Package Disabler Pro Wont activate - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

I have been using Package Disabler Pro since we were all waiting for a root to be released.
All the sudden I had to start fresh, wipe my phone and reroot. Everything works fine except Package Disabler Pro. It gets stuck at the "Please wait for license activation" and never continues. I have purchased it by the way and have tried clearing cache, uninstalling and re-installing. Ideas?

From what I've read and seen around the forum, package disabler is for non rooted phones. Not real compatible with rooted devices. I could be wrong though. I always use titanium

Before I had to erase my phone, Package Disabler Pro was working on my rooted S7. Maybe that was a fluke that it was working?
I have titanium. I simply like the recommendations that PDP gives.
With Titanium, all I need to do is freeze right?

You can freeze or uninstall as you wish. Just know what your doing. I recommend freezing if you are just beginning with this.

Removing Bloatware with Titanium Backup

So I tried uninstalling Bing with TB and it went smoothly. I rebooted the phone after and no issues whatsoever. Google is now the default search engine. I have heard from others that deleting the bloatware can have unpredictable results and maybe not allow firmware update when froyo comes out. I am thinking of uninstalling the bloatware using TB and would like to know if anyone has done this and with what result.

just use the donate version of TB to simply freeze them...this will deactivate them as well as remove them from your apps list so that when it comes time for a OTA update. You simply defrost them and you are good to go.
I was thinking, even if I just uninstall the bloatware, I can always do a factory reset later on to get my phone back to stock. Then I can update to froyo. Will this work??
When you update to froyo it should be in the form of a rom you flash from here. Enjoy your phone and battery life now and freeze all that crap but nothing google.
good day.

If I'm not mistaken doing a factory reset will not un freeze apps in TB but I'd you delete them I don't see why they wouldn't return.

I used TB to back up the apps and system but for some reason it did not back up the bloatware apk's. I ended up using Super Manager. Its got an APK manager app that let's me backup everything, even the bloatware APK's. So now I can reinstall everything when its time to update to froyo.

[Q] EB13 and Android Market Crash

There was a brief thread on February 19 concerning the Android Market crashing. The person with the problem said he flashed a new ROM and that solved the problem. Well, I really am not a ROM flasher, so that won't help. I had the updated market, upgraded to EB13, and all was well. Then suddenly yesterday I started getting an error "market.proces.com.android.vending has stopped." I have cleared the cache and the app data, and when I do market can be accessed, the agreement to terms screen comes on, and after I agree, I get the market, but within a minute it will crash again with the same error.
I tried to reinstall the update.zip from the Samsung site, but it won't let me (presumably because I already updated to 2.2.1?). So what do I do? Is my only option a factory reset? And if so how can I backup all my data and apps. I am rooted, and do have MyBackup Pro, but it too is giving me problems, crashing at various points as I try to backup my data. I hope someone out there can help. Thanks.
Update: I did do a hard reset, after managing to have MyBackup Pro backup my data and apps. I got into the Market after signing on, and re-downloaded MyBackup Pro -- but then the ERROR started again, "market.proces.com.android.vending has stopped." WTF?
You can always try to Odin eb13 to a fresh install and see if that works.
Thanks. I may just get another.
I have had this problem and it is related to a bad update of.eb13. ODiN is th only solution that I could figure out.

Apk Parse Error

Bear with me here, tis a long and windy tale!
I'm getting a "Parse Error: there is a problem while parsing this package" whenever I try and install an apk copied to my phone.
Used to work fine until the following:
Have a Galaxy S5, SM-G900F.
Came with carrier firmware when I got it last year, flashed stocked btu, rooted with towelroot, and updated it to 4.4.2
Worked like a charm.
With EE now offering Wifi-Calling, decided to update to lollipop, and that's were **** started to go wrong.
Looked into this, and discovered that FlashFire would keep the root, and update to a newer fimware.
Using the stock btu, did it. Everything went great.
Couldn't find the wifi-calling option
Read up about it a bit more, some places said needed to clear the cache.
Did so, nope.
Tried a deodex firmware: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development/rom-t3078179
Still no luck.
Then I came across EE support forums, which said it had to be carrier firmware, to use wifi-calling.
Grabbed the latest version, Used Flashfire to flash it.
Encountered a ton of errors.
Constant "system ui has stopped working" "weather ui has stopped working" errors.
Tried clearing the cache again, no luck.
Didn't factory reset at this point, and probably where I made another mistake.
Flashed it back to ambadasii, decided to follow some instructions by clearing the davlik cache. Bad choice :crying:
Flashed twrp, forgetting that this would trip knox. :silly:
Cleared cache, cleared davlik. Still no luck.
At this point, with knox tripped, there was nothing really stopping me.
So used odin to flash the EE evr firmware to the phone.
Same "ui has stopped working" errors.
Cleared cache, reset to factory default.
All errors stopped.
And finally have the Wifi-calling option (f*cking yay )
Flashed twrp again, installed SuperSu to root it.
And now busy using Titanium backup to restore my apps and settings.
Tl:dr Wanted the new wifi-calling option on lollipop, got impatient and screwed something up during flashing.
Thanks for reading this far!
Edit: Forgot to mention.
Yes it used to install apk's from the phone and sd card perfectly fine before.
Yes usb debugging and allow unsigned apps are both on.
Apk is fine, installs on my nexus tablet fine (5.1)

Ah, try doing su first so you are running as root.
Sent from my Tw5ted SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Okay.
tried with su:
pkg: whatever.apk
Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_URI]
Looking like Titanium restore hasn't worked properly either, loads of programs needing to be reinstall again.
Dunno if its connected to this problem or not.
Invalid uri means you did the path wrong, tab complete the path(volup+t i think, if not voldown+t) so you have it exactly correct, it doesnt matter if you are already in the directory containing the apk it needs the full path.
Sent from my Tw5ted SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Ah ok.
With the full path: Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INVALID_APK]
Funny enough, some apk's install this way some don't.

