Hello All,
I have a 45 day aged brand new 6P which suddenly shut down. Thinking of low battery i charged it for 15 mins then starts trying to restart, but it's not at all responding. so there after i follwed a few steps like pressing Home button and Volume(down down) and tried several times but nothing is happening.
I bought it from India and currently i m in Netherlands , my seller denied global warranty.
So i am in a big problem and no helps coming from neither seller neither manufacturer.
As a last hope i am posting in your group, if you can help me.
Thanks,
Anshuman

So what is the color? No seriously im interested, cause i never heard about "special ediition" and i think you just got scammed. Is it gold? That explains it then, just realised some folks called it special edition, my bad. Tho its same phone as any other 6p
I've heard similar situations... Try pressing the power button for ~10 minutes. Hope it'll help :/
yeah , tried several times... phone not responding anything ....
Issue is still there , i tried to charge it whole night then again tried but no results. It remained dead, not a single vibration.
Can someone guide me to get a global warranty.
Will it boot to recovery or bootloader?
Yes i tried but no result, phone is not responding at all.
From where did you bought it exactly?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA Labs
I bought it from India, an online store called www.flipkart.com
Just an FYI for all those who are wondering what the 'special edition' is all about. It's just another name given to the Gold variant of Nexus 6P in India.
yes u r right , its Gold one
I heard a very strange thing that indian phone charger might face issues with European electricity frequency ?
How much correct is it ??
My phone says
INPUT;100-240V~50/60Hz,0.5A
OUTPUT:5A---3A
it it a reason my phone not charging as the charger is not able to work ?
Any Idea Guys.
I had this same issue 2 days ago. Phone died and wouldn't cut on. Charged it and everything. Did some googling and found a solution. Use the USB cable that came with the phone and plug it into the phone and boot your computer or laptop to the BIOS and let it charge. In about 5-10 mins you should see the battery icon pop up. Once you do turn the phone on and let it charge through the PC, or a car charger. I used a car charger cause it was faster. Idk if this is an issue with the charger or the phone but this worked for me. Hopefully this helps.
:good:
Sounds more like the Special Edition is the one that doesnt work , stick with the normal version

Do you get the RED LED showing when you plug in?
Mike
Battery could be SHOT.
no there is not the usual red light

The device should show the red LED when not charging or the battery is not inserted, unless:
1
The charger is blown
2
A component is blown on the device.
As you have tried two chargers I suggest it is a device component and therefore a repair job. As a last thing to try you could try the hard reset key and stylus combination.
Mike
I really dont where i can repair my device ;p
Can people from holland suggest me a repear place in the north?
thnx all in advanced, i will wait one more night
Well after a month of waiting i finally got a new phone!
There was a blown component and the repair compagny of my provider ask me to pay 230 euro's because it was a 'level 3' repair.
But my mobile provider didnt agree with the repair price so finally i didnt had to pay after all!
Windows Mobile 5 is on it So i'm going to flash!
Thnx to all,

My Opinion
been running through threads all over, just found out that there is no solution, because when a program pushes the unit to wake up from standby it freezes, this program can be weather, alarm, mail, active sync, and even a CALL can cause this, so it's a permanent bug in wm6 and PPC :-(
I think my Touch HD is Dead I am not sure about it too because i can't seem to power it on ... So anyone with some idea before i call the HTC
Open the back cover and press the little red reset button.
Hopefully that works. Mine sometimes will do that, and reset fixes it.
Thanks for the replay mate I tried it still its not powering on
Perhaps the battery has died, tried plugging the power cable in?
Actualy, i have my new HD dead after two weeks working. Two days ago my battery didn´t charge and orange led stops after a few seconds of plugg charger. Seller has sended today a new battery to try it. No success. Friday i´ll receive a new device to change them. It seems problem is due to internal charging circuit. I´ve had "good lucky" because my HD has crashed before 15 days. One day more and i must to call HTC services and wait for 1 month at least. In Spain HTC service is very slow..
Good lucky!

