do any one know which radio is stable and consume less energy?

I'll leave it to others to give advice on which radio to use. It might be worth installing danielherrero's (one of our own developers) bandswitch application http://www.commmgrpro.com/ You could use this to limit phone to certain bands only with an easy interface. Would allow you to check out exactly what is causing the drain on battery.

thanks for helps
Sorry, got me stumped. So with no radios on the consumption is double that when wifi is on!!
Let's see if anyone else has any suggestions.
Mike
infinite loop perhaps??
What ROM/Radio versions are you running? EDIT:: seen the ROMs, perhaps try updating to a newer dopod ROM??
Also what 3rd party apps have you got installed??
(RESCO was a ***** for doing this to my TyTN)
the exact same thing happens to me. i've charged it completely, it obviously got really hot. usually at this point, i would take out the battery and let it cool off before turning the phone on, otherwise it would get even hotter and eat 300+ mA and drain the battery fast. this time i opened the wi-fi connection and immediately the battery status dropped from 332 mA to 130, and stayed down there. the phone even cooled down a bit. after i've turned off the wi-fi, it started draining and heating again. what can i do? is it a software or hardware problem? i'm using schaps 4.31, 1.47.30.10, have google maps, palringo, opera, tcpmp installed
I have the same behavior, too.
But not yesterday evening. After restarted it for the xxx time it staid at 28mA. This was so until I left the train in the morning. It went up to 347mA and I am not able to get it back to 28.
I am using the default HTC ROM "HTC_TyTN_GER_3.54.257.2_103_6275_1.47.00.10_108".
I also tried several other ROMS (Schaps, Pays ...) and different radio versions as "HERM_Radinly_1.16.00.00_CustomRUU", "HERM_Radinly_1.47.00.00_CustomRUU", "HERM_Radinly_1.47.00.10_CustomRUU", "HERM_Radinly_1.47.30.10_CustomRUU" and "HERM_Radinly_1.54.30.10_CustomRUU"
but none of them helped me out.
I also done the Exchange Server trick, deactivated 3G and even deactivated all GPRS or EDGE possibilities from provider side.

Phone gets hot
Hi,
I am not an expert but I had the same problem with my phone, I solved the problem by moving some software I had on my storage card to the internal memory, (in my case it was the encryption and additional language support software I had)
Another way is to look for the Power management tweak in this forum which helps to manage your storage cards power draining,
Sound strange but it worked for me.
Good luck
Hi,
the new battery has arrived.
There is no change in battery draining
What I recognized is, that if the battery is "cold" the power consumtion is around 28mA. But after a call it is getting warm and uses 10 time so much of power.
Please don't laugh now:
I put the battery inside my freezer for 5 minutes. Put it back inside the mobile ...
... 28mA.
If I keep it cold it stays fine for 3 days.
There must be any solution on that.

