I've been running TruPure for months now, and am looking to try something new. I flashed official CM13, but getting mobile data to work for me has not been possible (I'm on Sprint). So, I'm just looking to see if anyone has found a solid daily driver they would recommend. I guess I'm not looking for TON of customization, but some is ok. I'd rather have a little more in the performance side than super battery friendly, but I'd take both.

Is anyone using Custom Roms & Kernels yet?
The feeling of the stock ROM seems good enough for me at the moment.
(I'm guessing once i Root my replacement unit, I can uninstall the crapware to improve the performance more)
So, If anyone is using Custom ROM'S do you notice much difference between it and stock?

I'm using the KRAKD ROM and I'm glad I unlocked /rooted now just so I won't lose data later.

I'm waiting for more people together get their devices. Development is still slow since it's new and offers few improvements.
I'll probably wait a month or so.

I also pretty much have the same question as above, are any ROMS really stable at the moment?
Amazingly (after my horrid experience with the Asus transformer stock..) stock on this tab feels great.
I did root it though, just no crazy flashing yet.
Is cm10 stable and working?

Yup. It looks like stock rom is good and stable. I'll root later
I have had my Nexus since launch and finally rooted and unlocked it. As far as roms, I am on the newest build of Glazed Jellybean, which is great so far. I am just wondering if anyone else can suggest a great, stable rom for me?

There is no such thing as "best". What is best for someone might be crap for others. It is a matter of personal opinion. The proper way is reasd the reviews and try it yourself. As as side note, I use the stock rom on both phone and tablet.
I would recommend Paranoid Android. Its smooth, stable, and it allows you to choose between phone, phablet, and tablet mode for every app.

I like custom roms, but i like battery life even better.
Im now on Omega v3.1 from indie. But i dont know if Custom Roms are better, worse or actually the same in battery life?
I always flash a rom, check it out for about a day, and if im dissapointed i flash another. But last week i heard a thing that if you let the Rom settle for a week or so, the battery life gets better and better?
Can someone help me out a bit Thanks!!!:cyclops:

never really cared for "settleing" the phone but i have noticed if you keep using the rom/kernel combo for a while battery does get better..however most ppl here dont use roms for long so from my experience the first 2 to 3 full cycles are enough to see how the rom is performing

not necessarily.. i have seen ppl get better battery life on stock kernels and also so seen ppl get other get better battery on custom kernels so "better" is always subjective cuz no 2 phones are alike, so everyone will get different results

i wouldnt recommend trying tmo kernels on the n9005.. Imoseyon was actually gonna keep both tmo adn n9005 same but then i think he found some difference in the soruce thats why he made a different version for the n9005 and a different version for the n900t
I stick with stock. Does it helps if i use the samsung feature powersaving?

Also don't forget to wipe your battery cache. I've been using the Battery Calibration application from the market to do that. Just follow the instructions from within the app. Requires root.

Most popular seem to be FireNote and dynamic kk. FireNote seems to be a bit more stable with great speed and battery life. I have been averaging about 1 day 8 hrs with 6-7 hrs of screen on time. Dynamic brings the latest and greatest kit kat as well as some customization. It has some bugs but the developer has been great about updating and fixing bugs very quickly!
FireNote Powered!
I'm running fire note it's flawless

Firenote is my choice. Best speed stability and long battery life on stock look. My everyday rom in Stock slot.
Alliance is for those who loves to customize. Endless customization possibility and great rom as well. It's in my slot 1.
If you like KK rom, dynamic is the best one out right now but there are a bunch of other great devs are pushing new one that are great as well.
You just have to try it out and see which one suits you best.

I'm on the same boat. On knoxraid KitKat but I don't know if any other roms have inverted (black) app and setting backgrounds. Simply a must have with oled.

I've been using Dynamic Kat 1.3 after making the switch from Kn0xraid. So far I really like it. Might try out Fire Note as others are reporting good results.
Not quite the right thread for this request, but is there a mirror link still out there for the latest KnoxRaid add-ons?
Otherwise, I'm in the same boat. Itching to check out other ROMS. Anyone try the new S5 Experience ROM?
Looks promising.

I don't believe the Ron included gps fix but it works fine for most of the time. I would say I drive a lot using my phone as gps and 95% of the time works great. When I have error, I just turn off and on the GPS from quick setting and all works well again.

Thanks everyone for all the input. I think I'm going to give them all a try and see what I like the best. Main concern is battery life, speed and reliability.
I have tried the other KK roms and hate to say it but went back to Knoxraid.... Love the theme, and TW themes available in it too much.
Now to figure out how to build my own rom out of it and make it the way I want it.
I'm in the same boat as the OP and others here. But I went back to stock. Reason is because I got the new Gear 2 watch and saw many ROMs weren't working as well because they had features stripped from it such as Samsung Apps.
Any custom ROMs good with the Gear 2 watches?

They are all fantastic ROMs. Hard to pick a "best". I have been crack flashing last 2 months. I've probably spent the most time on Dirty Unicorns though. My deciding factor lately is whether visual VM works with my carrier, Verizon. There are 2 ROMs, where for me, VVM hasn't been working.

This thread is pretty much counter to what XDA is about. "Best Rom" threads are rarely productive and often causes strife. If you truly want someone else to do the leg work for you then ask specific questions about specific features you are looking for, etc. We all are going to have our own favorite, based on our own criteria. I don't wanna come off like Debbie downer but I know where this usually ends up...

I'd agree. That's why i originally stated they are ALL great ROMs. Very political here sometimes. That being said, I prefer AOSPEx merely because of a very specific feature.
I specifically purchased this device to feed my crack-flashing addiction and I couldn't be more pleased with the amount of dedication every ROM maintainer puts into these packages. If it wasn't for this community I'd be Linux Distro-ing that crap out of my desktop. Regardless, try em all. You'll find your own preferences and styles to suit your needs on your device.
Have fun and thank you to everyone who contributes to this community.