of course as a citizen of an EU member country, your sale contract is with the supplier and not HTC so go see them and get a replacement
might have to do some research first so you get your argument together
read this page: http://europa.eu/scadplus/leg/en/lvb/l32022.htm
especially:
"Consumer goods must be in conformity with the contract of sale.
*snipped*
The seller is liable to the consumer for any lack of conformity which exists when the goods are delivered to the consumer and which becomes apparent within a period of two years unless, at the moment of conclusion of the contract of sale, the consumer knew or could not reasonably be unaware of the lack of conformity."
In my case, the difference into 15 days and 16 days is that i can get a new device quickly before 15 days running or i must to contact after 15 days with HTC service (with RMA protocol, etc) and send my device to repair/change. I know i have two years of guaranty but when i say "good lucky" is due to fast time of solution of my problem. 3 days is not 1 month..
So, it´s better work hard with our new devices as soon as u have them in your hands. If they must crash, better be soon..

My Touch HD is dead too
I have been struggling with my HTC Touch HD which I got less than a year ago. It suddenly shut down. I tried to recharge the battery, master reset, and everything you can think of. And nothing can keep it on for couple minutes.
I suspect it is the battery. I have order a new battery. Hope it will work. If it is the charging circuit, I will have no hope but get a new phone.
Can anyone verify HTC Touch HD has a charging circuit problem? BTW, my bluetooth and radio went out several months before, and now the whole thing goes out.

How did you fix your Bluetooth?
Mine is having a problem now. It doesn't activate when I put it to "ON". However, when I restart my phone, the bluetooth icon at the top of the screen is on indicating that bluetooth is active. However, when I try to disactivate it from Communication Manager, it shows that bluetooth is actually off. Any idea what's wrong with it?
My phone now doesn't boot up. When I switch it on, it just vibrate as if the phone is switching on but there's nothing on the display. The battery is fully charged. Previously, when I switch it on it says "Microp Mismatch 0. Please update your Microp's firmware". I manage to get into bootloader and flashed ROM with XANNYTech's Leo 2.5 and used it for about a day before it died. Anyone help please?
First than nothing, sorry for my bad english.
My N4 got bricked, the problem seems to be the battery because when plug in to the AC charger the LED blinks red and nothing else happens, other members have the same problem.

So after try everything my nexus 4 seems to be dead, I decide to RMA but I don't know some details, and maybe you can help me
First, what I think I have to do:
I live out of USA, so I shipped my N4 to my cousin, he was who bought the N4, when he get my N4 then he will do the steps that Google tell him.
My doubt is:
1 - My bootloader is unlocked when my N4 start with the issue, perhaps Google can not turn on the device and be aware of it because the phone is fried, so if they can not detect that the bootloader is unlocked my RMA is free? (Assuming you have the bootloader unlocked means forfeiting RMA)
2- If they detect that my bootloader is unlocked, they will ignore this? Google will send me a replacement device? Although i going to be charged again (Assuming that Google is left with the charge of money they make to your account which remain in hold)
3- The replacement device is now yours? Or is just four use while Google check the original device?
4- How long take the whole process ?
So, this is all my questions by the moment, thank you and sorry for bad english, I used a little bit of Google Traductor.

1.you have to call google for an rma
2.in my case, the send me a new one, including an envelope and the freightpapers for the old one
3. they authorize 349 euro on your credit card, but they just authorize it,they dont take it
4.if you receive the new device, you have to send the old device back to them within 21 days, otherwise they will take the 349 euros from your credit card
5. pray that they cant turn it on and you are good to go and you dont have to pay for it
6. in betwen 14 days you can keep the new device, dont know how they handle it over 14 days sorry
hope i could clearify some things lol
I live in Germany, had similar problems and doing the rma rightnow, too.
The replacement nexus 4 that you will get is yours. Until they checked your first nexus 4, they block the money for your replacement.
If your warranty isn't valid or the defect isn't covered by the warranty they will charge you for the replacement device.
Let's hope they cannot turn our devices on to check for an open bootloader

Dont take a chance ! If you didn't send your device yet...
plug it into PC while holding ( VOL - )! JUST VOLUME DOWN ! no POWER KEY !
and when in fastboot mode, do :
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Dont take any chances ! ... They are super genuis ! I guess they can do anything to check the LOCK status !

