damn thing!
I should note that this happened once before, about a month ago and a few hours later it was back to normal. Also, I have noticed over the past few months a very small black circle at the top edge of the screen, about half a centimetre in diameter.
Please help!
Kindest regards.
It's the first time I read such an issue, your screen's probably defective.
To eliminate a probable OS issue, does the bootloader appear flawlessly ?
No, nothing appears at all. The screen is completely black at all times!
Your screen is malfunctioning, I don't know what's causing it and I don't know if you can fix it yourself either.
I think you are better off sending it back, if still under warranty.
Otherwise, ... ?
This just happened to me NOW....I'm waiting hopefully it will fix itself as i hear the HD2 heals itself LOL
Hi all,
I had a touchscreen issue (sometimes not working) in my HD2 so I ordered a new fabric screen+lcd assemby. I replaced it very carefully but now when I plug new lcd it is not working. Phone is working, buttons, vibration, hear the sound when turning on but there is only backlight on display and just shows black screen. I am sure that display is ok because I tried to put old one (wich was still working before replacement) and it has same issue (backlight works but display is black). Can you give me some ideas what is wrong ????
damaged lcd ribbon connector on mainboard or ribbon not being inserted fully or latched securely
Ty booting to bootloader ...
Help
The flex cable is not attached correctly or the main board is broken and before you close your phone try it. If you can't do this give someone your phone and he will recover for you.
The problem is sloved. I dissasambled all phone and fix it once again and now it works. Anyway I got another problem of white screen on my second device. Did anybody find a solution for white screen ever????

try with this link.
Yes I have read this before but I think that white screen problem is not sloved in this thread. But maybe I could be wrong.
my wife dropped her verizon note 4 and the screen no longer works. all the sounds work (power up, call, text sounds). i tried multiple battery pulls and watched youtube videos on how to "fix" it with tricks like holding the power button down for 1 minute and pulling the battery for 5 minutes to no avail.
the screen was not cracked but there is no output. i have already disassembled the phone hoping to find something unplugged but ive had no luck there either. my question is, is there a way to ensure that the lcd screen is bad before i drop $180 on one? i'd hate to pay for a screen and have it be another problem.
Hey there, I'm having some serious trouble with my S4 i9505, I recently did a LCD and digitizer replacement, and the connectors are connected, but the phone boots up with a green screen (pic included) the blue led notification light turns on, and the boot up music plays, then the home row button backlights turn on, and it also makes notification sounds, so it's alive... but nothing visually so to speak. I've tried almost every troubleshoot suggestion under the sun; but to no avail. Anyone else out there who has experienced this and could give some insight as to a solution? Much appreciated, thanks.

If the connectors are connected then the screen is probably dead.

I doubt it, since the screen does flicker when I press the power button rapidly a few rings, and the LCD and digitizer are brand new, replacement parts I had ordered, so not sure what the underlying issue is... going to take it into a repair shop it seems.
