Hi can anybody know how to fix freezing of twrp when we click on reboot.
Every time we have to remove battery to boot into system after using twrp.
When you start the twrp, he show a message about "mount system" or any other message?

boot into twrp and see that mount system read only is not clicked if clicked unclick it and power off your device then boot into recovery it will not freeze
You need swap to mount the system! Do it when you start the twrp and show a message about it!
When i used odin 3.7 it freezes but now I am using odin 3.10. It doesn't hangs.

Every ROM I try to install on my Kindle Fire give me the error Cannot load /misc!,which then causes it to reboot back into recovery. Then when I manually start my Kindle into the NORMAL BOOTUP, it boots into TWRP. This happens on every ROM I try. Any ideas?
Are you using TWRP?
The error saying it can't load misc volume (kindle doesn't have it) is normal and doesn't effect the install at all.
you will allways get this error because the kf don't have a volume misc - simply ignore it !
yes - it installs without any problems - the roms for the kf don't have any data or reference to this volume - this ingore the error
It's going to take a while to boot up for the first time so just sit back an be patient, the CM7 animation may spin for a minute or two before finally booting to the home screen.
good point airmaxx23 !
had a case where the prerooted stock rom needed 20min for the first boot !
but it booted correctly and everything is ok
Wait, you tried pressing the "reboot" button on the same screen that appeared after you flashed the rom, didn't you? Hitting that button actually does launch you back into TWRP after every ROM flash.
If you navigate back to the TWRP home screen and go reboot> system, then it will begin to boot into the ROM without any problems. The /misc problem happens with every ROM that I've tried.

this is what appears in the window when I select install
Install /sdcard/cm9-02-24.zip
E:Cannot load volumen /misc!
Finding update package…
Opening update package…
Installing update… (and immediately appears the next without loading or anything)
E: Cannot load volumen /misc!
This is another installation I tried:
Install /sdcard/Energy.zip
E:Cannot load volumen /misc!
Finding update package…
Opening update package…
Installing update… (the same, no loading.. immediately appears)
E: Cannot load volumen /misc!
In both cases (after wiping the cache and dalvik) I press the reboot option and my KF starts normally with the yellow triangle
but when I try to install the stock firmware it appears like this:
Install /sdcard/update.zip
E:Cannot load volumen /misc!
Finding update package…
Opening update package…
Installing update… (in this case the loading bars appears and takes about 1 minute or 2, then i got the next line)
E: Cannot load volumen /misc!
and reboots without the yellow triangle... erasing the twrp and unrooting my KF
No. I didn't hit anything after the install. It does it by itself everytime. Yes, I am using TWRP. And, this happens with every ROM...

Oh and I already did. Sorry I couldn't reply until now..
EDIT: Misread thread, sorry bout that. Nevertheless you should have known that can't load volume/misc has absolutely nothing to do with your problem.

I found a way that worked for me:
- reinstall the Twrp with adb
-copy to the sdcard the custom rom
-make a backup
-factory reset, wipe dalvik cache and cache
-go to install option and select the custom rom install it
-wipe dalvik-cache and reboot
Note: I downloaded everything again (the Twrp, the custom rom) maybe that was part of the problem...
That worked for me... Hope it works for you as well
Hi,
I tried out ubuntu touch and wanted to revert to stock before flashing cm (because I havn't had a rom on my storage).
After flashing the stock image via fastboot (using that flash-all.sh included in official download) my nexus stucks at boot animation.
Then I flashed recovery (I tried both, CWM and TWRP) and tried to do a factory reset -> unable to mount internal storage, also the space of my internal storage was 0MB (obviously because it can't mount anything), so it exited with an error. Then I formatted just every partion in CWM and I was able to mount again, flashed stock image ... stuck at boot animation. Tried flashing cm via sideload... stuck at boot animation.
Google didn't helped me.
Does somebody know what to do now?
Thanks
Bagbag
After you flash the stock image boot into the stock recovery and do a factory reset. Should solve your problem

you should only have to clear the cache...factory reset shouldn't be necessary. Remember if you do have to do a factory reset, it will wipe all your storage completely if you use stock recovery to do it. Don't forget to back everything up first!