Hi, I'm new in this forum, and I don't speack English well, so I want to excuse me!
I have the new Touch HD, at the beginning I changed immediately the original ROM with a new one, I installed a lot of programs, and everything woked very well for two weeks, but then I had a big problems with battery...a the first the battery was very good, -10/15% per day, but suddenly after two weeks the battery lose 1% of its charge every 2/5 mintes...if I disconnect the power when the battery is 100%, after one hour without use (and also without wifi, BT and GPS), I have 70% of charge!
I try to change the ROM, a friend suggested me a new upgrade for Radio, but I didn't resolve my problem!
Now I buy a new battery online in htcstore, but if I put my mobile in "Fly mode" the battery work very very good!
I want to say that here normally I have the signal indicator with 2/3 nicks, so the signal is good!
Someone can help me?...someone have my same problem?
Thank you so much fo everything!
Greetings, Eddy
the battery will be used up quickly if your fone is constantly searching in and out for a 3g signal, regardless of 2g signal strength
have you got wifi on?
bluetooth?
a gps app running?
what other apps do you have running in background? some really poll the cpu a lot and will lead to battery drain
other than a dodgy battery, it must be some software running that is using up the battery
Thank you for aswering!
In background normally I have SMS o Contacs, but also if I close every programs in background the battery doesn't work well!
No, Bluetooth is OFF, GPS and WI-FI are OFF, I use telephone just with gsm!
Also when I write message, normally I write a message so long (3/4 messages), after wirting, the battery lost 10%, and I didn't have this problems at the biginning!
I left my mobile on also during the night, and in the morning I had again 100% of charge...now 100% it's a far dream!
try turning off the autoadjust for the screen and setting it at a medium setting, also make sure the backlight turns off after a minute or less.
its a huge screen and will burn up power, although saying that i watched a full length film on my HD the other day and only used 20% in 1.5hrs
if no progs are running in the background and its not a display issue (how have you checked whats running btw? need more than just WM taskmanager, try mem maid or similar) and the problem is not there when in flight mode. then i can only assume its the rom you are using, try another with a different radio rom in it
i found roms with 1.10 radio to be better than 1.09. try this rom (mulitlanguage) works good for me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=465637
edit: have you got HDTweak installed? its good to configure the data to auto turnoff after 1 minute or so (even in gsm gprs could be running)
I tried to setup the new ROM but I didn't resolve the problem!
If I leave my mobile only with GSM on, without use it, without call and sms, the battery lost 2% in 30 minutes, and it's not normal!
If I use it, change settings, write message, the battery lose 5% in five minutes!
I don't know what I have to do...this mobilie now can't live without a power connection!
I want say also that at the beginning some application in my HTC wanted "HTCAPI.dll" because they didn't found into the mobile...so I found this dll online and I did copy/paste into the directory!
It can gave me problems with battery?....I don't know how it's possible, but I don't know!
Try to buy or borrow another HD battery and compare them. You should know the problem then.
Of course, I alredy bought it online, and I'm waiting to get the shipping!
But it's very strange that a battery stop to work suddenly, but I know that there are a lot of people who have my same problem!
If i were you, i would flash back the original rom and do a hard reset. Then, without installing anything on the device, see if the problem persists.
Thank you ardsar...I want to try....can you tell me, what I have to do to obtain the original product?...without hardspl and new rom?...like the first time that I turned on this HD! Thank you so much!
For example, I have your same SPL and ROM at the moment!
Hi Ardsar, I flashed my ROM and SPL (brand), and now my mobile is like the original but....do you know Teeter?...I played 2 minutes, I completed 3 levels, and from 85% the battery is now at 79%...
Hi guys...yesterday I did a lot ot tests, but without positive results, but I fund out new problems:
1)The bettery lose a lot of charge also if my Blackstone is offline, when I use it with TouchFLO, Teeter, SMS, Settings...everytime!
2)I have near to icon of signal, the simbol of GPRS, but sometimes it changes with the simbol H and with this new symbol, the signal falls and to resolve it, I have to wait a long ore reset the mobile.
Now I'm not sure that the "target" is the battery...I don't know, I changed also the Radio ROM with new last, but the problem is not over!
Before put it into garbage case, someone can suggest me something to try?
...I will never bring it to Assistence HTC, because I will have to wait some months, and I didn't pay 500€ to have it "under repairing"
Do you have SK Tools 4.4.6 or another battery monitor installed?
With SK Tools, you can see under the sys info the current battery use. My usage is in standby with lighted display -100mA. What's normal?
My battery is also very empty. Last evening i had 54%. This morning, the phone was off, no power any more.
No, now I will try this tool!
But I think that you also have problem with battery, becase the firsts days that I had my HD, I left my mobile on the whole night with 100% and in the morning I had 100%...I had 99% at lunch time! And a lot of friends that have this mobile have the battery so strong, like me at the beginning...so...I'm getting angry
i have this problem too. had my HD for 2 weeks coming to 3 now and my battery seems to deplect very fast, totally different when i had it. could be becoz of the wallpaper and 3rd party theme i had
For me, it seems it's a software or anything else that needs so much battery power, perhaps the hotfixes or something else.
Sadly, the whole battery monitor progs don't show the needed power per running process, only the current usage. Can anyone with a "good" battery life cann post his current usage? (For expample with SK Tools System Information/battery supply)
Is the backup battery always at 0%?
Battlog
How about this. You can log your activities and see how much battery current (discharge) each application is using by the ma figure. It produces a .log file but if you change it to .txt you can open it up in a text editor.
Hope it helps.
EDIT: Just found out there is better info on it here on XDA Raphael forum. Credits to PalladiumTD for this app.
Today I tried a new battery, and also with a good battery, I have the same problem...so I think that I have to send my mobile to HTC service and ask for a new one, because it can be an internal problem, maybe of motherboard, radio, or I don't know...but it's sure that is hardware problem!
Did you a hard reset and installed nothing else?
Yes, I did...I alredy unpacked it and monday I will send it to HTC service....I hope that they will sed me a new one....a friend said to me that maybe this problem for them is called DOA (dead on arrived) and in this case they have just to change it!I hope so!....but I don't like...!
I know that I can reset it pushing the volume control ecc.....someone knows it exactly?Thank you!
Hello all,
I own an international N9005.
Up until recently, I used the stock Samsung ROM with good battery life.
A couple of weeks ago, with no apparent reason, I started getting horrid battery life - in access of 10% drop -per hour- in idle (as opposed to 1-3%).
I removed more-or-less everything, disabled more-or-less everything but nothing seems to work.
Got root (there goes the warranty) tried looking for Wake-locks and nothing. The Note3 is 97% (!!!) awake even with everything disabled, and in the wake looks screen both user and kernel I only see 1-2 minutes (!).
Tried resetting the ROM, tried installing other custom ROMs (X-Note, Omega, etc). Nothing seems to work.
Currently I'm running Omera v20, with *zero* applications installed (including all the Google and Samsung applications beyond Google Playstore) and all external services (location, WIFI, et-al) disabled, my note 3 is still 95-99% awake, and the list of wake lockers is, errr, empty.
FWIW I'm ~100m from the nearest cell tower.
EDIT: According to battery meter, Android OS is keeping the phone up.
Any ideas?

