[Q] NEED HELP Factory Unlocked S5 Firmware - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi I have been on this site quite a few times but this is the first time posting. I rooted my s5 using towelroot and everything is working fine but I would like to install cwm recovery. Before I do though I want to make sure I can get back to stock with no issues. I am looking for a unbranded stock firmware for the t-mobile s5. It is currently unlocked and has never been on tmobile. I am currently with net10 which uses the att network. I just don't want to flash tmobiles firmware as I am not on tmobile and don't want all the bloatware. Is there a unbranded stock firmware for the 900T variant? or maybe a way to download the stock recovery at least. I know I can backup my current rom but I dont think that includes the recovery. Thanks in advance.

If you root it first i think Flashify from Play can backup and restore your current kernel and recovery. But first check if Flashify supports the 900T.
BTW the G900T rom G900TUVU1BNG4 is available on Sammobile.com to flash with Odin, you can always debloat/freeze apps/widgets you don`t need.

I found a site with all the firmwares.

NEED HELP Factory Unlocked S5 Firmware SOLVED
Thanks for all the help guys Flashify worked for me perfectly. I needed to backup my stock rom because as I stated before I have a unbranded phone. It is the t-mobile version but if I put the tmobile rom on there I end up with bloatware and whatever else. So I was able to flash cwm recovery and make a backup of my stock rom to my sdcard. Thanks again

Samsung Galaxy S4 I337 cannot find latest update 4.4.4

Hey guys,
My brother has the S4 i337 model and he's on 4.4.2
This phone is unlocked and he's using Tmobile on it.
For some reason it cannot find 4.4.4 via OTA and Kies
Is this because it's on tmobile or this model didn't get 4.4.4 yet.
Do I need to root it and flash a rom on it?
Thanks

Some models of the Samsung Galaxy S4 just didn't get the update, for instance my i337 didn't even get the 4.4.2 Kitkat update and was stuck on JellyBean. Your best bet is to just flash a 4.4.4 Rom on it. Clears out the bloated stock software.

that's really lame
So to make sure I do this the right way
I have to root the phone first
then install custom recovery
then flash rom right?
Or does the boot loader need to be unlocked?
Any rom recommendations?
I'd like for it to be stock so it's stable since my brother needs this for testing purposes

Yes correct, but if your boot loader is locked then you're going to need to download SafeStrap Recovery for locked bootloaders. Then once you have installed that, there's only very limited amount of Roms you can install because of the kernel, if you find a ROM that changes the kernel your phone won't boot. But a ROM that is fully working is called "GoldenEye ROM" its a 4.4.2 ROM but is really clean, stock, and clears out all that bloated nonsense. There's no 4.4.4 Roms for locked bootloaders yet.

Custom and Stock ROMs Question

Hi everyone, I have question that I hope you can answer.
Today I flashed a Custom Recovery and Rooted my Note 3 SM N900. Everything is working fine, I rooted my phone in order to delete apps like trip advisor, s health among other apps. But I've seen that there are 6.0 ROMs for my phone. I've seen many tutorials and I would like to flash a custom ROM. (I'm thinking on flashing Resurrection Remix 5.1.1 for my SM N900). I already made my efs folder backup.
So, my question is this. When I decide to go back to a stock ROM (Lollipop Samsung Touchwiz the one I currently have) do I need to do something extra? Like, I would be able to flash a sotck samsung ROM through TWPR recovery for example? or what I need to do is just flash through odin?
Could you please tell me what I need to know on this cases?
Thank you very much! :good:
just flash with odin and you r good to go

And What about the bootloader? Do I Need to unlock it if I want to install any custom ROM? I installed TWRP recovery on my phone, then I Rooted the phone. The steps that I've seen on the Internet to flash a Custom ROM doesn't have a step that unlocks bootloader or so.
Or the bootloader is unlocked since I rooted the phone? I'm confused. I really appreciated if you or someone could explain this doubt.
Thanks in advance. :good:
N900 is already factory bootloader unlocked

Using a bootloader unlock app could brick the phone. The only note 3 I know of with a locked bootloader is the AT&T Sm-900a.

Sprint s4 sph l720 GOK3 5.0.1 root help

Hello everyone, I have the sprint sph l720 5.0.1 GOK3 lollipop OTA. Could someone please point me in the direction of how to get it rooted and how to flash custom roms. I don't care about warranty so I just need some help doing this please. Thank you for your time and help in advance

Pull battery from phone, put it back in and go directly into download mode. Flash TWRP via Odin, (uncheck reboot and the set time option. Once flashed unplug from computer, pull battery, put battery back in and go directly to recovery and flash latest working SuperSU and reboot phone. You might also have to install the SuperSU app from play store as well

Update Canadian G7 with official US firmware?

I understand rooting and installing custom ROMs, as well as using ODIN to flash back to stock firmware, but I just want to double check something.
My mom has an unrooted, Canadian G7-L03. She would like something at least 5.0, but Wind and Videotron don't offer anything beyond 4.4.4.
But on the American website, they offer 5.1.1 and 6.0.0. Is it as simple as flashing the new ROM with ODIN? Or do I need to root first? Will it network lock the phone?
How do I know if it's compatible? Everything I see online seems to say that it is exactly the same (I think?).
if its from videotron you can use this guide to upgrade http://ministryofsolutions.com/2016...date-to-marshmallow-canada-latin-america.html
If its from Wind, don't even try to touch it

Removing T-mobile branding

I got a used GT-935T phone very recently in India, which was still running android 6.0. On browsing these forums, I found out that we could flash stock rom on it without rooting, so I did so using Odin. I flashed the stock rom of Android 7.0 for t-mobile 935T, which was what my phone was supposed to be.
Is there any way to flash stock rom of 935F or 935FD on my phone?
Is there any way to remove the T-mobile branding from my phone?

You can flash the U firmware (Samsung stock). No bloatware from any carrier, I've use it and is great. Do a search and you will find the firmware in the forum.