So the error is consistently failed invalid apk? The ones that install fine on other devices?

Did a complete wipe of the phone, dalvik, cache and phone.
Reinstalled all apps from Play store from recovery.
Restored just system and app data with Titanium backup.
Other apk's are now installing fine on this device now, just not this one.
Uninstalled and tried reinstalling the apk on the other device, and it failed.
Looked into it further, seems there's been an update to the apk recently, downloaded it and now it works!
Weird since it worked on 5.0 and 5.1 before on the tablet, but once uninstalled, got the apk parse error on that too.
Thanks for all the help Rakuu.

I'm wondering what the issue might be where one day APK files are installing correctly then the next day every attempt to install, whether through:
1) a file manager,
2) separate installer program, or
3) via each individual program's update feature,
all fail with the "there was a problem while parsing this package" error.
I used the great suggestion from Rakuu to try via the terminal (e.g. `# pm install /storage/emulated/0/Download/filename.apk`) and like magic, it works (installs successfully) with no error whatsoever.
However, no package file irrespective of source (all tested fine with archive programs and including previously successfully installed apk's) can be installed via the android interface.

No clue, usually if it errors in the visual installer it will also with command line, maybe try a factory reset? I'm not too sure, that's odd.

Turns out that the inability to install from the user interface coincides with a Cyanogenmod 13 (6.0.1) nightly upgrade. I'll either go back to a snapshot or try another nightly next week and see if that helps things along.
Thanks for your reply.

why do so many apps crash on oos?

Radio.com, peacock, and a TON if others crash when I try to open them. Is anyone else having this issue?
I don't think I had a single app crash on my 8 Pro since I got it other than the GCam mod when selecting unsupported features.
You might want to do a cache wipe or factory reset.
I haven't had any either. As mentioned, try clearing cache and seeing what's using ram...
No crashes for me. Try a factory reset. Did you restore from a different device when you got it?

I have the same issue and it seems to happen after i have been downloading magisk or edexposed modules. Ill be in the middle of an app and it exits itself to my home screen. I figured it was because i hadn't rebooted directly after downloading a module.
Same issue here, even after factory resetting and clearing data and cache on apps they will open for once but than will crash, I'm rooted, unlocked bootloader, twrp, xXx ROM, clean-state kernel and a few magisk modules, no xposed. I might go back to 7 pro for the time being and give this 8 pro to my wife as I'm used to lineage which is a lot better than OOS in my opinion, but this app crashing problem should be solved, cheers

Initially I did restore apps from back up but when they started crashing I tried clearing the app cache and clear storage and even uninstalling and reinstalling from play store but with no luck, most of the apps got sorted by reinstalling but some didn't and they still crashing, cheers
I do have a couple apps that continue to crash. Not right away but when navigating their menus or settings they'll start to crash. Never had this kind of problem with any other phone. This is my first OnePlus device so who knows. I've tried everything you've tried as well

What apps are crashing? I really don't believe this is a OnePlus thing. It's one of the cleanest versions of Android out there

I'm wondering if the issue is caused by magisk modules. I ask because I have been experiencing the same issue and we are running similar setups. I'm just missing twrp and running ElementalX instead. FYI there is a lineageOS for this phone so you don't necessarily have to downgrade yourself back to 7pro lol
Same issue here mainly the app Call of duty. Recently I did a fastboot erase userdata w/ reset & it didn't crash for a week or two. Just when I thought it was fine, it's been crashing like crazy. I tried ram boost off, battery optimization off, etc w/ no success. I'm using magisk hide with a few modules and that is it. I have USB debugging disabled along w/ OEM unlock unchecked.
Just wanted to add for the record and I'm not sure what to make of it. Thx
My only issue is that VLC crashes if I try to open it from recents..Not that big deal though and it might have something to do with VLC itself so dunno..

Specifically I have my chase banking app and a app I use for work called qgenda. It may not be a OnePlus thing but it is only on my oneplus phone. Not my note 10 plus, note my S20 Ultra, not my Pixel 3, not my mate 30 pro, and not my iPhone 11 pro (yeah different OS I know).
Edit: I'm not rooted

How to disable system update nag on rooted OnePlus 8 Pro?

How to disable system update nag on rooted OnePlus 8 Pro? Thanks.
Update it.
Other than that, you can install some sort of notification blocker to remove the notification, or a magisk module to uninstall the system updater.
If you decide to update it, just let it update, but make sure that you have automatic restart disabled, and that you won't restart the phone when it says to restart. Then just go to magisk, click install to inactive slot, wait for it to finish, then restart. Voila, notification disappeared, and you still have root.
Thanks, but I don't plan to update, I have the phone set up the way I want it. Someone in another site mentioned on the Motorola Z3 he needed to freeze the OTA updater. If anyone know what the OnePlus OTA updater is called please share. These are the apps I currently have freezed.
Also how the hell did my device know there's a new version? I freezed the updaters right after root. If anyone knows the IP for the OnePlus update servers please share, I have AdAway installed, I can add them to the custom block list. Thanks.
I found out the nag is from Google Play Services so I'm SOL unless I want to de-google my phone.
Yes nagging will never stop, but your system will never be updated with the freezing. At least it is just a few times a day. I am never moving to 11 and up