Indexing your external SD maybe?
You could try the link in my sig and try again for your custom ROM.
First, thanks all for taking the time to answer.
I'm thinking about getting a new battery, but my gut feeling is that its not the source of amazing battery drain - ~20%/h while completely [!] idle (auto-sync/location/etc completely off).
I've attaching /d/wakeup_source in excel format sorted by count and total time - in-case someone has any idea what's completely broken.
As far as I can see, qpnp-vadc-ebd30a00, sec-battery-monitor, mmc0:0001:2 are the main culprits.
nicholaschum,
Before I attempt a complete wipe (as opposed to the normal wipe data / cache), how can I detect if someone is indexing my sdcard? (which may account for the mmc0:0001:2 in the wake lock dump).

I know this is a long shot but try turning off developer options if you have it turned on(especially force gpu rendering). Somehow I found out that when I turned it on and the screen is idle. I get a battery drain. Not as big as yours. But not really sure because if I use the phone, the battery is actually pretty great(an hour of screen time is about 10% even more with internet apps like facebook youtube chrome etc.).
Clear cache. I know this is too common but it actually works for a lot of people.
Lastly, try airplane mode overnight and see if it doesn't drain. It might be your network that is causing the drain.

Hi, basically just check your phone using BBS (BetterBatteryStats), and see which individual process is eating up your battery.

Already installed - together with WakeLockDetector.
Short update, out of pure desperation I completely wiped the phone (including sdcard), tried installing stock ROM and, err, Odin failed. Managed to get CWM running again and installed the latest CM nightly.
...
As weird as it sounds, going from NF4 based ROMs (including stock) to CM nightly dropped to idle battery usage to ~2-6%/h, a huge drop from ~20%/h.
I'll update and mark resolved if this situation holds (crosses fingers).

