Hi all,
I think my Proximity sensor is broken..... can one try the following:
*#0588# (Proximity Sensor Test Mode)
And tell me what happens when the sensor is covered?
Also anyone got suggestions on how I can fix this?
Thanks
Tony
It works for me with *#0*# then select sensors and then move your hand close to the phone.
It also works with your code, the phone vibrates and the background changes colour when my hand is 5cm above the sensor.

Your code did not start anything running.

Can you please tell me what it says in Sensor?
In Proximity Sensor I have:
Proximity Sensor (Min/Avg/Max)
------------------------------------------
PROXIMITY: null ADC: 0 (0,0,1)
and sometimes when I cover the sensor it changes to : ADC: 2 (0, 1, 2)
Thanks
Looks like it is broken ACC 78(83,85,89) with my thumb over the sensor.
The important number is the first number (78). This must go over 10 to register as near at about 5cms , then the background turns green.

Thanks for that. Do you know if it's a firmware (I do have original Firmware on it but had CM7 on it for a while)
Looking like a faulty phone to me. These are hardware sensor tests.
a friend of mine has the same problem. We bought the telephone together but , after 1 month, his proximity sensor stopped working.
We tried the samsung diagnostic tool receiving the same information (ADC reach maximum 4).
we noticed that it stopped working after the change of the rom (with the installation of the clock recover) but I'm sure this is the real cause.
Is there a configuration file where proximity sensor parameter like gain/offset are stored?
Maybe some buggy application has changed these values.
if you have no warrenty, you can buy a replacement sensor, only about £10, it's front cam/sensors in one component
problem fixed!
Using phonetester it took 5 minutes to connect to the sensor (while with my phone it took 1 minute) but once connected , the proximity sensor started to work again also with samsung diagnostic and phone application.

what did u use to repair ?, mines says proximity: null ADC range from 1 when nothing is in it;s way to 255 when coverd...
install only apps that you trust fully
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
my zenfone lasers auto rotation is not working
things performed by me are flash full system , clean dalvik no luck
i have loaded sensors multitool in that i have check each sensor and all sensors graph values are 0.0 and rotation vector value is -1.0
is there any solution for this or my phones sensors are get physicaly damaged
tried quik tune up for calibration of sensor it works all sensor started to work some time after some the sensors stop working please help me for this issue please
Hello everyone!
I have a problem with my Galaxy S8 (G950F). Proximity sensor working like is too sensitive - without any screen protectors, cases etc. it showing ADC value of ~2400 and it's always turned on. When I bring my hand closer the value increases and when I move it away it decreases - randomly it starts to work correctly (then the ADC value showing 140-160). I tried to clean the holes near the sensor using compressed air, factory reset, firmware flashing - nothing helped. Is there a way (with or without root) to change initial value at which the sensor begins to detect face, for example to start working when ADC value is greater than 2500?
Hi, guys!
I have a Redmi Note 7, and my accelerator sensor not working correctly. I can't calibrate.
I tried :good: :
- Flash persist.img in recovery mode using orangefox
- Flash persist.img in terminal of the recovery mode
- Edit flash_all.bat and others archives for flashing in EDL MODE (not succesfull, i not gain authorization)
I unlocked bootloader for all proccesing
Obs: The gyroscope, magnetic sensor, proximity sensor and light sensor work correctly.
I do not know what to do now
can anybody help me ?
in the last case, some developer knows how to disable only the accelerometer, that would help me a lot.
- Red ball position of the accelerometer: https://ibb.co/ZMmXwqc
- Accelerator calibration fail: https://ibb.co/hXk8zHc
- Icons upside down in the camera options: https://ibb.co/GC855fv
- Gyroscope Ok: https://ibb.co/tpH3R07
- Light sensor test Ok: https://ibb.co/Rz3CXzg
- Magnetic sensor Ok: https://ibb.co/QvqdPcY
- Proximity sensor Ok: https://ibb.co/KmBG2vk

Flash in persist by recovery mode
If anyone gets here after searching for hours without no solution in sight, just drop your phone on the ground. No really, it probably stopped working after you dropped it accidentally, and you'll need to do the same for it to work again. I just hope you have a nice silicon case for it to withstand the fall without breaking into pieces haha
I have i problem with accelerator sensor, bc when Im watching YouTube video And I rotate phone don't rotate stay vertical, i activated automatically rotation, but nothing happen, i test gyro and it's working, test accelerator and "x" value don't work, get stuck on 78 value and don't move, "y" and "z" still movin.
I try reset phone, calibration sensors, and nothing work, camera get stuck horizontal mode.
After looking into your problem , I think it's the issue with your device's hardware.
The same happened with one of my friends some days back.
Yes was a hardware problem, hit mi phone with table, so hard and just fixed gyro and acce,
