I bricked my Defy + maybe - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I can't reinstall my defy+: in RSD Lite i installed in boot mode the stock rom, but don't reboot, i can't power on, charging is good ( white LED is light up), but nothing else.
One short push in the Power button: Power on and black screen ( + connected to the computer, i hear the USB plugged sound), one short push in the Power button: Power off ( Usb Plugged out).
In first time, i'm do the RSD Lite flashing in Bootloader , after than, no bootloeader, just a black screen.
So, i think, i'm stucked in Bootloader mode.
( In RSD Lite: if i push shortly the power button: connected, and i push once again the power button shortly: i can't see in the list in RSD Lite)
I try so many SBF file, but i can't find the right one.
I need help please :'(

I found an SBF file: if i use this, the bootloader and boot animation is get back.
But no android OS.

Problem solved. Defy + back in life.

You verified the CG version before flashing the full SBF ??
you can still flash a new rom threw rsd lite.
I would say you done the same as me I tried to flash a version with a lower version and it wouldnt boot at all.
Power the phone on holding the volume up button and connect the USB, It wont show the bootloader screen but RSD lite should say its connected.
You might have to plug it in and out of the usb cable a few times (well I did) till RSD lite connects to it.
You will have to find out what version you had previously and flash the same version or higher (try to stay on the same version if you can)
Dunno if stock recovery would help:
How do I enter Recovery Mode?!: With the Phone off press VOLUME DOWN then, while still pressed, power up the phone and leave VOL key pressed until you see a Yellow triangle, once you see this you are in Recovery now press Vol Up and Vol Down at the same time (if you are in Froyo) and the menu will appear, if you are on Éclair the menu should appear without having to press anything
This is a copy/paste from all in one guide
if its like mine the screen does not show anything, you cant get into bootloader or recovery screen. Well I think it goes into bootloader as RSD lite can read it but it will not show anything on the screen.
I think my problem was trying to install the CM9 kernel as I used the same process and left out flashing the CM9 kernel and it worked perfect, Lucky some one that helped me get my phone working again suggested this to me.
So I now have ICS working by just installing it and Gapps and left out the CM9 kernel
Not sure if that is what you are trying to do but you should be able to flash a new rom with what I said above. Just making sure its the same BL version as your previous install
Thz for all your help,I can fix my defy+ since I using bl7 sbf
I think I will root it and flash other rom soon

Defy Dead!!

I was using cm10 2/11 for defy green lens.. I flashed indian froyo.. and it didn't boot up.. but when I connect to my comp it shows a white light... and gets detected in rsd lite.. so I flashed Chinese sbf .. den the phone was again black and not booting... not it is not getting detected on my comp but it is showing white led light.. plz help out...:crying:
Try this:
1. Pull out the phone battery
2. Put it back in the phone and press and hold volume down + power button and hold it for about 6-7 seconds, then release.
3. If a Robot logo appeared, you are lucky. Now press volume up + down at the same time, or press back button.
4. You should be in stock recovery now, touch Wipe data and then wipe cache. After that, press Reboot and the system should boot up
Also, a warning: I was flashing that chinese .sbf numerous times, and the result is bricked flashlight. So, flash it only when you need to!

Can you boot into bootloader? (Power + Volume up)
Install motorola drivers for pc, install rsd, enter the bootloader with power+volume up buttons like xiihyou said, then connect your phone via usb to pc and start the rsd proces flashing....
Should Help
The same happen to me , solution is simple .....
Just Install drivers ( HERE http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1100585)
Pull out battery, now put it back with Power button and Volume up pressed together
you should be in bootloader mode
Now choose the right SBF file for your Phone .....
After you Defy boots up, Shut it down -> wipe data and cache ( Press Power button and Volume Down)
And now your mobile should be OK

Defy won't start

I have a problem with my Motorola defy(non+). After i installed by mistake Android 4.4 with kernel 3.0 by Quarx, my defy wouldn't boot into the OS.
Tried to install another ROM but it ran into a problem and failed. Tried to install after that a new SBF because i don't know why the recovery menu was not there anymore.
Suddenly, after it finished, i noticed the phone won't power up anymore. It happened to me 2 times in the past and just adjusting the charger end into the phone carefully worked and i could power on the phone and install a different sbf and solve the problem but now it's different.
The phone won't power up with that method again.
When i connected the phone into the laptop the white led appeared, but without powering it on, RDS lite identified the device.
I installed a froyo 2.2.2 CEE sbf succesfully(it said) but it doesn't power up and now RDS lite doesn't recognise it either.(LED still works though)
What can i do?

Try wiping data and cache in the stock recovery. To get into the stock recovery, power off the phone, hold in the volume- button then also press and hold the power button. After a few seconds you should see a triangle with an exclamation mark in the middle, and a little green android guy below that. Then press the volume+ and volume- buttons at the same time, and a menu should appear. Use the volume buttons to navigate the menu, and the power button to select an option. Select "wipe data/factory reset" and also "wipe cache partition". Then try to reboot the phone.
If the phone still won't boot, go into bootloader before connecting to RSD lite. To go into bootloader, power off your phone, then hold in the volume+ button and the power button at the same time. After about 5 seconds, release the buttons. The bootloader should display – it will show the version and a battery check. (If that doesn’t work, pull the battery, then put it back in while holding the volume+ and power buttons.) Then connect USB cable and use RSD Lite to flash sbf again.
Hi. So i kinda repaired my defy but it still has a problem. It does not want to charge without using MCGyver method. Everything else works fine, except the phone does not detect my battery so instead it shows a question mark. BTW i deleted by mistake the sbf but i know it was chinese. Only that sbf worked. Could you find me a good working sbf?

Only bootloader accessible after MacGyver-style

Hi people,
I have a Motorola Defy plus (MB526) lying around. Because it is such a nice phone, I'd like to use it as second/backup/emergency device, but my last attempts to install a not-completely-outdated OS failed miserabely.
Now, the phone is in the following state:
- Power button does nothing, vol down + power also nothing.
- When plugged in, white LED is on, but battery apparently does not charge.
- Vol up + power gets me into a bootloader screen, but I have a "battery low" error message.
- By destroying a USB cable I was able to manually connect 5V to the battery when inside the phone, so I now get: Battery OK, OK to program, transfer mode USB.
Also, when now booting, the Motorola sign appears for a few seconds and the phone gets stuck in the boot animation of an old CM version that I previously tried to install.
Does somebody know how to proceed from here to flash any functioning ROM? Or to flash TWRP or CWM?
Can I somehow access the phone in this state using adb? Could fastboot flash recovery work (at the moment, I only get <waiting for device>) after getvar all?
I would appreciate any help. Thanks a lot,
Jay

Flash the correct SBF using RSD Lite or sbf_flash to your Defy+ MB526 which would be using CG version 5, 6 or 7. I recommend flashing a lower CG SBF such as DHT-22 SBF. Then wipe data/factory reset in Motorola Stock Recovery by pressing Vol Down and Power Button simultaneously. If you get a black screen then flash a higher CG SBF.