I heard there were problems with NF4 battery. But I haven't been on TW since ND4. No matter what on Note 3 TW the battery sucks. AOSP is great. But actually S5 port has the best battery.
Solved, at least for now.

I use Nova (and not TW)
Either way, latest nightly seems to solve the battery drain problem completely - using the same Nova and system configuration (widgets, active syncs, etc). Currently I'm at ~1.5-0.8%/h when idle with no issues going into deep sleep.
Seems that my specific model really dislikes NF4.
Thanks again for trying to help.
This thread has been quite helpful as I was suffering with a Battery Drain after the NF4 Upgrade.
Planning to go back to ND5, which was the last stable version.

I was thinking about doing the same, but in the CM 11 runs circles around both NF4 (duh!) and my previous ROM (not sure which revision it was) - plus I can actually get 2 days of standby time, even with the old batteries, so I'll stick with CM 11 for now.

I can relate.
Good luck, and post if you find a solution (in-case I decide to switch back to Samsung based).
By now, most of you know there is a problem with battery drainage on the Snapdragon version. I along with many other people have fixed this by doing the following steps:
1. Clear Cache
2. Factory Reset
3. Opt out of all background reporting to Google and Samsung. (Google Location is okay)
4. Don't update any of the pre-installed apps through the play store that your not going to use.
5. Turn off auto update in the pay store.
6. Disable any app you don't want in the application settings.
7. Set location settings to GPS only.
8. Set WiFi to sleep when the screen is off or stay awake only when charging.
9. Turn off WiFi and Bluetooth scanning.
Last but not least DO NOT use an SD card unless your phone doesn't have the ejection bug. Every time you see the SD notification your phone is scanning the SD card. This can use a lot of power in the background as it wakes up the phone and doesn't allow it to go into its deep sleep state.
Also make sure you set it up as a new device instead of copying information from an old phone.
(Some are also reporting an improvement by just turning off Google and Samsung background reporting without even doing a factory reset.)
(Also DO NOT disable any packages using a package disabler app) Just disable apps you don't want through the application settings. I along with many others have reported worse battery life after disabling some of the packages.
For those of you (1 of you) saying this is pure snake oil, the following screenshots make for some compelling proof that it is not.
The first set of screenshots are of my battery performance before taking these steps and then some screenshots after taking these steps.
I've also disabled scanning for nearby devices, since my environment doesn't have any I can or want to connect to 98% of the time (and it can/will wake the WiFi w/o charging battery use to WiFi IIRC).
SM-G935A (US AT&T):
Settings > Connections > More connection Settings > Nearby device scanning > Off
I followed these steps this morning. I got excited when I saw in GSam that it was held awake for 0 seconds but since then it's still showing me held awake. Perhaps something I'm installing, I do notice screenwise is much higher for battery drain now. I drained a lot installing a ton of new apps so I can't go by anything yet but it seems the battery is more steadily depleting and losing less while idle. I'm interested in seeing how it performs after I go through this first cycle. Here's some screens
after reset SOT 1:47 58% left
before SOT 5:33 2% left
see how it seems to be more steady now, maybe I'm imagining it.
This post is snake oil.

I wonder the true reason. I tried those steps before and that does not do the trick for me. Also, Bluetooth will sometimes just decide to eat 5% of the battery for no reason. However, the phone I get for my girlfriend (gold color, I got silver), without any adjustment out of the box can just get great battery life. Like without turn off anything. GPS is high accuracy, everything you mentioned in the post she has it on the regular setting, wifi on all the time, scanning device. The battery just keep doing great for her but terrible for me. I'm so confused regarding to this issue. Then I also tried package disabler on her phone, and it's still doing great.

Clearing the cache may do nothing at all. I am just sharing the steps I took to improve my battery life. You're right though. Clearing the cache most likely is not what fixed it.
The other things I have listed though (especially opting out of the Google background reporting) has improved mine and others battery life immensely. Many people have reported much better battery life after disabling the background reporting.
Like I said, I'm just listing what I did to improve my battery from draining 18% overnight in standby to only losing 2% overnight in standby.

