IMEI Corrupted Galaxy S5 g900f - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone,
I am trying to fix my not registered on network problem on my galaxy S5 G900F
Until now I tried flashing various versions of stock ROMs, but none of them worked. I mean I was able to flash them properly, but it didn't fix "not registered on network". So I am thinking that my efs folder is corrupted. I rooted the device and installed a custom ROM: xXx_NoLimits_4.3_G900FXXU1CPE9, Kernel version 3.4.0-7182592 [email protected] #1, Baseband version is G900FXXU1CPCH.
After that I tried EFS Pro software, but I am not sure what am I supposed to do there. Any pointing to the right direction will be highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

if you are using twrp recovery and have done a backup of a rom then you can see if you have done a backup of the efs folder and flash it again
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA-Developers mobile app

I just got the phone with corrupted efs, so I have no backup with a good efs. Any other ideas?

If you purchased the device with a corrupt imei then the only option is to return it to the seller to get them to sort it out. If you don't have a backup, then giving advice on how to 'rebuild' it is not going to be given as this same advice can be used to modify or change an imei number which is illegal in most countries....
Sorry fella but that's the way it is....

+1 here. I have lost my imei after install xxxno limits v4.7.1 with stock kernel in G900M

Same here. I tryied several things:
- reflash an other ROM, MODEM, BOOTLOADER. Same issue.
I have a backup of the EFS partition but, it's impossible to write it back. I tried almost all the program we can find they said it's ok but no. IMEI is not back.
Any idea?

I also see that the band version is corrupted. I have no band version at all... Any idea?

OK thanks I try and give feedback
Sent from my SM-A710F using XDA-Developers mobile app

There are two XDA accepted ways to fix this.
1. A successful restore of a backed up EFS. (backing that up on a samsung device should be common sense by now. This has been happening for years with them)
2. Send it back to the OEM for repair. (most times they charge you for another board)
Due to the different laws around the world concerning the IEMI of a device and who can legally mess with it. This is XDA stance on the matter.
Now no further talks about how to edit the imei in anyway shape or form. Even if it is to put the correct one back.

if you haven't do nandroid backup. you are on a very bad luck side. there is nothing you can do.
unless you can get someone else nandroid backup.
but if they give it to you. both of you have the same imei..
You should have made efs backup ,
What did you do in the first place?

stock rom or recovery does not restore your imei, since efs partition is not flashed with these.
and i think that nandroid backup also does not backup your imei neither.
always do a backup of your efs partition after rooting.
see this if it helps.
if not, unfortunately, take it to service center.
always remember to backup efs partition . specially if your going to install a custom ROM :fingers-crossed: ..

You shouldn't post your IMEI on public.
They could potentially clone it and the situation will be much worst.
As @ChristopherXI said, don't reveal your IMEI in public. It may create mass for you. You better edit your post.
@paktepu, to fix your issue I would suggest to do the whole debrick process I posted here. It worked and fixed IMEI for many users.

Do these fastboot command
"Fastboot erase data
Fastboot erase cache

Then flash the whole ROM again through adb.
This fixed the missing EMEI for me. This should fix your mismatch IMEI for you too

Android M has different RIL configuration which will be reverted back to Android L if you flash the 5.1.1 custom ROM. After that when u will flash the stock lollipop, the sim card and imei will behave as expected.
Follow the steps below:
1. Have patience, the process is so tedious.
2. I assume u know how to flash CM ROMs. Flash this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-5/orig-development/beta-cyanogenmod-12-1-tank0412-t3285392
It's an android 5.1.1 CM. It will fix your RIL config so that the stock will work properly.
3. I'm assuming that you know exactly how to flash the stock firmwares. Please flash the stock. Start with this UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.21.40.30-user.
4. Flash UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-2.22.40.54-user
5. Flash UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-3.24.40.78-user
6. Flash UL-ASUS_T00F-WW-3.24.40.87-user
7. Make sure u follow the firmware versions i have mentioned above.

You don't have to go through this .
Just download the latest Kitkat firmware and then flash the latest Lollipop firmware and you are done.

Bro, I did this when reverted back to stock from Android M. Your way will fix the phone upto kitkat but will make IMEI null and sim networks down when you will upgrade to stock lollipop, I have tried this. It requires to flash a CM based 5.1.1 ROM and then revert to stock.

Make a note of your devices model number and serial number then use Samsung Smart Switch/Emergency software recovery and initialisation.
It should download the latest firmware for your particular device and restore it.
*This process will factory reset your device so backup any data that you want to keep.

You should have done it before with root explorer. Just do the root phone. You should make that copy. If you do not have it now, you have to find another solution.

As MclBenner said, you need to update your TWRP : https://twrp.me/leeco/leecolepro3.html
Try redownload and copy the rom again to your internal memory. That may help
i was also getting error 7 when trying flash rom's as well.
I tried updating TWRP as instructed above and continued to get twrp error 7 when i tried to flash any rom.
I then noticed that my error was based on the modem baseband date being wrong.
So I just re-ran the 20s update via eui's update utility and rebooted and was able to flash rom's again.
I hope that helps somebody.
I don't believe the problem was the TWRP version because I re-flashed it twice and the error 7 persisted

I'm not sure but I just flashed a custom ROM over that backup and everything just worked for me.
I never tried to use it so I don't know. Maybe you have some leftover stuff that you didn't get wiped.
I'd try to start over now that you have the ability to flash ROM's again.

Respectfully, there is no 21s firmware, go back one page and read.
This error 7 is the most common issue on the Le Pro 3 forums and the question has been answered literally a thousand times.
Error 7 is resolved by updating Twrp.
If you cant update Twrp, update your firmware.
Do a Google search and type : "All in One Tool Leeco Pro 3"
You can use it to resolve all of the possible issue variables, so download the newest version of Twrp for your device.
If you have a ZL1 then download the Twrp for the ZL1 if you have a ZL0 then download the TWRP for the ZL0 : I suspect that this is your actual issue: wrong Twrp.
Again get your files together: Twrp, Rom, Gapps, Magisk and at your current stage of using Roms the All in One tool is the best and easiest option. The All in One Instructions are on the Main All In One Tool XDA page.
Sim Card Card issues are often resolved after flashing the correct firmware.

J3 2016 Bootloop on stock rom

Hello i have a problem with my samsung j3 running stock rom. The problem came up on its own , one day it just bootlooped after a restart. I tried flashing the original firmware using odin but it did not fix the problem. I also tried formating the cache partition using the stock recovery. Is this a bootloader problem ? Any feedback is welcome thank you.
The guide i used to flash the stock rom is this one. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-j3-2016/how-to/guide-how-to-flash-stock-rom-j3-2016-t3765677
Try to flash the stock ROM with the correct country code, it contains 5 files (PIT File included) and restart

Where can i download the stock rom ? i only used custom roms on my phones with this being the only exception... thats why i have no idea on how to recover it. Without losing data.
You didn't made any backup?
As far I know, it's impossible to recover all your data.
Look at the sammobile site, there's a lot of stock ROM for your J320fn provided with country codes.

Hey sorry for the late answer. I did download all the roms i tried to flash from sammobile. Problem is the problem persists telling me the problem is elsewhere.
Try to flash the netherlands stock rom, it solved my issue when i had bootloop in my j320fn (j3 2016).

Thank you for your help i am downloading the file now...
Well that did not work. Problem is that in all my attempts i did not wipe the data clean only the cache partition. The boot loop is likely caused by something else than the Rom. I have to wipe the data. Problem is i cannot save anything because it wont even connect using adb.
