hello xda members,
i am stuck in a problem, it is that in a non lumia phone (lava iris win1) i changed registry values to identify it as lumia 830 device and get windows 10 update to build 14361 (yeah!!!!!) everything worked like flow in this low end device until i foolishly restored it to factory settings, ,,,, it rendered the regisrty values that i changed to original(lava original). now my phone is on build 14361 with non functional store, apps and most important the insider hub setting !!.
now what i did is using interlop tools appxbundle i changed regisrty settings to again lumia 830 one . but to get new insider build again i.e.- 14364 released yesterday (i hope it works again ) i want a functional insider app
i struggled to install windows insider app and that says this functionality is moved to settings(that is not working for me)
i just want help to enroll my device on fast ring through the insider app( not settings hub which is not working)
is there any way to edit registry and fool the app that it is running on windows 8.1 not on windows 10 ,,,, through which i again enroll it to fast ring
few things to note:-
1- in build 14631 i cant deploy xap
2- my phone is non-lumia so MDRT or reflashing doesn't help
,
,
lets see who finds the solution
What that mean.

I have recently installed Windows Vista on my computer and hooked up my also newly formatted PDA HTC TyTN with WM6 and as usual i cannot get them to work together, even speak. This by usb cable.
As i connected it to Vista it popped up asking me for a driver which i chose to install when Windows update said there was an update for it.
Error messages included:
This is my greeting message as soon as i start my computer and login to Vista:

Installing the driver like Vista want to:

And the not so helpful error message:

If any of you would like, in order to help i can allow remote controlling of my computer.
I will offer compensation via paypal for anyone who will take the time to remote connect to my computer and fix my problem, i have been trying for a very long time now and i cant figure it out.
we can discuss level of compensation but be aware i am by no means rich.
If I understand u, try this
1- donlod Window device center from here
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...f1-e46a-4a5f-a791-09f07aaa1914&displaylang=en
choose for Windows Vista (32-bit) or (64-bit)
& let me know
I have already tried that, i downloaded the x64 version for my vista installation and i start the install file, the progressbar loads fully then retracts and the installations program self-closes. no messages or anything.
i am serious when i say i am really stumped by how my system is acting...
try installing WMDC in safe mode, sounds like a file permissions problem
yup i tried that too, it didn't even open the installation wizard.
Got same problem - fixed with changing registry permissions
hi guys,
i was battling with this for a few days after a reinstall of my laptop. updated to vista sp2 and there you go, couldnt sync and got the error.
after mucking about i saw there were some access denied errors for the registry. this is what i did to fix it:
registry key in question:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Svchost\WindowsMobile
- Right click -> Permissions -> Advanced
- Took owner ship of the registry key
- Gave the Users group Full Control.
Then in device manager:
- Uninstalled my Microsoft Mobile Remote Adapter
- Scan hardware changes
and then it installed properly and am able to sync again
aj
thank you
Thank you thank you thank you thank you thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
i have been in this issue since 2 days, and what got me crazy after i have read your post that I'm the one who restricted the access to this registry using a domain policy(I'm a network administrator) for security reasons, but i don't know why i didn't got it @ first.
I granted my self the permission and it was able to install the drivers and letting WMDC starts.
thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu again and again and again.

How to remove the operator and get your Windows Phone Updates (HTC ONLY)
without comments
Howdy!
So NoDo was finally released this morning. Well, for the EU people anyway (don’t get me started).
Windows Phone 7, by default, stores your operator identifier in a sneaky registry key, which is checked by the Windows Update Client running on the phone. This identifier is then used to check if the updates have been approved for your operator. If they are slow, like Telstra here is in Australia, you’re going to be waiting a long time.
So, let’s tell you how you can “un-brand” (this won’t remove the boot splash screen) your phone so it appears to be a generic handset to the Update Servers.
Your device needs to be dev-unlocked for this to work. Sorry folks.
1.Download this zip file and deploy the 3 xap files onto your device.
2.Run the ChevronWP7.Ringtones.xap and wait till it displays “Ringtones added… and CustClear.provxml underneath”
3.Run the TouchXplorer app, navigate to My DocumentsMy Ringtones click on CustClear.provxml and select Copy from the Application Bar.
4.Navigate back inside TouchXplorer to the Windows folder.
5.Select paste from the Application Bar, this should scroll right to the bottom and put a copy of CustClear.provxml in the Windows folder.
6.Now run the Connection Setup application and click on the Ok button (it’s the one with the tick).
And now you’re done and free to re-connect to Zune and check for updates.
Again, this is ONLY for HTC devices.
Thanks to Rafael for his help.

