Is it just me or does this phone fly on ART. My nexus 5 didn't seem so big of a difference. Its like night and day on my phone. Of course it took up 700mb of storage but I'm loving it!

Can we or is there a thread going to know what apps work with ART?

It is great in the beginning but it starts lagging after two to three days of usage
I think you did talk about Running ART in your moto x so far. But i want to know it how it's possible to fly ART on my Moto X..?

Actually, what he said was "My Moto X fly's on ART" which I can only take to mean he has a fly on his Moto X, which either is "on ART" or possesses "on ART."
Myself, Being that I am ART, can confirm that I am not a fly, but am on a Moto X
My name is art and I like to fly.

Lol!
BTW ART includes a dalvik compatibility feature, or so I presume. As mine always boots with, a persistent, "android is upgrading" for a few apps. The count goes down as I uninstall some apps.

So that . It's make "fly's on ART" :fingers-crossed:
Buuuuut....no xposed. The Moto x on stock and xposed go together like peanut butter and jam.
OMG this thread is cracking me up!! I'm tempted to make my moto x even faster but I have to agree that I cant give up Xposed!
ART>Xposed. JMHO

Got and benchmark numbers or application launch times to show how much faster it is?
The Moto G will get some Active Display features as seen in this post on the moto forums. https://forums.motorola.com/posts/1f196bf518 great news, I'm excited to see how they will implement it!

I wouldnt say its useless but yea, it will kill your battery, why would anyone want it? pressing power button to turn on display, see what notification you have and then turn it off is that much more time consuming? at least for me personal, its not a good trade-off
Don't think it'll do wonders on a LCD display, OLED sure, but on LCD it's going to drain the battery much faster. I've purchased DynamicNotification premium features it does most of the things that Motorola's official app can.
Apk doesn't seem to work . shows up in settings but nothing beyond that

According to that link, the Moto X has it because it has AMOLED screen. Where did you see the Moto G will get Active-display features?

Did you read the thread properly?:good:
Hey all,
My apologies but I can't find the post anymore (think Punit Soni might have put it up on Google Plus? Or Mark Rose? Don't know).
They will import some but not all active display features to the Moto G. With regards to mohan.n - I thought so too, but apparently they figured out a way!
I don't have the time anymore to check for this post but if someone here has the time please do go ahead and post!
Cheers,
Nciole

Only some features will be ported, not all! And you need to wait a new compatible aon version on play

Actually, it looks more like a stub app they plan on updating through the app store at a later date.

We probably need an update to the app, the current version shows up in settings, but if changed they switch back, and it doesn't work anyways.

For me Dashclock with DashNotifier (or Apex Notifier or Nova TeslaUnread with those Pro version launchers in my case) is more than enough. Hardly if any resources hogging. Click on message, email, etc. and you'll go straight to them if new messages, etc. when unlocking lockscreen. I never have to use power button because my case has sleep wake function ( Orzly Multi Functional Wallet Case voor Moto G - Carbon).

Active display feature is not working . moreover it shows that the app is incompatible with your device.

Use nova launcher or some alternative
You can also use Xposed GEL Settings if you have Xposed installed. That's what I used to remove the search bar.
Didn't wana root but xposed is nice....I'll try Nova for now

I'm a huge Nova user for years now... having never had a Moto X phone, does using Nova as your default launcher impact Moto Voice and active listening features in any way?
(edit: still waiting on my "should have been delivered by now, but delayed by Moto" Moto X Pure form Motomaker.

Launchers have no affect on Moto features.
I like both Nova and Action Launcher.

You should be able to get moto display by flashing the zip linked to this post on a stock based custom ROM.
You could try the zip on an AOSP rom, but I'm not sure it would work. If you decide to try it make a backup first just in case it causes problems. You might be stuck with ambient display on AOSP roms.

There is this app from play store that nearly resembles moto display. Try it also https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.achep.acdisplay

If the ROM has CM Actions, gestures, you will have all the stock ROM actions. Like wave (turns ambient display into something like moto dispaly), lift to wake, chop chop for torch, and twist for camera.

Yeah, I've just found that the Moto stuff is more accurate because it actually uses those three extra motion sensors.

You don't actually get Moto display on AOSP ROMs since they are not Moto stock based. However some AOSP ROMs have features baked in like ambient display that perform similar to Moto display. It will all depend on the ROM.

Could it work if I flash this zip file on a Lineageos 18 ROM? And how do you flash additional files on an already existing ROM?
