So as some of you might've read already, the Note 5 'beta-test group' is receiving a new update, most likely the UX that will ship with the Note 7 that is bound to be released somewhere in August.
In my opinion it looks really clean and elegant while keeping that 'touchwiz' style. I'm hoping the UX will eventually (maybe with Android N) come to the S7 (edge)!
I'm curious whether this will also already work on our S7
If anyone is willing to try, please post your experiences and findings below! ^^

Pretty sure that most of Note II usesrs were waiting for the screen recording option that Samsung already announced ...
we were thinking that future software updates will add that option....
but that will not happen as Samsung already declared it on their official website in FAQ section that they will not add that option due to potential copyright concerns in some regions.
here is the article :
[FAQs] Smart Phone : My Galaxy Note II , GT-N7100 does not support the Screen Recording function?
Although Galaxy Note II,GT-N7100 was introduced at IFA event in 2012 with a Screen Recording function.
Samsung have decided not to include this feature in the final product due to potential copyright concerns in some regions.
As a result, Samsung does not, at this time, have a Software upgrade plan for the Screen Recording function.

Ye i figured they had killed this idea, in my view it has more to do with current versions of Android than anything else. Consider how many screen recording tools are on the play store and how many of them work properly with JB... err none!
If you want to record your screen get an MHL cable and a HDMI capture card only full proof way right now to do screen capture.
Anyone else want to way in with screen recorder conspiracy theories or am I on my own on this one
I don't think people are waiting for Samsung to do it. They're waiting for someone to jack the apk somehow and leak it in the Internet so they can flash it into their phones.

Some people have got the APK and have been looking for how to implement it, but there appears to be a host of libs and framework files required that we simply do not have.
Without those additional files we cannot use it.
The best alternative is to use Screencast, but root is required.

Soooo..... Are they going to remove the screenshot feature as well? Maybe disable the microphone? Axe the camera too... prevent any files from being download to the device?
I think Sammy just fed us a steaming spoonful of BS.

Torrents can still be downloaded to a device, much easier and better quality. You can also use the video camera feature if you're separate, but really, who uses recoding for pirating video? They can disable audio and problem solved. Our reduce it to 15fps... or a dozen other things, but they should remove or completely.
I need screen casting to help debug apps, not to pirate videos. Lots of people have legitimate uses.

I was under the impression the galaxy s5 was going to come with it preinstalled. It was the only bloatware I was actually looking forward too and when I looked at my Galaxy s5 there was nothing to be found! Does anyone have it yet?

Its a piece of software that helps you Speed Read. It was supposed to make its official debut on the Galaxy S5.
I was just wondering the same thing - it occurred to me that Spritz was supposed to debut with this phone but I've seen no mention since March.

I posted a thread in the general s5 QA section. I'm an At&t user and no Spritz there either, also not on the watch.
Very disappointed as well. Spritz / Samsung should at least offer some explanation. This was one of the main selling points of the phone for me
Just emailed their support team
I just emailed spritzinc support team and I'll let you know what I find. Seriously between this and not being able to root i'm about to hand this phone back to verizon.
Is it called "Brain Apps" on Spritz ?

One month later got this response from spritz "Benew0,
We're pleased to announce our new email reader for the G5 - to give it a try, go out to the Samsung App Store and search for 'SpritzMail'. Have fun with it and let us know if you have any issues - [email protected]
Thanks!

'Tis the season for Plasma!
After weeks of development, I will soon be needing some beta testers for the Note 4 version of Plasma kernel. Sprint TW variants only right now. PM me if you are interested, and when I have something ready I will contact you.
This version of Plasma kernel is entirely new and based on Note 4 sources, with many ported features completely rewritten from the ground up. As such, right now it still lacks some features from the existing (Note 2) Plasma kernel.
Oh oh Santa aka ffolkes has come with an amazing gift it's so awesome your building ur kernel for note4 thanks so much

Looks like I greatly underestimated how many bugs and features I had left to work on. So, here we are, like 2 months later...
Here is a beta version of Plasma kernel for the Sprint Note 4 (SM-N910P) ONLY. I have only tried it on TouchWiz version NIE, but it should work for NK2 as well.
Instructions:
Nandroid at least your boot and system partition.
Flash this: http://www.plasmakernel.com/downloads/trltespr/plasmakernel_v0-10_trltespr_kk_tw.zip
Clear cache/dalvik if you want, you probably don't have to.
Boot. Rarely it may immediately reboot once after the Samsung logo. I do not yet know why this happens.
For now you must manually disable Samsung's DVFS via Xposed (Wanam, etc) or similar. Don't reboot yet. In the future there will be support for hardlimit.
Download Synapse from the Play store.
Go to the "Utilities" tab and disable mpdecision and thermal-engine.
Now reboot.
Anybody testing???

Yes. The link was above, but my server is down at the moment due to sudden hard drive failure. I will be posting a new beta in a day or so. It is more stable.
I have put SO much work into this kernel, I hope people like it. The changelog (still unposted) is huge - It contains entirely new features from my wacky mind, as well as total rewrites of features from the Note2. I have gone to lengths to try to make it modular so I can maintain new features for the Note2 and Note4, and hopefully a tablet if I can ever afford one.

Hey do you think you can port this to sprints note edge pleased =)
After much server downtime, and a domain registrar transfer, things are stable again.
Plasma kernel is almost ready for a release in the Development subforum. There are so many features, it is daunting to document them.

Is it possible to begin a LP build since source is out already
Im just about to take the plunge and root my phone, i dont need Samsung pay and i have insurance through my carrier so if something goes wrong they cover almost anything.
Im just wondering whether (through package removal) there is a way to basically turn this phone into a google play edition phone running stock android, im fairly new to the android ecosystem so a lot of this is new to me, but i hate bloatware (and having 3 preinstalled apps doing the same thing ) so i want to know if you can rectify this?
Thanks for your time

Hello everyone I got my hands on note fe and out of the box it's 7.0 it very smooth ans well going later I have received an oreo update I downloaded it but haven't install it yet I usually cautious about updates especially for a device not well known or not very popular my question is would you guys recommend updating? Model number
SM-N935F/DS thanks alot
Battery life is alot better with Nougat. Oreo builds have a bad problem with "cell standby" battery drain. So if you don't mind Nougat I would stay with that.
