I got this phone a few days ago but its not able to access Marketplace.. and I can't figure out how to update to windows 7. So I can use it...
I currently using mysimplemobile with the phone if that helps at all.
..is the phone still in WinMo 6.5? if so try the link below, it might help
The Windows Mobile market was shut down by Microsoft, so you can forget geting Windows Mobile apps from it. You need to just hit up google to find Windows Mobile apps, but a good place to look is Freeware Pocket PC, you can also download and install the Omarket and use it to get Windows Mobile apps. The apps will download in a .cab file and you use the file explorer to install the apps.
Now to be honest with you I suggest you install Android on your HD2 because Microsoft has all but phased out Windows Mobile and with the news of the changes that Windows Phone 8 I do not think the HD2 will be able to be updated to WP 8. But if you still want to use Windows Phone 7 then a good start would be the guide I have linked in my signature.

I am looking for a way to sync ical with my tasks and appointments on my phone. Ive found software online and whatnot, but nothing for 5.0. anyone know of anything? I would really appreciate it.
Missing Sync for Windows Mobile
I'm using Missing Sync for Windows Mobile on my OS X MBP. It works great and you can install .cab applications with it as well. Unfortunately you still need a windows machine/install to install the .exe stuff but I've found most software vendors for PPC apps supply a .cab install option now as well.

cool ill track down a PC and try it out. THanks!
You won't need a PC to install Missing Sync, it's a Mac universal binary. What I was speaking of are applications for the PPC device that require you to run an executable on a host PC (windows) to then install the application on to your device. However I just found this on another forum and I think I'm going to give it a try.
File Juicer - one of the features is "Extract CAB files from Pocket PC self installing EXE files" once you have the .cab you can install the application via missing sync.

oh I think i found this once, but 40$ and no trial scared me...
Hi guys, I installed the Windows Live Package from http://www.live-messenger.nl/download/WindowsLive.PPC2005_ARM.CAB. It worked perfect, now i wanted to know how much memory this app costed, so i uninstalled it again. But when i tried to install it again, it failed When i open the cab, it loads approx. 5 seconds in the installer, then the installer says Installation of WindowsLive.PPC2005_ARM.CAB has failed Anybody suggestions how i can get this work??
p.s. Without a hard reset
I have also done the same thing and get the same error. I had to uninstall Windows Live Mobile because I was getting an error everytime I tried to launch Live Messenger. Now I can't re-install it again.
I have 2 main ideas:
1st.: Microsoft is cutting the service from these "un-official" releases of their software, as they are trying now to sell Windows Mobile 6 and Windows Live can't be downloaded or installed let's say "legally".
2nd. (which doesn't affect the first one): Microsoft recognizes the WLM software as not pre-installed or being installed on a Windows Mobile 5 device and tells the client to get "blocked", I mean, it writes some values to the registry and prevents being launched or installed again showing the empty error message I had before unistalling it.
Someone can verify any of my ideas or bring a solution to have WLM working again on our WM5 devices?
Thanks in advance.
Romero i've found the problem! I got my hands on an UNdated UNrestricted version. As you said mic. just cut the WLM off. I do not knowe why but here is the fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36364&d=1175459584

neither of those are correct, the reason is thats its a beta and expired at the beginning of the month. therefore you cant run the program or install it. just get a new beta version by signing up to Microsoft Connect or use the older version thats been extracted from wm6 thats floating around here.
Try it, like the worker:
WindowsLive.PocketPC_50_arm.cab
Thank you very much ASerg!
The version The Dutchman posted was in English, but I find out that the Aserg's file was several kB bigger... That made me think and decided to install this bigger one and finally got Windows Live Mobile working in Spanish, just like before my beta had expired.
So thank you again guys!

At the moment you can only use an Application that will start Android automatically when Windows Mobile boots.
Developers are working hard to create a possibility to start Android from internal Memory, but it's not yet finished.
Just do a bit of searching and you'll find several Windows Mobile applications that wil either automatically start Android, or give you a menu in which you can choose whether to boot Windows Mobile or Android.
Try searching for 'load android' in the HD2 Themes and Apps forum, and you'll find several apps to automatically start Android.
Hi
I have searched these forums for a long time, to find out if I could get another operating system than Windows Mobile, as I'm experiencing a lot of problems with the phone, also after a hard reset, and contacting HTC-support.
Is it possible in any way at all, to get another operating system than Windows Mobile 6.5 on this device. I really want to have android on it, but I haven't been able to find anything that could get android on my device.
So it would be nice if someone could tell me how to get another OS on this device, as I'm getting tired of Windows Mobile
Same question for me
So far you cant have any other OS than Windows Mobile 6.5. But there is hope for having Android on Mega -> you can check progress HERE .
I have an xperia x2 with Windows mobile 6.5. Its Windows became problematic after installing softwares and hard resetting over the course of time.
There are some ROMS out there which is basically some softwares in .CAB format. My question is this;
Is it posible to install a fresh copy of windows on my phone and how?
My question maybe wrong but I really need some information on this issue.