Does not work, it just stays at the screen with dat red triangle. Also vol up + power at same and other things I found in google don't work.
I already made backups, but anyway, they wouldn't help me in any way, if I don't have a working phone..

Boot into fastboot mode. Then from your pc with your device hooked up via usb type fastboot boot recovery. See if that will get you into recovery
Sent from my Nexus 5
It says 'cannot load 'recovery'' and also, I tried flashing ubuntu touch again and it worked.
Edit:
I think it has something to do with my /data partition. It said unable to mount /data again. After fixing that (for some reason it works if I select "format /data and /data/media (/sdcard)" (CWM) I can also format /data. But there a difference between that an all other partitions: for every other partition its like that: mount -> format -> unmount, but for /data it just don't do the last step, it stays mounted.
No on an idea? Do I need to send it in?
Try downloading The Root Toolkit Here.
Connect your phone, open the toolkit. On The First Page select "Soft-Bricked/Bootloop" and Flash Stock+Unroot.
This should Help.
Yeeeeeeey, I have no idea what the tool did, but it works now
Thank you for the tip

I would advice not just you but everyone out there, Please do some research, read blogs, forums or nothing goes in mind, just speak out here in Q&A.
Luckily we have SRK Tool, but what if we hadn't?

Hi, i flashed my phone with custom rom and my phone keep restarting everytime i started it. And i cant use recovery (twrp) because it restarts in recovery mode too, it can go only in download mode.. please tell me its not hard brick that cant be fixed in software. Thanks
Well if it only restarts in download mode the only thing you can do is to return to stock. Download the latest firmware of your device variant and flash it via Odin. I suggest you to flash a lollipop one and then update to Marshmallow if you want.

Yo!
First, calm down because its not hard brick You can fix it and its quite easy.
Follow these steps:
1) Download and install the proper DRIVERS for your phone (it should be done automatically when you connect the phone to the PC).
2) The phone should have at least 50% battery!
3) Download ODIN program. I'm using v3.09
4) Download the stock rom for J500FN from here: MEDIAFIRE <--- click . This is a firmware which i have uploaded in past, for faster download and is based on 5.1.1 lollipop.
If you want other firmware, then check on SAMMOBILE or other website.
You can use SamFirm to download firmwares faster: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/general/tool-samfirm-samsung-firmware-t2988647 (even if says deprecated, it works fine).
5) Extract ODIN archive and run it (.exe file).
6) Extract the stock rom .zip archive and you will get a xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.tar.md5 file (xxxxxxxxxx= name of the stock rom)
7) Restart the phone in DOWNLOAD MODE, by holding Power + Home + Volume down buttons same time.
A "Warning" window will apear, now press the "vol up" button to get "DOWNLOAD MODE" and conect the phone to the pc
If the ODIN see the phone, on the "ID:COM"line(midle-left) you will see "0:[COMx]"(x= port number)
8) On the ODIN press "AP" button, a window will apear, search in it the location of the xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.tar.md5, select it and open.
9) Now press "START" button and wait until ODIN finish.
When it finish, the phone will boot automatically and in ODIN will apear a big green PASS.
10) Phone is booting. Yayyy!

Now flash TWRP and go to recovery and wipe data, cache and dalvik cache. Then the bootloop should be gone.
If you still have a bootloop after doing this, then try to reflash the stock rom.

Then reflash stock rom and reboot. If you get bootloop, go to recovery ( STOCK recovery) and wipe data and cache, but keep in mind that when you are wiping data, it may wipe the whole internal memory, not just data. It happened to me on some newer firmware. And then reboot again.

My phone was initially stuck at the boot animation, so i decided to wipe cache and the "unable to mount efs" message appear. Now I have messed up my phone. It stays black screen after the Samsung galaxy S4 icon.
Can someone help me to solve the mounting and black screen problem?
Note: I have solved the problem by entering code in through terminal (TWRP go to advanced and then terminal), I typed the following:
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
reboot
Use Odin to flash the stock firmware.
If you don't know how, use a guide. There are several written guides and video guides.

Yes.
But if you have a custom recovery at this time, then you can try flashing another ROM - CM or something.
