Hi everyone,
I messed a bit with my d802 and finally i used the lg support tool to get it back to stock, but now it can't read my sim card all of a sudden (no sim card inserted).
So the question is where are the sim card files, in the kernel or the rom or the baseband ? and how to get them back so it reads my sim card.
I'd be happy to bring you more info on the problem.
Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem, reflashing the 10B firmware then upgrading to the OTA 12A fixed the issue.

Did you sort this?
If not try this
Power OFF the phone. Remove the SIM card completely for at least 1 minute.
Re-insert the SIM card, Power ON.
If it works, I'll tell you why...

OK - good. This is a fairly common "problem" when making significant ROM changes - but doesn't always happen.
In basic terms...
When the phone is powered OFF, it isn't actually completely OFF. Some "parts" are still powered. The SIM card and its register are "parts" that remains powered and the register is sometimes overwritten when a ROM is flashed. This means when the new ROM boots, the SIM card and the register are different, hence no network as the phone assumes a fault.
The SIM card needs to be removed with the power off (NEVER with it on) so the phone detects a SIM swap and the register is refreshed.
TIP: Before flashing a new ROM - always remove the SIM card (with the Power OFF).

Hey, anyone else with this problem?
My g2 suddenly stopped to recognize my sim card.... everything else works properly...

No SIM CARD after official lollipop stock rom update
Hi,
I have updated my LG G2 F320L (Korean Version by UPlus) on Lollipop successfully.
But now my SIM Card is not detecting. I am in Pakistan and dont know what to do now.
I tried to restart the phone with no sim and with sim and also flashed the same stock rom again but still no sim card.
I also tried to put the following codes i.e. for IMEI *#06# and for SIM Unlock menu 2945#*320# which didn't work too.
I also did factory reset many times with sim and without sim.
Tried to do rooting throguh Towelroot and Stumproot but no success.
Dear All, Please help as what might be the problem.

Unfortunately I don't have a solution yet, but I wanted to point out that I am in the same situation ATM. German lg g2 though. Please any new input would be highly appreciated.
Issue Resolved
Hi I took the phone to the android expert in mobile market in my area SADDAR AREA-RAWALPINDI CITY-PAKISTAN. Where he highlighted that the ROM, Baseband and Radios where not compatible as well as my phone had some EEPROM problem as well. So he hooked a small box like USB device and pushed the ROM into it via OTG along with the new stock ROM. Now my phone is working perfectly fine and I am more than happy and thankful to the expert. My current stock ROM is lollipop version: 5.0.1

I know this thread is hella old but, I stumbled upon this (after returning to the G2 temprorarliy - had it back in 2013/14) after restoring a stock LG ROM backup and it wasn't recognizing my SIM card. Anyways, this method worked for me to get the phone to recognize my SIM. Thanks for posting this.

continuing the hella old trend.... this fix did not work for me
Hello
I'm having a problem getting my G2 to recognize the SIM card. I just did a glass/digitizer/LCD/casing replacement and everything else is working no problems. I put the card in my old phone and no problems with the card. Looking into the card reader all the pins seem to be intact. You can see the marks on the SIM card chip from the pins. The device is rooted. My next step is to do a backup and reflash the factory ROM. I can't really see this being the problem though...
Any other ideas?
hey guys,
I have just gotten my phone back from repair. It was getting the cracked lCD replaced.
So i went and put my SIM card into the SIM slot then i rebooted my phone, just to see a "No SIM" message which then proceeded to say "Insert SIM card". My wifi and everything is working and i can make emergency calls. I have previously had problems with my EFS folder and a corrupt IMEI but i fixed that issue and i don't believe that these two incidents are related whatsoever.
This is the thread with all of the information of my last problem. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/help/service-t2898890
To try and solve this new problem, i have done the following:
1. Taken the sim card out and restarted phone and entered the sim card back in numerous times in various different sequences.
2. Done a full factory reset, reflashed a new rom, modem and bootloader.
3. Restored the EFS folder.
4. Tried a different SIM card.
This could be a hardware issue, but i feel as though it is software related, but i am no genius so i am open to any suggestions as to what it may be and how i may be able to fix it. If i am not able to fix it i will just send it back to the phone repairers and see what they can do to resolve the problem, but that would be the last thing i want to do.
thanks for any help.
not to worry. I have now solved the problem and everything is working perfectly.

i was on android 4.4.2 thouchwiz, i then upgraded to android 5, which also meant i had to upgrade the modem, which seemed to fix the problem. I then downgraded back down to android 4.4.2 touchwiz and that solved the problem.
so maybe you could try upgrading your modem or something? let me know if that works.

By modem do you mean radio?
It's an unrooted phone in my case, unfortunately.
the modem is a file or software i guess you could say in which controls the the signal on your phone.
hmmmm, im not sure what you could do then... im guessing you do not plan on rooting either?
So my SD card (Samsung Pro plus 32GB) just got corrupted, I dont know how, but maybe from me flashing a new firmware or something.
whats broken here? I plugged the sd card to my PC and reformatted it and its still corrupted on my phone,
So is the SD card broken?, Phone hardware or software?
is there a fix?
thanks
EDIT:
SD card is 100% fine on my PC and TWRP recovery can detect it and I even managed to get a Nandroid backup saved to it through TWRP, whats going on?, but on Android it always shows up as SD card is corrupted.
NEVERMIND! I Reflashed the same XSA firmware and now SDCard works, its software side problem.!
Hey, I've had my Moto X Pure (XT1575) for a bit over a year now, and it's been great up until I updated it to 7.0 a week ago. It has been saying "No SIM card" and I have been unable to do much with it. Rebooting the phone will fix the issue and cell service will work for for about 5 minutes, then it disconnects again. Taking the sim card out and putting it back in will also fix it for about 5 minutes. I have cleaned the sim card and port, but that has not helped. I have also tried factory resetting the phone but the issue is still there, even during setup. The phone is running stock android with a locked bootloader. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Replace the SIM card...
Check if another SIM card is working fine with the phone or not. If yes, then you need to follow what acejavelin has suggested above.