This is only working with native WP7 devices, I assume.
Native Devices
Maybe, One way to find out? What harm can the update do? We have HSPL and Magldr, both should protect the SPL & Bootloader............
Tried it and it still doesn't detect the nodo update, I'm in the UK by the way so I should have access to it.
I'm in the U.S all the roms that have 7.08 other than boypcc it zune does't say a update is needed. On the boypcc rom it offers the update put the phone is locked so you can't try this out.
Tried it with boypcc's rom and now detects the update but gets stuck at creating a backup in the update process. Guess we'll just have to wait until a proper release with the update is made.
it aint going to make any difference, when your device goes in to flash mode windows installs a driver for a "LEO" device
i just reinstalled windows and at no point was anything on the phone or on the computer pointing to it being a Leo, that i know of, so MS can detect something that isnt right on a reboot and wacks it, if i had a native device to hand it would be intresting to find out what driver its installing, rip it out, update the leo driver installed for our HD2 to the other (correct native) driver. and see what happens.....or of course it may well detect some reg entry as stated, but i doubt thats the real cause as drivers are usually installed by hardware IDs but who knows hey!
Thanks
Thank you all for your input.
Greatly Appreciated
I have a dev unlocked + interop unlocked LG quantum (did it with apphub through dreamspark for free) and in the MFG menu there are tons of options, I stumbled across one that is strange, can anyone tell me what the values here do: Factory Menu > Engineer Menu > Other Setting > Edit Security Policy. I was just curious, perhaps it has something to do with how secure your phone is, but does anyone know for sure?
Locked but Unlocked?
I had done the MFG Unlock form your post earlier today and completed it fine.
I m having a LG quantum running on Mango, 7.10.7720
I am also having an issue of getting system Crashed regularly (the phone restarts automatically).
Now coming to the case, i unlocked the Phone using MFG tools, and changed the Input data as said.
My Pc is running on windows 7 Ultimate, i have installed
DotNet FX4.5,
Microsoft Blend addons SDK..,
Silverlight,C++ Redistribution,
Windows phone 7 Devoloper resources,
Microsoft Windows phone 7 addon for Visual Studio 2010,
Windows Phone Emulator,
Windows Phone 7.1 Assembler,
WPFtoolkit February 2010,and
Zune
..............
After the Unlock i installed XAPDeployX found on XDA,
and when i try to install a xap, (Filemanager)
i get this:
-----------------
Deployment started Unique File Maneger
Connecting to device...
Deployment FAILED with the following ERROR:
Application launch failed. Ensure that the device screen is unlocked and device is developer unlocked. For details on developer unlock, visit http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=195284.
-----------------
Also I had got another message saying
"The Phone is Devoloper locked!"
I rechecked the values in the Registry, which is as required per the post.
I also tried to email XAP files onto the phones, but its saying Unsupported file
Any chance you can help me out..
my aim is to install 3rd party softwares such as Filemanager, Games, etc from PC.

I got this phone a few days ago but its not able to access Marketplace.. and I can't figure out how to update to windows 7. So I can use it...
I currently using mysimplemobile with the phone if that helps at all.
..is the phone still in WinMo 6.5? if so try the link below, it might help
The Windows Mobile market was shut down by Microsoft, so you can forget geting Windows Mobile apps from it. You need to just hit up google to find Windows Mobile apps, but a good place to look is Freeware Pocket PC, you can also download and install the Omarket and use it to get Windows Mobile apps. The apps will download in a .cab file and you use the file explorer to install the apps.
Now to be honest with you I suggest you install Android on your HD2 because Microsoft has all but phased out Windows Mobile and with the news of the changes that Windows Phone 8 I do not think the HD2 will be able to be updated to WP 8. But if you still want to use Windows Phone 7 then a good start would be the guide I have linked in my signature.
hi all i want to install Samsung Diagnosis On my Nokia Lumia 620
(Maybe the unlock procedure for Ativ S worked for me by @Good Day To Die )!
with proxy i can't install it on my phone so i found the windows phone.com Link and download .XAP file from there !
then i go to Deploy Application of SDK8.0 ( MY phone is Dev. Unlock !) and want to deploy app then it said to me :
"Invalid XAP"
i tried this with multiple XAPs downloaded from windowsphone.com but nothing changes !
it works for unsigned apps
maybe if we can unsign (or maybe decompile )Diagnosis.XAP we are one step closer to Lumia 620 HACK (JAILBREAK !)
Please HELP !

No, no and no. You won't be able to sideload the Diagnostics of Samsung on a Nokia Lumia 620 because of two reasons :
1) You require interop-unlocked capabilities to sideload this unencrypted Diagnostics app. You can sideload the xap without these capabilities by removing these in the WMAppManifest.xml but you won't be able to write to the registry of the phone, rendering this diagnostics app totally useless.
2) You won't be able to use the Diagnostics app because of the missing FCRouter (only Samsung has this).
This has been discussed numerous times (I will refer you to this post by contable and this post by contable) on XDA. Please use the search button before you post something next time.
I'm sorry to say this, but if you wanted to have an interop-unlock WP, you've bought the wrong one. Nokia's security is tight, for instance they use a custom firmware format FFU, which is a pity because if they used a signed WP8 file with an unsigned CSC file, this would make things a whole lot easier.

hahah
of course you don't know many things
1. The xap file you downloaded fron wp.com is already unsigned when you want to install an app via sd you should to be connect to the internet then your phone check you live account and then if it is free or purchased app then it get the sign file and pin it to app then install
2. We have the signed and Unsigned diagnosis app from Samsung Ativ S official Rom so we can deploy it on phones but diagnosis app needs interop services (ID_CAP_INTEROPSERVICES) and many other restricted APIs in the other hand if we can deploy it anyway because non-Samsung devices have no FCRouter dll and some other exclusive dlls from samsung we can't use diagnosis .
so we have to find another way to Interop Unlock first then copy samsung dlls using Interop capabalities to other phones then *maybe* we will be possible to use diagnosis.
3.i saw that the diagnosis app in the store is different from what we see in Ativ S.
4. Xaps downloaded from store are encrypted by PlayReady that i didn't find any possible way to decrypt it .
your way tested many times by the proxies here and a proxy that me and mohsen-unique made to change some values in the store that it change paid apps to free and made unpublished apps to live but it didn't work at all.
so don't think about it
