Huawei backup on PLK-L01 - Honor 7 General

I have EU version of Honor 7 and I realized that, when I update Backup app via HiApp (Huawei alternative to Play Store), I'm able to backup/restore stored wifi passwords. EU version of backup app is not able to do it.
Maybe it will help soneone.

Question on back up before flashing new firmware

hi,
I on KF2 stock firmware now and I want o flash KG5 which i suppose is latest.
I learnt that Google does not store the apps which i had installed previously. Every time I flash (wipe) I have to install the apps from beginning and the My apps in Market is always empty.
I have / had switched on the sync but never worked for me
I think I can take a backup using Titanium backup and restore it
Question is:
1. I have 3G watchdog installed and it has stored the bandwidth consumed. Is it possible to backup/restore the data ? if so how?
2. IS it somehow possible to make Google remember my apps installed?
Thanks

When you first set up the phone, there will be a question on whether you want google to back up your apps and data (contacts, etc). However, it only applies to apps installed via market, and not for those installed via backup. I think it's not related to sync, but with backup.
Google only backup your apps, but not the data related to them. Just copy the folder with the info and paste in the same directory after the backup. It should work latter with no problem.

ok thank you very much

Amazon underground apps disappear

I've realized that most of my Amazon apps have disappeared from my S7 edge. If I install some apps directly from Amazon app store or if I restore a backup of them with Titanium Backup, they only appear and work until I restart the phone.
my s7 edge has the newest DBT stock rom.
How can I fix this problem?
Thanks!
I think I have this issue too, only one app installed but it's gone grey.
I am on the newest Australian firmware, no carrier.
If you restored a backup using titanium it might be a problem of linking the store licence with the app while restoring. Could be that titanium backup is linking your playstore account to these underground apps.
Did you try to manually install amazon underground, activate unknown sources, then install the apps? Maybe you test at least 2-3 apps.
No root or backups here. I did install Amazon manually from a new download. I only installed the one game and noticed it was grey last week. It's just Tetris, haven't even played it yet.
I was taking to @rambo21es he has used titanium
In your case.. Could it be that you got Tetris with Amazons actually free program? Here in Germany Tetris isn't "actually free" (anymore?).

It didn't work directly from Amazon store, as I have said, and it didn't work with Titanium backup.
Finally I did wipe data and everything works now.
I've got several apps I got from Amazon (for free) quite a while ago, and have no problem with them. They all seem to be working fine. I'm not rooted, so I obviously didn't restore from my prior Titanium backup, but had no problem reinstalling them from Amazon.
You did reinstall the Amazon Underground app, right?

Cannot restore from HiSuite Backup

I'm having a really frustrating issue with a HiSuite Backup that I made. My P8 Lite ran into that infamous WiFi issue that seems to be plaguing a number of these devices. I made a backup using HiSuite of the device and sent it off to Huawei for service. Once I got the device fixed and returned to me, I plugged it back in with HiSuite to restore the backup, where it detects the backup but when I attempt to restore, it gets stuck on "Waiting" for all items and the progress bar remains stuck at 0% with the message "Copying files to your device... Do not disconnect." This goes on for hours until I manually cancel. The one data point that I really care about are the contacts, and there seems to be no way to get them back. Help plz, anyone?
I read somewhere about granting the backup app permissions, but there's no permissions manager in my Settings. Also, if I go to App Info for Huawei Backup, it says "No Permissions Requested" and is grayed out, so I cannot manually change it.
Huawei Backup app version is 7.1.1.306_OVE.
My HiSuite is version 5.0.0.301_OVE
and my P8 Lite is build number ALE-L21C185B525.
I could really use some guidance here; I'm going nuts otherwise.
The only version of HiSuite that works for me is the old 2.3 something
If not resolved...
Have you checked the App Info > Permissions for the HiSuite app?
Have you tried choosing only the 'Contacts' backup in HiSuite when restoring? In other words, deselect all the others. If that works, restore each module one at a time.
Where is the HiSuite backup stored - can you provide the full directory path on your PC/laptop?

