Galaxy S7 edge uneven color temperature - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

As you know Galaxy S6 and other old smartphones with AMOLED displays have one big problem and that is uneven color temperature aka. yellow tint aka. green tint. I have the same problem with my Galaxy S7 edge. When I open one website with white background I can clearly see that white on the right part of the screen is darker than white on left part of the screen. I replaced 2 screens and every screen have this problem. But I am 100% sure that there are screens which have even color temperature. It sux that you have to be lucky to get S7 edge with good display.
My question is...is there any app (I don't care if it is an app with ROOT need) which can change color temperature only on some parts of the screen? I am sure that this problem could be fixed with an app. I have an app Screen Balance and this app really nicely improve white color on my screen. On my phone white color was at first more yellowish but now it is a lot like it should be because of this app. But main problem still exists - on the right part of the screen white color is more darker.
Thank you guys.

Nobody knows?

There's an app for tweaking colour temperature, and it is without root. But to solve the problem that makes your phone's colour temperature uneven, I'm sorry, I don't know that..

Never heard of anything that does what you require.

2.3.3 color change

I am looking for honest opinions about the color change to the Nexus S display with the 2.3.3 update. I have heard very many people complaining and not liking the new color scheme. THis is key to whether I allow my nexus to update or not. If anybody can give me any opinions regarding this I will greatly apprectiate it. Also, what exactly was wrong with the original color scheme to begin with?
I've been lurking for a while now, but I suppose it's high time that I start contributing around here!
I think the update's colors are fine. Breaking it down, the 2.3.2 and below colors were a bit reddish in my eyes. While you couldn't tell for the most part, if you use a program like Screen Filter and get the screen to be very dim, there would be a very purple tint to the screen.
The update removed the purple tint, but a lot of people (the ones you refer to) began complaining about a yellowish tint and washed out colors. The yellowish tint is noticeable, especially when I compare white between the Nexus S and either my computer or an iPhone 3GS. In my eyes, it's not *that* yellow, and the screen overall looks better than it did pre-update. The washed out effect I really haven't noticed, though I do think that after installing netarchy's kernel, the colors do pop a little bit more.
Overall, I'm not a terribly picky person, but I do think that 2.3.3+Voodoo color looks better than 2.3.2 or stock 2.3.3.
Jeff's right. 2.3.3 stock colors aren't bad at all. I actually like it over the purplish colors of 2.3.2. Plus I think the lowest brightness levels have been darker than 2.3.2.

You can't compare your super amoled screen to a computer monitor or an iPhone. When making this kinda comparison, you should compare with another similiar galaxy s phone or N1 that doesn't have the purplish tint issue. With that being said, the reason why colors looks washed out to some after the update is because, before the update most of us was used to the grays being purple so alot of images that had this certain shade of gray would display purple. Now after the update, those images that we're used to looking at with the purplish issue are now all of a sudden displaying it's true color of grays, which causes the images to appear washed out. The update does provide the correct color calibrations. Also keep in mind the these screens are not consistently manufactured the same. So even tho the update provides the correct color calibration, the outcome still may vary depending on the condition of the manufactured screen which explains why some are experiencing extreme yellowish discoloration.

my brother bought a nexus S used few days ago. it was on 2.3.2
on high brightness, the white was perfect white " no yellow tint on it. perfect white.
however on low settings, it used to have pink tint that is more clear on gray colors.
so he updated to 2.3.3, the pink is gone. but now the screen has this " yellow " tint to it that makes the creen looks washed out. the blue not really a blue . its lighter blue, and the white on high setting is like yellow white.
however, he updated the karnel i think with one from voodoo where he can pick between 2 color profiles " forgot the name of the karnel but its in xda "
now the screen is back to how it was on 2.3.2 with its white " no yellowish" and when he pick the color profile for the low settings, the pink is also gone . no more pink on low settings and yellow on high settings. its actually perfect.
i assume if your phone has yellow issue on 2.3.2, then you are probably screwed. as there is no fix to that. the voodoo will only return the white to how it was on 2.3.2
but if your white was perfect and you have a problem with the pink, then look for the karnel, you will lose your pink plus the perfect white will come back agian

[Q] bought a Galaxy SII, is this normal on the amoled?

hey guys so i have this phone and i like it, not awsome all the way, but its great so far, astonish performance and an OK camera, anyways heres what ive noticed and i dont wanna send it back before im sure its a problem:
-When i view its screen turned on from different angles the color hue slightly changes a bit to blue, this is most noticeable in bright images with alot of white level for example, is such thing normal?
Also is there any particular thing i should look for to know if its working properly or not? ive heard alot of ppl had problems with the screen, what are the steps that i need to take to check if mine has or does not have the same problems.
Thanks in advance!
ill be getting my S2 tomorrow but from what i understand this is normal on the phones ive owned in the past