Nope....We are in the Edge forums. If you haven't seen. Many are having battery problems with the Snapdragon version of the Edge. There are many threads you can check out here.
Now I am getting great battery life but I had to put up with terrible battery life for nearly 5 days.
I have att edge and my battery life has been super impressive I didn't do much either just disabled couple apps screen 40% auto bright wifi BT always on location when I need I been averaging 7 1/2 hour sot, kinda reminds me when I me and my wife had g2 I had amazing battery life and my wife's phone sucked ass, I feel like some phones are duds
Anyway to turn of the background reporting without doing a factory reset?

Looks like you have the WiFi bug. I had it as well when I disabled a bunch of packages. Have you disabled any packages?
Also, you could try changing the way your WiFi sleeps. Try changing it to only staying on when charging.
There is no way your WiFi should be using that much power.

hi MI A1 owners.
for those brave enough to use the latest vanilla, official OTA rom, what change did you notice?
does the battery still suffer huge drain that appeared in 2018 roms?
it's a big "NOPE" for me to update, i'm still on official DEC rom because of this drain issue.
Battery life is good on 8.1 no issue for me getting 5-6 hours SOT on gaming.
Never had battery drain problems. Only "issue" is notification led not blinking.
Just noticed that led light is no longer blinking when notifications arrive. Light stays on only when screen is off. Also Bluetooth is constantly disconnecting.
Ambient display isn't working for me.
Led notifier is also not blinking anymore!
Led not blinking, proximity sensor doesn't work properly all the time, some scrolling lag. That's what I've got so far
dudes thanks for your answers.
i'm just more convinced to not doing the update.
maybe the drain i had was magisk-related. (?)
Nothing for me, even got ten hours of screen after some cycles. Led doesn't bother me and it's the only thing i noticed.
Yes, the LED is always on, which is annoying, but the bigger issue is there is no change in the battery drain. I charged to 100%, set the phone down and did not move it or use it overnight. 8 hours later almost 14% of battery was drained. I have tried everything I can think of to try, including turning off high accuracy location, not allowing any location things like safe area, etc. and still I get this drain even when the phone is not in use. Android kernel and system consumed 85% of that usage, and System UI, Play Store and Phone Services accounted for 7%! SO basically, basic Android paired with the A1 hardware seems to be the issue and I don't know that there is any fix for that.
At one point, I thought an upgrade to the A2 was going to be a no brainer, but with the issues with updates being broken and this battery drain issue that nobody seems to be able to pinpoint and resolve, I am thinking I may not buy ANY other Xiaomi. It may be time to try something else because the only way I can get two days of battery is to turn on airplane mode when the phone is not in use!

Dunno what to say man. Mine is below.
2-3% at most over night.
And now it would appear that there is an issue with airplane mode.
I put the phone into Airplane mode at 2300 last night with 90% battery and did not pay attention to it. This morning I turned to phone on to find there was only 69% battery left, and WiFi was working. (see screen shot) WTF???? I have started using airplane mode to keep the battery drain to a minimum when the phone is not in use, and now it would appear that this doesn't work either.
I am REALLY getting frustrated with Android and Xiaomi as it seems that every time they do an update, something else goes bump! I have gone from totally happy with the AI when I first got it to being ready to write off Xiaomi as a company I would consider for purchase.

Play services also cause these type of sudden battery losses.
Try downloading latest play services apk from apkmirror . Latest one is
"com.google.android.gms_12.8.74_(090408-204998136)-12874034_minAPI26(arm64-v8a,armeabi-v7a)(480dpi)_apkmirror.com.apk"
Uninstall your current one. Install this .
Power off your phone for a few seconds and reboot.

