No sound on stock - X Style (Pure) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Lately I've been having an issue with the stock rom, where randomly throughout the day the phone will stop playing notification tones or any music. Google play music(and any other music app) just simply won't play anything at all until I reboot it. I don't have this problem on AOSP
Any ideas?
TLDR; phone stops playing any music, or notification tones. Plays certain notification tones fine though xD.
Thanks!

Did you find the fix? Having the same problem

Have this problem on my wife's phone. Calls don't ring, alarm doesn't sound, notifications don't sound. I am not sure about music. A reboot fixes it temporarily. We use our phones as our alarm clocks and that sucks. I have her using her Nexus tablet for an alarm but it is inconvenient. If anyone has a solution you are awesome. Hers should be covered under Moto's warranty but with my experience with them(original atrix) it takes me shipping them the phone multiple times before they fix it or replace it and shipping gets expensive.

[Q] Phone wont ring or play notification sounds

I was using a song in my music library as my ringtone but i didnt change the ringtone back to a default when i removed all of my songs for Google's Online Music app. Now, even when I choose another ringtone or notification sound and set the ringer to full volume, nothing plays when i get a notification or a phone call. I tried to update my rom (CM 7.0.0 to CM 7.0.3) and put the same old song back on but neither of those worked. I also attempted to get another ringtone app (Zedge) but that still didnt work. This is causing me serious problems and the only way I can tell if someone calls me is if i have my vibrate on, and that still isnt that helpful. Has anyone had this problem and/or fixed it without a factory reset?

[Q] headset notification problems

Hi, just upgraded from my Galaxy Note to the z1 yesterday.
Very impressed with the phone so far, but I have encountered one strange problem that I can seem to find no other comments about.
When I connect a headset (the bundled one, specifically) and turn my phone to silent mode so I can enjoy my audiobook in peace without being bothered every time I get a new promotional email, the notification sound plays over and pauses my audio book.
It does this no matter whether I turn the phone to silent, vibrate, turn the ringtone and notification volume to 0, and whether or not I make these changes manually or allow the smart connect app to make them for me.
The strange thing is, it only plays the notification sounds when something is playing through the headset. When I'm sitting just using the headset as a handsfree then everything behaves as expected - if a notification comes in, the phone will vibrate, flash the notification led, but won't make a peep otherwise. But as soon as media is playing, the phone seems to make up its own mind to vibrate and play the notification sound even though I've put it on silent.
Am I the only one experiencing this bug, or, more surprisingly, am I the only one who finds it hugely irritating?
sorry, just noticed i posted this in the wrong section, please close.

[Q] Echo on all ringtones and notifications

My Note 4 (Snapdragon variant) is on the latest Samsung Lollipop version, I've always had poor batterylife so I've wiped the device and started afresh but I'm having an irritating problem where ringtones and notifications have a noticeable out of sync echo on them. This occurs when the application generates the notification and it also happens when I play the notification from the sound menu, it sounds a bit like two applications are trying to play the same notification at once but that can't be the case. If I repeated play back the notification the sync drifts in and out so sometimes it will play normally, mostly not.
I can't think what I would have done to cause this, there's no new applications installed compared to what was installed previously and there's nothing that should muck up with the audio. I've had a good hunt around but almost everything I've found refers to echos during calls. Any advice appreciated as the phone sounds absolutely terrible at the moment.
Edit - Well I was being stupid, I had the Sony SBH-52 bluetooth headset right beside the phone when testing and I didn't realise it and the phone were both playing the ringtone and notifications hence the echo. Disabled media audio on the BT connection and all sorted.

Phone app & Google Music non-functional

Stock Nexus 6P with standard Android updates.
Starting yesterday I can't make outgoing calls, the app just freezes. Some calls do go through but I can't hear the person on the other end. The phone then freezes completely and I have to restart.
Same thing with Google Music, unable to listen to anything, just freezes and crashes.
Speakers don't work either, my alarm went off, volume was high but no sound came through.
Have started in Safe Mode, Uninstalled the Updates for both phone and Music, and the issue still persists.
Anyone else have this?
yeah, that all sounds pretty strange and unusual. Might be something that got corrupted, maybe the system image since it's acting so weirdly.

Sound notifications for certain apps like Whatsapp only working half the time

So my Whatsapp is setup to vibrate and make a sound for notifications but the sound only works about half the time while the vibrate does work every time. I've also had a few times where the sound itself doesn't fully play or sort of stutters.
Fully stock 6t on T-mobile.
Edit: I should add that I think this is a Oneplus problem in general. My OP2 had similar problems with stuttering notification sounds. Never experienced this on any other brand of phone. Didn't matter what OS I was using either.