Well bro, my phone its on the way to USA, but when my cousin get it, I'll tell that and lets see what happends...
I had no issues on 1836. I was on it all late last night. It was until I opened that benchmark app that went haywire.
Mentioned this in the other thread as well, but any idea what bin your CPU is?
Hey guys im in the same boat currently doing RMA. I have no red LED phone wont charge or turn on so hoping that Google cant either and Warranty holds.
No idea what bin I am im afraid. I have a hunch its fast or faster as I couldn't run matr1x v4.0 kernel and other people who also couldnt were fast bin (think it was due to the voltage tables).
RED LED fixed
hey guys, i've read a lot of threads about this red led issue and having the only solution was to RMA it.
just remebered the time when i had a RED LED after replacing my framework.apk that i have found in one the forums, after replacing the framework.apk, my phone cant respond to anything (screen touches and even power and volume button was not working) and after a minute my phone turned off. and i cant get it to turn on so i was panicking a bit knowing that i cant RMA my phone cause i only had my phone from my mother in UK and i'm in philippines so i plug my phone on the wall then the LED flashes RED ......
to make the long story short i tried everything to revive my phone and wugfresh's toolkit saved it, after a couple things the toolkit manages to flash the stock rom on my phone i was relieved.
that was just my experience, hope it help you guys

Sent my device in for RMA over a week ago. Bootloader was unlocked and custom rom loaded. Same red light problem everyone else is having. Also ordered my replacement device which is still on back order.Charges have now cleared my credit card so no worries just in case anyone is worried they will not honor the warranty because you have unlocked and rooted the phone .Called google to find out where my replacement device is yesterday and they said that even the rma devices are on back order for 1 to 2 more weeks which really sucks!
So basically everyone here crashed their car ,it was their own fault, car not had an insurance and you expect to get a new one pretending it was manufacturing fault ?

You make too many assumptions, friend.
1. Not everyone browsing this topic has crashed their phone. I popped in while searching for Wug and toolkit, for instance.
2. It's their own fault: you know what "everyone here" did? Their phone use, their setup?
2a. It may not be manufacturing issue as much as a design flaw. Microsoft's Xbox "circle of death" comes to mind; this could be LG's version of that.
The Nexus line is known as the dev's phones, and devs push limits; that's inherent to development. Even experienced devs like Faux have had red LEDs.
The inability to yank the battery as a hard reset has always troubled me in this kind of environment. I hope Google's next phone corrects this

[Update: after sometime connected to the computer the battery charging icon appeared and it booted]
Update on my RMA process. I noticed today that I have a new pending $299 authorization on my card and I am trying to find out why. The original $299 authorization that was placed on my card when I first started the RMA has now cleared because I had already sent the defective device back for repair and a few days later the pending charge went away. Now I am wondering why in the hell they placed a new $299 charge again even though my replacement device has not even shipped! Google has really dropped the ball on this whole nexus 4 situation!
If you take it apart and actually take the battery out, as a proper hardware reset, will that work? Anyone tried this?

Hi,
Not sure what is happening to my phone. I have had stock 4.2.2 rooted with CF auto root for months and had no problems. A few weeks ago my phone started to randomly shut down, not properly just complete power off in an instant. It would then start to reboot and get to the Samsung S4 logo screen before powering off again and trying to reboot and then gets stuck in a constant loop. At first I was able to just reinstall CF root with Odin and it would start up OK. I could also get it to start by re-installing Philz recovery.
Now though, that doesn't work so this morning I installed JB 4.3 I9505XXUEMK8-PRE-ROOTED-KNOX-FREE-ODEX-FULL.tar.MD5 and it says that it is rooted and everything seems to be OK but after an hour or so it has started to randomly shut down again. If I attempt to go into recovery (stock) and clear the cache partition it will reboot normally and run for a while until I use an app and do it again. Am I doing something wrong here or is my phone just knackered?