Thanks for the thoughts, but unless I totally misunderstand what airplane mode is, WiFi should not be active when airplane mode is invoked. You can see by the screen cap that airplane mode is on AND WiFi is active. This seems to be a one off as it has not happened again for the last two days. I turn airplane mode on to stop the overnight battery drain while the phone is doing nothing. I have location set to GPS Only. IIRC play services was just updated 3 days or so ago, so it should have the latest version. I will check it and see though. Again, thanks for the thoughts.

I can't logically understand why you would think it is the hardware causing the issue. If it was hardware, what you are seeing would be happening to every owner of the phone and clearly that is not happening. By saying it is the hardware when you have other software loaded is akin to saying your car's air conditioning doesn't work properly when you have all the windows wound down.
There is something loaded on your phone that is causing the systemUI to be working when you think nothing should be happening. The first thing I see on the screenshot on your phone is that in the top left of the screen you have two non standard icons. That tells me that you have a skin or non standard software constantly running.
The way to solve any issue like this is to go back to basics. I would get the fresh rom and do a Miflash whilst keeping your data. Make sure you do a backup first.
If that does not work, back up your data and do a clean install and check the phone's battery life. Do not load any non google software / app at this stage.
Then each day add one app and test for 24 hours. You will find this issue and the offending app or apps and I would be willing to bet you a few Singhas it will be an app you downloaded not the hardware causing this.

Actually, I think it is a combination of hardware/software, but that is just a WAG. Others have noted the exact same issue without running the same software. My bet would be on the RCS services stuff.

Those icons are my Email client and GSAM Battery Monitor (presently 0.1% and 0.8%) and are the only two constantly running programs other than the stock apps and Sophos (0.3%). Neither use much battery compared to the Android stuff. Presently Kernel is 41.6%, RCS/Phone is 30.3%. SystemUI is 3.3%, Play Services is 2.0% and Phone Services is 1.8%

Good advice. I will do this when I have a few days to play with it. In the interim, it's airplane mode every night. Thanks for the reply. If it turns out to be one of these apps, let me know where to send the Singhas.
Good luck with it. I hope you find the solution. It can be frustrating, but getting to the bottom of it will be worthwhile. I haven't used Sophos for a long time and even then it was for PC. I am not up with how Sophos AV is integrating into Android but that would be my first guess.
I have only had one issue with this phone after updating and it was that the OS was constantly asking for a password on unlock after using fingerprint not just on startup. A clean install solved it and I have been trouble free since with every update. With over 50 PCs in my office, I could only wish that I had so few issues with Windows updates as I do with Android.
For me, night light auto schedule not working properly.
I can't tether via wifi/bluetoth/usb
Made another post with the problem.

Just for grins and giggles, I uninstalled my email client, GSAM, and Sophos, the only programs that run constantly other than system and Line. I then turned my phone off and back on, forced stopped Line, charged it to 100% and set it down with the screen off. It did not move of get used for 8 hours, yet it still used 12% of the battery. (see screenshots) This is better than the 20% with those apps installed, but still not close to what I would consider normal. When I first got the phone, it easily lasted 2-3 days between charges, with 6-7 hours SoT. Overnight would use MAYBE 2% of the battery. Now if I want it to last 2 days I need to turn on airplane mode overnight and then I can make it through a day.
So I guess the next step is to do as you recommended and load up the fresh rom when I have time to mess with it. At least I am now pretty sure that those apps aren't the culprits causing the biggest part of the battery drain. I hate to do it, but I am seriously thinking of a factory reset and seeing if that clears the issue. Would that put me back to Nougat?

How do you disable this apk? I seriously think this is the major culprit in the battery drain.

So those apps were causing 40% of of the 20% of the battery drain. That is a good start. I am confident there are software issues with your phone. I see you have some GPS app on your home screen, if that was running askew, it might be constantly pinging. That is just a guess.
In things like this, work methodically through it. But of cause a hard reset would be the best way to go. I see no reason why you wouldn't stay on your current version after a hard reset.
If you want to go make to version 7 you would need to use the MiFlash program and a downloaded standard fastboot rom. You may need to do something else to the phone to go back to 7, but I would not think so.
