Hello everyone, I have the sprint sph l720 5.0.1 GOK3 lollipop OTA. Could someone please point me in the direction of how to get it rooted and how to flash custom roms. I've rooted and flashed before. But that was before bootloaders started being locked and what not. Is this build available to have the bootloader unlocked , and flash custom recovery and roms? I don't care about warranty so I just need some help doing this please. Thank you for your time and help in advance
Im also looking for a rom for my s4 sph-l720t 5.0.1 GOK3. Im running on ringplus and see plenty of roms for l720 but not for l720t. Thanks to all the devs.

Pull battery from phone, put it back in and go directly into download mode. Flash TWRP via Odin, (uncheck reboot and the set time option. Once flashed unplug from computer, pull battery, put battery back in and go directly to recovery and flash latest working SuperSU and reboot phone. You might also have to install the SuperSU app from play store as well

Hi I have been on this site quite a few times but this is the first time posting. I rooted my s5 using towelroot and everything is working fine but I would like to install cwm recovery. Before I do though I want to make sure I can get back to stock with no issues. I am looking for a unbranded stock firmware for the t-mobile s5. It is currently unlocked and has never been on tmobile. I am currently with net10 which uses the att network. I just don't want to flash tmobiles firmware as I am not on tmobile and don't want all the bloatware. Is there a unbranded stock firmware for the 900T variant? or maybe a way to download the stock recovery at least. I know I can backup my current rom but I dont think that includes the recovery. Thanks in advance.

If you root it first i think Flashify from Play can backup and restore your current kernel and recovery. But first check if Flashify supports the 900T.
BTW the G900T rom G900TUVU1BNG4 is available on Sammobile.com to flash with Odin, you can always debloat/freeze apps/widgets you don`t need.
I found a site with all the firmwares.

NEED HELP Factory Unlocked S5 Firmware SOLVED
Thanks for all the help guys Flashify worked for me perfectly. I needed to backup my stock rom because as I stated before I have a unbranded phone. It is the t-mobile version but if I put the tmobile rom on there I end up with bloatware and whatever else. So I was able to flash cwm recovery and make a backup of my stock rom to my sdcard. Thanks again
Hey guys/gals I know this might be a noob question but I've been looking for a solution all evening.
I recently decided I wanted to install Cyanogen Mod on my GS4 from AT&T but I had already upgraded to 4.4.4 KitKat... (I337UCUFNJ4)
Is it still possible for me to install CWM Recovery? I managed to Root the phone using this guide
unfortunately trying to install ROM Manager just results the phone booting into the default recovery mode and not CWM Recovery.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Phil
Look for SafeStrap in the AT&T Galaxy S4 forums. It is the only recovery that will work with your S4 as AT&T's bootloader is encrypted, a.k.a. locked. The encryption means no custom ROMs. SafeStrap gets around that problem.
I'm a noob when it comes to the s4 custom rom process. On other devices its more simpler like just straight up putting a custom recovery then putting a custom rom. But I was wondering if there was anyway to put lollipop on my s4. I'm on 4.4.2 with NC1 (whatever that is) on ATT with root from towel root. I have the new safestrap apk downloaded but I won't install it unless there is a way to get lollipop. Thank you for your help.

Actually I'm fine using 4.4.4 because I found a rom compatible for safestrap but I'm still unsure on how to install, same with safestrap, any help?
If you use safestrap then you will not have lollipop available until at&t releases its update.
Hey guys,
My brother has the S4 i337 model and he's on 4.4.2
This phone is unlocked and he's using Tmobile on it.
For some reason it cannot find 4.4.4 via OTA and Kies
Is this because it's on tmobile or this model didn't get 4.4.4 yet.
Do I need to root it and flash a rom on it?
Thanks

Some models of the Samsung Galaxy S4 just didn't get the update, for instance my i337 didn't even get the 4.4.2 Kitkat update and was stuck on JellyBean. Your best bet is to just flash a 4.4.4 Rom on it. Clears out the bloated stock software.

that's really lame
So to make sure I do this the right way
I have to root the phone first
then install custom recovery
then flash rom right?
Or does the boot loader need to be unlocked?
Any rom recommendations?
I'd like for it to be stock so it's stable since my brother needs this for testing purposes

Yes correct, but if your boot loader is locked then you're going to need to download SafeStrap Recovery for locked bootloaders. Then once you have installed that, there's only very limited amount of Roms you can install because of the kernel, if you find a ROM that changes the kernel your phone won't boot. But a ROM that is fully working is called "GoldenEye ROM" its a 4.4.2 ROM but is really clean, stock, and clears out all that bloated nonsense. There's no 4.4.4 Roms for locked bootloaders yet.

thanks for this info
I'll look into it
Recently, I unroot my GT-i9505 and flashed a stock Samsung 5.0.1 to my phone. Now I wanna root my device again and flash a Deodexed stock Samsung 4.4.2. I search through the internet and multiple forum. Every method I try, it fail. Most the time Odin will run until recovery.img then either stuck or fail.
The rom I'm using is lrx22c.i9505xxuhoa7. I tried to use CF-auto root, doesn't work. What you guys recommend me to do?
Search in S4 General. There are tutorials for rooting an Android 5.0.1 device. After that, install a recovery through Odin and flash away.
tell us if you ca do the downgrade, because i want to do the upgrade now, but i don´t now if i will satisfied with lollipop, thanks!
I search for numerous post and thread on internet already. Pretty much none is working.
Here's some method I tried and doesn't work. Also, I can't even install TWRP recovery.

I'm not sure I'm missing something. When I flash, do I really have to wipe data and re-partition?
I can't answer that. I never installed Touchwiz 5.0.1 on my device and went straight from my Black Edition ROM to Danvdh's GPE ROM.