Maybe is coz the RAM is overloaded. Take a look in:
- Press HOME button for 2 secs
- U will see 3 icons in the bottom. Click on the "cheese"
- Tab "RAM"
- If ur phone use more of 1 GB of RAM for run ur apps maybe will be time of delete bloatware
I had the same problem in GT-I9500, I had to get it repaired in a service center.
There was a problem with mother board to charger port connection..
Hope it helps you!

If u wanna try to recover some RAM u can delete some bloatware that u dont use. Tc with what u delete. I let u some info about if u wanna try -> HERE
I have this problem, I swear it is because of the dodgy battery. (I have the BD battery)
When I plug it in to charge all works again properly.
Last night my battery was showing in the high 60's the phone went off. When I put charger in the battery was at 3%!
Very annoying, going to take to Geek Squad tonight and see if they wil lreplace battery. Guy here at work has same phone, different battery derial number and no problems at all.
Hopefully they will change the battery, I don't have any paperwork with me but the phone is obviously within the 1 year warrenty.

Interesting. I have noticed a couple of times when I look at the battery stats that it has drained from say 90% to 3% in less than 1min, just a verticle line. When I plug it in to charge it says that it's at 90% or whatever it was. Other times it needs charging and is almost dead. It's as though it has shorted out. I wonder if that is the problem here.

Same Issue
I have the same problem with my I9505
- It shuts down randomly (sometimes you see a few seconds in advance that your connection to the mobile antennas disconnects), when you look at it, in the middle of a phonecall, ... whenever it's nog plugged in to the power of external battery
- It's almost impossible to get it powered on again (gets stuck in a loop of rebooting: most times at the Samsung logo or after it's on for a few seconds), unless you connect your charger that is connected to the powergrid or external battery
- sometimes it resets the phonelanguage to default (so in stead of for example Dutch, everything is in English again)
I just cleared the cache and removed some programs...
Fingers crossed

I've tried that as well. Didn't work. The problem you describe is exactly the problem I have. I have ordered another battery but I don't think it's that. I'll let you know if it is. I hadn't noticed that it always boots OK if it is plugged into the mains. Wish I knew what was causing the problems.
Random Shutdown and boot loop
So I think I am finally getting somewhere. I took this screenshot straight after it shut down and got stuck in a boot loop. So I plugged it into the mains and it started OK. The battery just gives up when i stress the device with a hungry app or when booting which causes a heavy drain on the on the power even when its got a healthy charge. Got a new battery on order. Take a look at the screenshot. You can see the battery instantaneously drops to zero charge until it's re-booted on the mains.

