So, this is an amazing phone. I just came from my Nexus One and I absolutely love it. However, the fact that the screen scratches so easily bugs the living heck out of me. I mean, it's just from when I pocket it and there is nothing I can do about it. How come it scratches so much compared to my phones in the past? I've reverted back to my Nexus One until my pouch comes here.
Also, anyone able to recommend some screen protectors that actually feel like glass that cover the whole phone? Would love to use those, but can't find any that don't feel like rubber or something, and I prefer that glass feeling.
My favourite screen protectors ever: http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/google/nexus-4.html
I'm personally rocking a SGP Spigen Dual Protector for days when I want to run my Nexus 4 naked. You can barely tell that there's a screen protector on the front and back.
I came from the Nexus One as well, but I haven't had any problem with the screen (or any other part of the N4) scratching. No screen protectors, but I am using a pouch from Waterfield Designs. Not saying OP is wrong; just saying that it's possible to do just fine with naked phone + pouch if screen protectors aren't your thing.
Had no problems with nexus 4 screen unlike my old galaxy nexus but just ordered best skin ever for awesome protection

Quick question, I was interested in a Cruzerlite Bugdroid Circuit case for my N4, but I was wondering if the case would lift up my screen protector (using a Extreme Guard protector, covers the glass edge to edge). If anyone with some experience with the case and a full covered screen protector let me know how it worked out for you I'd appreciate it.

I have a cruzerlite case. It does not have the lip around the edges. So it won't cause the screen protector lifts.

Anyone else have any info on this? I'd like to get some more opinions or info from more people so I can get a good general idea if it does lift screen protectors or not before I purchase cause shipping to Canada is damn expensive from Cruzerlite. From the videos I've seen it seems like it would since it covers some bezel so I would assume when putting it on it would, but if it's a tight enough fit I'm assuming it may or may not lift the screen protectors (wet apply types) either if put on properly right away,
You will need to head over to the accessory department of the Nexus 4 forum.

Do you guys think that the S7 edge screen is good enough to go without a screen protector?
Asking because I bought one yesterday and the side of it has a lot of dust already. So not sure if I want to have a screen protector on it. Or can someone recommend a good protector for the edge.

What does dust have to do with not wanting a screen protector?
None of my phones will ever be "naked". I usually get Spigen products but their screen protectors didn't have good ratings for the S6 Edge so now I don't know.
I just want something for my edge don't be so slippery.. I have to figure it out which one ... Some advices ?

The sides of the protector keep raising up and collecting lent and dust. I thought this would probably be more of a problem with the edge since the screen curves. That's why I thought maybe to not have one on it.

I'm waiting for Zagg glass contour . They claim it'll over from edge to edge!

Link or release days?
is it gonna be rare to see tempered glass with full protection over the curve?
Not using one, saw a few drop and scratch tests, and it seems to be scratch resistant. Just using a case.

In another thread someone reached out to zagg. There estimating sometime in July lol so yeah I wouldn't wait too long for that to happen
I've ordered some dirt cheap tpu screen protectors but not too sure how well they fit until they arrive. The reviews were really good but they could be fake seeing as not many people have the phone. I'll wait and see.
They will be coming. For the S6E, it took a while b/c of the learning curve. The S7E glass should be coming out much faster.
I've been using glass on my S6E for about 7 months now.

I got a plastic one on right now but have a colour matched glass one arriving today

I havent decided on a screen protector yet, maybe i'll just use a slim case, or tempered glass on the back, but not sure about the screen tbh...
I remember taking nails and trying to scratch the old iPhone when they first came out with gorilla glass just to show people how tough it was... We are on gorllia glass 4 now. I'd be far more worried about cracking the glass than scratching it...
Well, I own the s6 edge plus and I managed to get a ton of microscratches on the screen. That said, I only see the scratches in direct sunlight with it not really being visible indoors. This time around, I might go with a screen protector to avoid those microscratches. I'm assuming this is the same GG4 used on the front of the edge plus.

Now i must say, thats one gorgeous Galaxy... I'm impressed
If you want some extra grip, look at slickwraps or dbrand skins for front and back coverage.