HiSuite has all permissions available, so that shouldn't be an issue.
Yup, I've tried restoring individual modules and they don't work. I also tried making a new backup but that doesn't get restored either.
The backup is stored in my D: drive; the same folder that I specified in HiSuite. Here's the full path, in case that's of any use.
D:\Huawei Backup\Hisuite\backup\ALE-L21_2016-10-24 05.19.13
What Hisuite version should I attempt to use? I see 4.0 something on Huawei's website but when i install it, it automatically updates to the version that I mentioned in my original post (5.0 something).
I had a similar problem with my daughters Huawei P8 Lite which also had WiFi problems.
I took the opportunity to upgrade the new phone to HUAWEI P8 Lite_Firmware_(ALE-L21_C432B551_Single SIM Version,Bulgaria,Android_6.0_EMUI_4.0_05012XPF)
But when I tried to restore from Huawei Backup it kept coming up with a message to update Huawei Backup via play store on my phone which I thought I had done.
However, when I went into playstore I found the Huawei Backup update awaiting manual intervention. Once I clicked update it came back with the message that new features had been installed for Android 6.0 and I was able to complete the restore OK.
BTW the update version playstore installed on my phone was 4.4
I hope this helps?
Same issue, hisuite looks for csv, vcf files on my pc but thereĀ“s none with that extension in the backup folder, but apk or db files
Good day
I have the same issue of the restoring process being stuck on the "copying files...do not disconnect... 0% progress".
I have checked the versions of the backup app on my phone, as well as the HiSuite...
I even tried copying the backup file to my phone and restoring the backup via my phone - does not even see the backup file/folder.
And now,as if all of this is not enough - Huawei's website does not load!
What to do?? Please help!

I don't know if you're still facing this problem, but in case someone else runs into it, this is what did it for me:
1. Connect the phone to the PC via USB
2. Make sure the HDB and ADB are active for HiSuite
3. Enable HDB in charge only mode
4. Open HiSuite on the PC
5. Select the backup to be restored (or which files/folders you want to restore)
6. Input the encryption password
7. Wait until it restores everything you selected
Once the restoring process finishes, remember to disable ADB on charge only mode since it would pose a security risk for you.
I deleted some videos by mistake, having tried the app, but after connecting and searching it shows result Video is 0 (zero), so does that mean the videos have gone completely? why it cant find it? can anyone advise?

Questions on debloating U Firmware (Nougat)

Hi I recently am trying to upgrade to Nougat and have it rooted.
Before I update, I have backed up all my user apps with Titanium Backup
But it seems to me that some apps being preinstalled with U firmware (such as Whatsapp, Instagram, Facebook etc) as system, I am not able to use Titanium Backup to restore the data for them. So I decided to get it removed from my system app and install it again on Google Play as User App.
I am not sure if its the difference of Nougat from MM, but when I used Root Explorer to have it deleted from /System/App, what I still see in Application is "Disable/Enable", same to Google Play, it shows Disable or Update. Therefore the crap is still there even if I have deleted from System/App.
Is there anybody who would tell me how Either I can restore my old data with Titanium Backup or Completely have it deleted from system to reinstall?
Cheers!
Hi I'm not sure how to fix your problem once you use titanium bavkup. But if you use samsung smartswitch and backup to external sdcard. That works very well. Then you just import backup from sdcard.

How to restore a Huawei HiSuite Backup on my Xiaomi

Hello
After a bad fall, my Huawei P9 is not working anymore. The only backup I have, was done with the Huawei official tool (HiSuite).
I really want to get back all my data (applications data and especially all the messages) on my new phone (Mi A1).
How can I restore the backup on my Mi A1?
Is it possible to convert a Huawei backup into a Xiaomi backup in order to restore it?
About the messages, I have them in two different formats: an sms.db file and a .csv file.
Is it possible to restore this kind of files?
Thank you in advance