True ... when screen are turned and seen from different angles, the color hue slightly changes a bit to blue and that's normal.
But on my SGS2 no yellowish colors or black spots.
OP, the slight bluish hint is normal.
Also normal is some moderate banding on plain gray background.
Also normal is moderate yellowish left side. To check how severely your screen is effected, switch OFF orientation sensor, display a full screen gray image on about 25-50% brightness, look at it in portrait orientation, than flip the phone 180 degrees, so it is upside down. Do a few flips, you will notice the difference in colors on the left and the right sides. Most people do not see it by just looking at the image, they need a real precise side by side comparison like what I just described.
All these issues in moderation are normal for Amoled. What is not normal is dead pixels or damaged screens underneath the glass, but these issues are rare.
Pity you dont have a search button .

already did. they refer to yellow tint on the side only.
I have the same issue. My previous sgs2 had a yellow tint on the left side. I send it for repair and got the screen replaced. Now my whole screen is more yellowish, while my previous phone was more blueish (warm vs cold tint). I'm on KG1 now. The yellow left side is as good as gone though.
On 100% brightness the whites are really white, but below 60% the white and grey turn yellow.
I've searched for an app that allows you to change the color temperature but haven't found one. I've found a few that simply turn down brightness levels individually for R, G and B, but that doesn't work. Personally I'd like my phone's tint to be a bit cooler.

On a yellow tinted phone, the whites only seem white till you compare it beside a phone with a higher color tone.. thats what I also experienced.
guess we just have to wait for speedmod colour fix or voodoo color..
Is that being developed? I would be more than happy to donate a few bucks to anyone who can deliver such an app.

Have you tried changing in settings, Screen the 3 different configurations it has?. Try the fist one, i think it has too many saturation but whites are whiter (at least for my sight).

Tried dynamic but it was too sharp for my taste.

[Q] Screen colors uneven?? Normal?

Hi all,
I know there is alot of discussions surrounding yellow tinting and yellow colors , or uneven screens on S2 , S3.
But I haven't seen much of it talked about for the S4.
My S4 has slightly darker colors on the top of the phone. The difference is quite visible on a white background, and very visible on a grey background.
Here some photos showing the issue:
From the naked eye the differences are not as great as shown on the photos. however it is there. sometimes its darker sometimes its not so much darker. but visible and very evident that the screen colors are not even.
Is there any problem with this? Do I need to take it to Samsung for repair?
When I'm using google for example the top of the screen is like bluish....and the other half of the screen is white.
Because I haven't seen many discuss about this issue, I'm wondering whether its just mine?
You have a defective screen.
Take it back for repair or replacement

lighter pixels on home screen with no apps default background and also bottom right w

I've had 3 s6 edge plus now the 1st one appeared to have a great screen but i didn't check properly the second had a terrible screen with the green pixels on the default background in a circular motion and the third has less of it but on bottom right on purple background the pixels colour is not uniform some seems lighter or darker than others. Is this just the nature of amoled screens that each pixel is different that you won't get a perfect screen where all the pixels under a green or purple background are even?
On full black or white it seems ok i just noticed such differences in screen quality between the devices. Is getting a near perfect screen with all pixels the same colour ie not faded or darker impossible?
I should have kept the first one cos its screen was good it was manufactured in august whereas the next 2 i got were part of same assembly batch made on same day 13/10/2015.
I just got fed up in the end as i ordered online and had to wait for replacements to be sent.
Do any of you have these screen issues on the default background of green if you look on bottom half of screen left side there seems to be this weird circular heat pattern of lighter pixels some dimmer than others. On a purple screen background the bottom right there purple is not even. I know that's not right but is it very difficult getting an amoled screen which is near perfect?
Im not sure if this is a sign my pixels are fading or wearing out or it is screen burn in the factory but samsung quality control is abysmal they let through any screen in hope the average consumer wont pay attention to uneven screen.
Is it normal to have a amoled screen like this?
As in imperfect colours pixel degrading out of the box. The purple walkpaper top left i can see that it's not all one colour and some of the pixels look faded is this standard and luck of the draw getting a good screen?
I have not done a screen test in fear of how bad it might look but on black screens and all white it looks good it's just the wall papers i can see splooges of uneven colour how bad or good is every one elses screen?
I think i notice it more because i came from an s4 so bigger screen equals more noticeable imperfections.
I didnt test my original one properly but it's screen seemed really good on the default wallpaper i duno what it woulda shown on purple.
Is this screen burn or just faded pixels from over testing out the box?
Why is it so f'ing difficult trying to get a perfect samsung screen? ??
