I think hardware doesn't support this function.
hay
try to connect the device power from outside not from mobile , and the data from the mobile
the device works for me , i tried mouse and joypad and well worked for me
---------- Post added at 04:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:44 PM ----------
I mean the " otg cable "
connect the red and black cable with a power supply ( 3~5 v ) such as computer usb or the charger
and keep the data cables green and white connected
try it and it will work
He is asking for the kernel which is not available due to hardware limitations.
I asked Samsung about usb otg and they said:
Simply device does not have the technology ( software + hardware on the motherboard ) to be used.

What are you using to power the OTG? The N4 doesn't supply power for OTG no matter the kernel... you need to supply external power to the OTG device, something like this Host OTG Cable with Power connector or it won't work.
i can't post in dev fourms yet so i posted it here well : after downloading kernel source , building zimage with usb otg support , flashing it to my device , and thenn surprised that usb otg checker says your device dosen't support otg , I tried to connect flash drive and a computer mouse but nothing ! here are the screenshots sorry for my bad english

hi,
It looks like you have the same issue as the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, not usb-otg capable.
I don't know kf it has to do with Marvell hardware/components but, it's possble it does.
Head over to the Galaxy Tab 3 forums and see the threads on otg for the Tab 3 7.0

on the marvell based models no. but from what i've been seeing today the sm-t237p degasltespr is a qualcom/msm device, if it has the proper usb connector on board , that may be a maybe ? :silly:
from the kernel source;
Code:
The most notable feature of USB OTG is support for a
│ "Dual-Role" device, which can act as either a device
│ or a host. The initial role is decided by the type of
│ plug inserted and can be changed later when two dual
│ role devices talk to each other.
│
│ Select this only if your board has Mini-AB/Micro-AB
│ connector.

Figured this would be the best place to ask, discus or what ever else takes the fancy but I was floating the internet the other day looking up about USB OTG for my T230NU and found this...
A bit of googling didnt seem to pull up the CPU that the Brazilian "NT" varient uses... but what I am thinking is if it uses the same Marvell SoC as the T230 / T230NU would that be something that could be ported?
I Did do a quick forum search before typing this and nothing came up and thought it of potential interest
Anybody looking into this? OTG would be nice. Hate not being able to mount usb storage properly as well.

OTG support is not available on marvell variants. I don't know if the same holds tru for the sm-t237p which is a qualcomm/msm device
like the tab 4 10.1 and the tab 4 8.0
The same lack of OTG support occurs in the tab 3 line for the 7.0 models, again, marvell.
While the code is present in the kernel source, the actual required hardware components are not present on the board.
So the answer is no.

Edit- i do have a question about mounting the tab as usb-storage in recovery, either philz or twrp, does that work ?
Hello everyone,
Owning a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530FZ with android Version 5.0.2 , I wonder if it is possible to activate the OTG function (connect a USB interface to play a key) on this unit. Several technicians have told me that no, but one of them told me that this function is supported by its Galaxy Grand Prime and actually, he connected my OTG cable on his machine and could read the data on my USB key). He recommended me to reset my device.
My question is the following
Are there any Galaxy Grand Prime users who have successfully implemented OTG function on their Galaxy Grand Prime, and how they did it.
thank you for your reply
Best regards
Guepard66
galaxy grand prime not have otg support bro :/ sorry for the bad notice

and we never support in the future
I have a g531h and it supports OTG, I just bought the adapter and all works fine, I guess it depends on which specific model you have, I'm sure all of the 531's have it also
Hey buddy I have SM-G530H and i tried to get OTG Support for few days and nothing helped me i think you should upgrade to SM-G530H
but i think developers should develope kerenl for otg because i think its kerenl probleme
SM-G530H is an older model than the SM-G531H.
The SM-G530 does not have the required hardware to support OTG.
It is not a software problem or a kernel issue, it just won't work.

usure?? g531h support otg??
You can try to compile your own kernel and enable the modules for the OTG Support.

100% positive, I bought an OTG adapter kit for about 8 dollars and use it to plug in my USB drives when I need to access files on them
I have the SM-G531H running latest firmware but it worked out of the box before any updating too
USB OTG Support on Grand Prime SM-G531F and SM G-531H
Well it works...

Yes you Can
YES YOU CAN USE TH otg FUNCTION IN GALAXY GRAND PRIME BUT FOR THAT YOU HAVE TO INSTALL A CUSTOM ROM 6.0.1 THAt is listed in the development section. OTG function work properly in that but i also want you to know that in that rom battery consumption is high or fast . also after that i have problem with my camera . it says camera failed after 2 or 3 days which i m trying to figure out.

Guys we know that OTG doesn't support in a6000/plus..but we can see otgusb folder inside the stock ROM..(anyone noticed)it is a good sign for us i think...that our device support OTG...but I don't know how to activate OTG...so anyone doing research for OTG to our beloved device..check the image there is a otgusb folder...

Well there was a kernel **Baba Baltkari** with alleged OTG feature, but the developer left the project due to some conflicts. The developer himself has added a screenshot here. But, nobody else confirmed it. Its maybe due to the reason that others don't have the USB OTG-Y cable, which provides external power source. Well, I too never checked due to the same fact. BTW, having OTG support would be great. Its the only limitation in a6000.
