Yotaphone 2 intermittent Charging? Or something else? - YotaPhone

I just got a Yotaphone 2 and connected it to charge at usb port on computer. Every 30 seconds or so, it pops up a new windows explorer window for the YotaPhone. Seemed like it's disconnecting and reconnecting to Windows intermittently. There was not connect or disconnect chimes in Windows, however. So I tried charging it on a Qi wireless charger. About every 30 seconds, the charger beeps as it does when it senses a nearby coil and begins charging. I assume this points to that the internal charging circuit is starting and stopping?? Has anyone seen anything like this? If this is what is happening, is this likely a software issue? ...or a hardware issue? I haven't updated or installed anything on the phone yet. I received it already running Android 5.0.
Any ideas on cause, or ways to fix this?
Thanks!

After a year, my first real problem...

I'm having trouble getting the usb / charger cable to charge the 8525...
Is anyone else havin problems like this? Is there a solution?
Does it charge fine when you just use the USB cable or mains charger ? If it does then maybe its something as simple as poor connection and you should clean the contacts on both the handset and the charging cradle.
If your having problems no matter how you try to charge the handset then maybe your battery has reached it's useful lifespan. It could also be something else at fault but I would check/go through the obvious first.
This may sound wierd.. but maybe even doing a soft reset. For some strange reason sometimes when I plug in the charger or usb it either won't connect to activesync or won't charge. I then reset and everything seems to work fine. I thought it was a cable problem but it happens every now and then.
Have you changed your pover manager settings? If you forbid usb charging, when you connect your phone to PC,the phone won‘t be charged.

Problem with charger

i have an HD with Dutty 3.9 since 2 months.
some weeks ago, a strange problems happened: when i plug charger to HD, nothing happens (no charge) if i check the option "when device is turned on, do not charge the battery when connected to pc". If i "uncheck" this option, charging process starts.... but charging is slower than normal....as if HD was connected to PC.....
anyone has the same problem?
any suggestion?
Are you charging your phone through the computer or?
Because on the USB port of your computer there is less power then on your electricity net.
So its pretty normal that your phone is charged slower via computer.
If this is not the situation, then i think my help stops here, sorry.
Check both ends of the cables and sockets for crap inside. I guess its possible a short somewhere is causing the phone to think its attached to a PC instead of just the charager. That could cause the phone to only demand a max of ~500mA (the max a USB socket can support). I dont know anything about the charging circuits of the phone, but It would we worth checking the cable and sockets even if my guess is wrong.
thanks for answer
i have this problem with original htc charger (usb cable+transformer), and with an "after market" charger.....
if i connect hd to charger (and NOT to pc, but to electric net), everything seems as i connect to a pc....
it could be an hardware problem of phone (i hope no) or it could be a rom problem that could be fixed with hard reset o, i hope, editing the right key....

Charging problems - only charging over USB

Hi there,
I have a big problem with charging my Galaxy S4. It only charges with my notebook USB Port, my AC-adapter does not work.
In the battery menu I can see that AC is connected, when I plug my adapter in. But charging does not work with my device.
Over USB I can charge slowly. This isn't a software problem, I have done some resets and firmware changes since the problem.
Maybe my phone got a little bit wet earlier. Could this be the problem? Can I fix this with changing the USB port part of the hardware?

Yes, I tried another cable but had no success
I dunno if I can ask it here, but i don't charge over usb, i mean it just "hold" the power level for me. Is that normal ?
Is your AC outlet working ?
Having issue where S4 only charges with USB and vibrates when using AC charger
I've been having some issues with my S4. I did recently get it a little wet, but it's working fine in all cases except charging. I have my phone next to my bed charging every night. I noticed it was dead one morning, but I figured I didn't connect the charger properly. The next night I noticed it was vibrating every 5 seconds or so, but the phone had turned off due to a low battery. Very strange behavior.
I realized that it would start charging, but it would stop between 1-3 minutes. The the phone would vibrate and not charge.
I've ready MANY posts from others with the same issue and someone mentioned their phone charges over USB. Seemed odd, but I tried it and voila, my phone charged perfectly. I have many samsung cables, none of which work. It's definitely not the cable. I can plug a samsung cable into my phone connected to AC and it doesn't work. I pull the USB portion out of the AC charger and plug into a computer and it immediately and consistently charges. The battery holds its charge as expected, so it doesn't appear to be a battery issue.
I've tried the developer mode options - no luck.
I've tried bending the charging prong - no luck.
I've tried blowing out the charging port with compressed air - no luck.
I recently got an update pushed to my phone (Sprint), but I don't think it was happening right after the update. Seems like a likely software issue.
I did get my phone a little wet recently, actually it was my young children throwing water at me.
I've read so many posts and nobody seems to have a good answer for this issue. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Charging issues?

Recently my OP2 doesn't seem to charge properly. Meaning...with the USB cord connected to the base it charges for a min then stops. The light stays on as if it's charging but it's not. I have to unplug it and plus it back in and it's fine for a few min then it stops and I have to do it again. This just started happening. I haven't dropped it or anything. The charge port is fine. Anybody else have this problem or HAD this problem...any info would help...
I have this exact same problem with my less than a week old OPT. I think its the charging cable gone bad. Using Ampere to check the charging current, I find that it never goes over 200ma and after about a minute (or lesser) disconnects because the software cuts it off when the current is too low. For now, charging with the phone turned off works, since no software to cut off the charger, but I do not know if this is bad for the battery. I am trying to find another Type C cable now, see if I can confirm this. Will post back if I do.
UPDATE: Was the cable. Friend's xiaomi cable worked perfectly and charged my phone back to 100% while I had dinner. Amazon is giving me a free replacement, so not complaing too much ...

Odd Charging Issue

Hello. I'm wrecking my brain trying to understand this. Yesterday my phone started exhibiting weird charging behavior. It charges fine when plugged into PC, but does not always charge when plugged into wall unit or car charger. I tried multiple cables/charger combinations which all work as expected with my other phones/tablets. It is only with S7 Edge that I started having an issue. Wireless charging works fine as well. I tested multiple charges/cables while the phone is turned off and the result is the same--works well when plugged into PC, and not well when plugged into wall/car charger. When I use wall charger, it may take me multiple attempts to initiate "charge" status. Is my port messed up? Do I have an issue with (some) charging pins? Has anyone experienced similar issues?
Thanks!
