Whats the best app freezer? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions & Answer

Whats the best app/system app freezer app? I'm looking for one that's free. I know there's titanium backup but to freeze you have to have pro. Any other suggestions? I am rooted.

You can try Package Disabler Pro. Free works great for me to disable system apps.

Why do apps automatically load?

it's the main reason for the major battery drain (every time there's a significant drain, i open up advanced task killer and notice there are 10+ apps running). i'd like to know what the point in this is? some of these apps are useless, and i can't see why the android would want to load them to make anything run more efficient. so is there an app that lets you choose the apps you want to "disable"?
and is it going to be better when froyo comes out?
if you have root, you can uninstall them
Just cause atk shows an app doesnt mean the app is actually running. This ignorance is precisely why task killers suck.

Get root, get Titanium backup, uninstall.
A program like system panel will show you which apps are actually active (running)

[Q] Would like to uninstall LaunchPro on Blue Sparks V4 [2.1 rom]!

I wish I could directly post this question on the Blue Spark thread, but I can't, newbie, less than 10 posts!
Anyway, I installed this rom last night, and I want to uninstall LaunchPro that comes with it. The author installed it as system app, and I don't know how to uninstall it or is it safe to do so.
Maybe you can try installing another home app first and then uninstall the launcher pro. I've been using Go launcher Ex lately. I think its better than launcher pro. Hope this helps.

You can uninstall it but as the guy above said, you need another home app, as once you uninstall it i think i am right in saying that you wont be able to bring up the menu.
Im also using blue sparks as my main rom, and at first i wasnt a big fan on launcher pro but i got used to it and ended up buying the full version
Thanks
thanks guys!
any recommendation on the home app?
Could try ADW on market, you might like that better

thanks mate, i installed Go Launcher at the end, android market just won't download anything. Go Launcher is not bad, i like how they categorize the apps section.

[Q] GB Bloat

Now that many of us have the GB leak, I wanted to know what people are doing with the GB bloat. I have autostarts to try and stop the bloat from starting (I'm not sure if it's working on 2.3), but I can't seem to kill things I don't want running. (the stock running apps leaves out things.) Anyone have a suggestion?

You can use root explorer and rename the bloat to .bak or you can use titanium backup and freeze the bloat you don't want, your choice

+1. This is the best practice to start with as deleting certain bloat will cause force closing.

its funny, i froze bloat and everything worked fine....then i uninstalled the same bloat and my dialer started force closing.....
on fission i could uninstall any bloat i wanted and no problems....you do the math.
needless to say, im back on fission.

Home launcher

Anyone know if I can uninstall the stock home launcher after switching over to a better launcher. Even frozen with titanium, stock launcher still starts, sucking up my battery and processor.

Just use titanium backup to delete it once you have the other installed...
Make sure you have a home app... or else it'll hang your phone and you'll be learning how to use rsdlite

I installed launcher pro. That's the best I've liked. Learning rsdlite is no biggie as I had to use it 3 times already when following instructions elsewhere here on removing/freezing motocrap. Thanx for the info.

Can't re-activate apps

Hi all, in order to make the phone more battery friendly I started deactivating useless apps through settings. But they won't come back in the app drawer after activating 'em again (weather app for instance)! Even after phone reboot! Any idea?
Thanks yall

Did u reboot after wiping data of those apps? And maybe u can wipe data for settings.apk and launcher as well. (don't know, never had this myself as I've been always been rooted on my phones)
Try an other Launcher beside the Sony Home like Apex, Nova etc.
Use this as default, reboot.

Thanks for the tip, I tried using Apex rebooted as you suggested but it didn't work it looks like data is gone.