I'm really getting sick of the rubber feel of the tpu protectors. Have a zagg on it now, and need to replace it with a new one, so I ordered a bestskinsever.
I hate the feel and the look, and I'm tempted to just use it naked and say screw it if it gets scratched. And if it gets really bad just order an insurance replacement.
What does the xda crowd think?
I don't use a screen protector, but I do use a tech21 case, which flips over the screen and covers it while in my pocket. Case takes some getting used to though.

I don't use one, I haven't used one on my iPhone 6s, S6, or Note 4 either. I'm not overly easy on my phone's but I'm concious about what I do with them, like phone and keys not in the same pocket ect. Screen's now are pretty damn resilient but if you toss it in a purse or bag with other things I'd get one.

I don't use a screen protector. I keep it in my left pocket with nothing else in the pocket.
They sell tempered glass protectors on Amazon. That would get rid of that rubber feel. I personally don't use one though. Small scratches on the screen will make the screen easier to break though. Think of it like etching glass like they do windows etc.. then they literally break it along the etch.

There's been a lot of discussion about TGSP for the GS7E, and it looks like pretty much no-one is satisfied with what is yet available for varying reasons.
There's a discussion thread in the main GS7E forum => link which people should review before buying a TGSP, in my opinion.

I've tried one for my iPhone 6s and it shattered without even dropping my phone. I know there no way the actual screen would have cracked doing the same thing. The curved ones seem to be way weaker than the flat ones.

Zagg has a tgsp now, I haven't used it but want to try it. I have a bodyguardz on right now and can't really tell. It doesn't cover the whole screen so it doesn't interfere with my speck case. The old zagg did and barely lasted a month before it started peeling up

I haven't used one on any phone I've had for ages. Never cared for the blurry look they give the screen. I'm sure they've improved since the first couple smartphones but I've never bothered. I never put my phone in a pocket with anything else (that just seems like begging for problems regardless of having a screen protector or not), and I've never had the slightest scratch on any of them. Always use a case, but never anything that covers the screen itself. They just never come in contact with anything that could ever scratch them.
I have never used a screen protector on any phone and I have never gotten any noticeable stractches. I did get a couple minor scratches on a couple phone screens, but they were so fine that you could only see them in a reflection of a bright light when the screen was off. I did break a screen once when I sat down and the phone fell out of my pocket onto concrete, but luckily that was an HTC phone so it got replaced for free. I don't usually use a case either, but I do have one on my S7 Edge. Knock on wood.
I am using my phone naked right now with no issue. I have drop it many times, only the corner metal part is scratch, glass is perfectly fine.
I use the Zagg HD Screen Protectors. Not the tempered glass kind. You can't even tell it's there. No grainy look or feel.

Hi,
I bought a tempered glass screen protector for my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which also covers the curved screen edges. I tried putting on a fitted case and BOOM, the tempered glass broke. I guess it caught on the glass.
Any tips on my next buy and attempt? [emoji23]

I've heard that they are all pretty much no good. I looked for awhile when I had my S7 and nothing really worked.

I've also watched some YouTube videos and when they tried to put on a case with their tempered glass on, it gets removed.

The minimal protection cases work fine with tempered glass screen protectors, but you will have problems with virtually all combinations of rugged protection cases and tempered glass screen protectors.
Huge discussion in the Accessories forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/accessories/curved-tempered-glass-screen-protector-t3320688
Basically it has been decided that all of the tempered glass screen protectors are the same Chinese crap, just purchased and branded by different companies. Even well respected companies like ZAGG are guilty of this. The one from GPEL is the least bad, but it is still not great and they keep delaying their revised version.

Thank you. So, for the mean time, I'll just have to choose between having a protective case or a screen protection? [emoji23]

You could always use a case friendly film protector. Of course this will not protect the glass from breaking, just scratches. I'm using this combo with the UAG case, rather have the drop protection that just the screen.
How far has the film protectors come? I've used one many years ago and the feeling was sluggish, like my finger sticked a bit to the film.

There's a very long, detailed thread on TGSPs in the S7 Edge accessories forum. Suggest you look there.