in the list I forgot to mention that the known wifi's are also wiped. --> you have to connect to them again...
I too am having this exact problem; I'm glad to hear it is not only me, not that it helps any of us.
I posted in another thread, but the symptoms everyone here are describing are exactly what I am seeing:
- Sudden battery drop from anything (it's happened to me before about 5 minutes after unplugging from the wall socket) to zero; then phone goes into a loop unless I plug it back into the mains socket
- When plugging into the mains socket with this issue, sometimes the battery is empty and sometimes it shoots straight back up to where it was
- Plants Vs Zombies 2 is the sure-fire way for me to reproduce this issue
- examined logs (although not sure if the right one) using CatLog; nothing obvious (in fact the last line on one of the logs is litterally cut halfway through)
- Wifi connection details lost occasionally
I have reflashed about 4 other (4.3) ROMs (and I tried a 4.4 GE one too) and they all seem to do the same; I am wondering if it is something to do with the non-Knox modems required to flash the 4.3 ROMs as I don't think I had this problem before updating to 4.3. I don't have the time or patience to revert back to a 4.2 ROM to test this though.
I can go for a couple of days without this happening, but fire up PvZ2 and here we go again.
I too have a new battery on order (allegedly genuine from a well-known auction site), so I will update this thread when that arrives to see if it makes any difference.
I don't like this post for one reason.... it means that the problem I am facing won't solve with a format and a new fresh flash... :crying:
I was spending some time on XDA searching for a good stable firmware to flash because I am having your exactly same issues on my phone... I just tought my phone got a bit messy because I have 130 apps installed and a lot of stuff on it.. so I was just thinking of solving all my problems with a new rom... but then I found this 3d...
So you are telling me that my problem won't get solved so easely? How am I going to deal with a Phone that randomly shuts up??? I need my phone and over the last week it got always worse.. first it shut up at about 5pm.. (at ca 15% charge) then at 3pm and 50% charge... today it shut up at 11am and 80% charge... soon I won't be able to use my phone at all!!
I'm happy I backed up all my data today, but it still doesn't solve my problem since I really need my phone... :crying:
This evening I'm going to flash anyway... let's see what happens..
PS I own a GT-I9505 with 4.2.2 stock rom (root)
Random Shutdown and boot loop
Sorry to hear there's a few more out there with the same problem that I am having. AhHm... Sorry, WAS having. I tried re-flashing all sorts of ROMS from 4.2.2 to Echoe KitKat 4.4, flashed CF Root, reinstalled philz touch recovery god knows how many times all to no avail. I now know that it is nothing to do with your ROM or phone setup. It's Samsungs crappy battery. As soon as I put in my new battery problems solved. I have been running multi-window apps whilst having FB on in the background and watching a film all at the same time. If this was gonna crash it would have done by now.
Problem solved. Don't buy the cheap SPB £9.99 one on ebay it has lots of bad reviews. I got this one with no problems:

I'm glad you solved.. this means there could be a solution to my problem... in any case the fact that alla batteries here seem to fail in the same week is really strange!!
And the thing I hate most is that a 500€ phone shouldn't be dying after just some months!
After having spent some time googling around.. I found a solution... well, not exactly a solution... let's say I found the core of the problem...
I found some very interesting posts on the misfuncion on all Samsung S4 Batteries Made and Produced in China with SN starting with BD....
And guess what? my battery corresponds!!
If you look at the battery you will notice that it is a little "bumped" and not perfectly flat...
Here in Italy many users went to samsung customer service and got the battery replaced!
Tomorrow I will check to see if I can get a new battery... for now I'm happy to know exactly what to do in order to get my phone working again!

Yeah I found that out tonight also. I called samsung earlier today and they said if it is less than 2 years old they will repair it and I should send it to them. I have flashed so many ROMS since I purchased it last year and one or two with Knox which as we know registers that it has had a custom download which voids the warrantee so I thought it would be a waste of time sending it to them. Also I need my phone for work so it was easier to purchase a new battery.

Hi,
Do you have a link to the info? was it on an official samsung site?
Hello everyone,
I've got a huge problem with my s7 edge. It started betweend first and second week of usage of my s7 edge, phone got totally freezed and only volume down + power could do something with my phone. After few weeks later, freezes were very annoying, very often (2-10 times per day) and it took longer to reboot my phone. I decided to download oficcial unbranded software from sammobile, I've flashed my phone with 5 files using odin and do full wipe. When my phone booted it was ok for maybe 2 hours and again, freeze! Ok, so press volume down + power... It boots! But after few hours later, (phone was 80%+ battery) I tried to check recent notifications, took my phone, pressed power button... and nothing happens. Trying to hold volume down + power for longer than 10s and also nothing happens. Phone is not charging and when connected to computer, I can hear a sound that something is connected, but windows says that my device is not working properly. When holding volume down + power, I can hear again sound of disconnecting and connecting device again. It's now almost 24hrs from this freeze. Phone is completely dead. After I got up from bed, pressed volume down + power again and I saw GALAXY S7 edge on my screen, but again, freeze and nothing happens for maybe 10 minutes, so again, volume down + power and phone is dead again. Nothing happens...
If you experienced simillar problem or have any solutions, please help!
Cheers!

Since flashing a new software didn't help then it is definitely a hardware problem. If it is a defective unit then it should be repaired or replaced for free by the repair shop, assuming you haven't rooted your phone.
I haven't rooted my device, only flashed with latest official not branded samsung rom. I left it to my carrier on warrianty, waiting for response. Up to 2 weeks...

Had that problem with my Note 4 bro. It was a broken EMMC memory chip and Samsung should repair it by swaping the motherbord under warranty. If you Rooted it or tripped knox, like i did, than you have a problem coz they will ask you to pay for the repairs. If that happenes remind them this.. I wish i knew this before i sold my note 4 for scrap.

Good luck.
Time for small update,
thanks for links TheOne741. Cellular operator had sent my phone to authorised service, but they offered somethink like 70USD (different currencies) for repair, when new mainboard for S7 Edge is around 400$! I declined their proposal and now my phone is in other service, I want them to replace it by new one, still waiting! Hope for quick response from this second service point.
I had a Galaxy i5700 a lot time ago and I managed to install android into de SD and the simptoms u are describing are the same that happened to me when the SD had bad sectors before completely dying...
I tried removing sd card and sim card too, nothing changes.

Samsung ditched eMMC and went to UFS. while it may be a memory issue, its not eMMC.
Don't pay anything for Your phone. I've had one really sh***y service that told me the sim card slot is broken (on a device that I didn't even know that it has a sim card slot/tablet) and now I have to pay 100% same amount of money as the value of my whole tablet. That device wasn't even rooted. Nothing. I even had a sh***y insurance that didn't help me either. So I was left there with a choice of paying (device was around 100 usd) 100 usd(for a sim card slot repair that I don't even have idea if it exists, I've had phones with broken sim card slots and they were working fine) or just buy a new one. So I decided to call a "shopping lawyer"(I just payed for the call) I've no idea how to properly say that in english, sorry guys. And then the lawyer told me that I need to say that if they will not fix it on warranty then I'll go to court. Week later I got a letter that my device will be repaired as soon as they can do it, and that they are really sorry. After 14 days I got my tablet back, fully working.. well. They scratched the screen a lot so I just sold it later. Kinda sad with the scratches cause it was a really great GPS. 7 inches.. big screen.
So in conclusion.
Don't pay anything. Just use the warranty. Even if the device was rooted You have a full right to a warranty repair. And since You didn't root Your device then You're fine. It's a hardware defect and they have to pay for it and fix it.
Yup, I did not send my phone on warranty but on suretyship because my phone was only around month old! And it is obviously hardware problem, but first service tried to scam me. I have been reading tons of articles about scratching screens, breaking plastic frames, resending "repaired" laptops without few parts or even charger from very first service that my phone was sent to. And for that I took my phone away from them in a blink of an eye. Now I'm just waiting for expertise or replacement from other service.
I'm having a similar issue... hope somebody has an answer
Quick update after 40 days without phone. Motherboard is replaced. Not a whole device....
Now I want a IP68 standard confirmation. Authorised service doesn't want to give me any kind of document that confirms dust and waterproof (it should mean that my phone is assembled correctly!)
I won't sign any document that I received my phone without this.
What should I do? Where I can get any document about IP68 confirmation? Should I send my phone to another service just to confirm IP68 standard?
Once ur phone has been opened the ip68 cannot be restored unless Samsung is doing the seal.
Trimis de pe al meu SM-N9005 folosind Tapatalk
I received my phone with confirmation of all norms and standards that producent delivers. It doesn't have any signs of disassembling. Like new one. 37 days of usage and 40 days of servicing. Nice ratio
Thanks for help and information!
