Hi there, just wondering does any Australian users who own G935FD flashed the Nougat beta firmware? Does it perfectly work with any carriers? And will I still receive OTA afterwards? Cuz I really want to try the new rom but couldn't find any official stock as backup. Many thanks

I'm on Nougat Beta 1 flashed via odin. Definitely recommend.

I am an Australia user who flashed Nougat beta 1 as soon as it came out. Haven't had any real problem with it. It has minor bugs here and there but its good enough for my daily driver.

No I flashed a generic XSA CSC from the latest Marshmallow official firmware. Download and extract from the zip on Sammobile. This was an attempt to get Samsung Pay working, but it looks like they're disabled it for Nougat regardless of the CSC.

Thanks for remain, one thing I am still concerning that when I flash back to official stock, will I still get OTA? Since my Galaxy note4 is running on an official stock and still can receive OTA after I flashed many times of different ROMs.
I have an s7 edge (G935W8) which is from canada. I am using it in india right now. I want to get volte working on my device which from searches i've found that i need to have indian firmware installed on my phone.
So i tried several firmwares, MM and N also, but no luck with odin. It is giving errors straight away ( repartition operation failed and oltht). Tried different firmwares, only ap and csc, repartition ticked and unticked and all the stuff that i've founded on the internet.
I don't want to root, i want only official Indian firmware on my S7 EDGE from CANADA (SM-G935W8).
Please guys help me out with that. I want it done.

So many videos out there for the other countries for changing the csc. Why not for canadian one?
because G935W8 have csc for canadian carriers, not same csc as G935F the international one

Yes, you can get back to the stock firmware from custom ROM. All of the stock firmwares/os are here: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and can be flashed with odin, resetting the phone to factory default state, i.e. as you buy it now and without any info on it. No matter if it was custom ROM or not before that.

Depends on the model. If on the site there is canadian firmware for that model of the s7 - can be done via odin. If the phone is specific and there is no canadian firmware - can't be done.

You can't flash the TMO Firmware since it's Snapdragon you will brick your device.
You can, however, flash TMO CSC

If you just want to change to the TMO CSC, s7freak's info is the way to go.
If you are looking to completely wipe and reload the stock firmware that came with your phone, You have to use SM-G935F firmware.

Have a question here, we get a lot of US imported phones here in Pakistan, mostly AT&T and Verizon S7 edge phones.
They've got carrier bloat and whatnot, I remember reading people flashing Verizon ROMs to get that to work properly on their AT&T phone and flashing AT&T on a T-Mobile phone to get that to work properly, so if one flashes a G935U firmware on a G935V, is it expected to work fine and act as an ordinary Snapdragon 820 S7 edge with no carrier bloat or anything?
All replies will be appreciated.
Thanks

I have, but there have been reports of it not working for some people as well, so I wanted to know if it's a legit method or if it's trial and error and it works for some and it doesn't work for others, because if it does work officially, then it'd solve a huge headache on choosing US variant phones here and we can all relax since the 935U firmware can be flashed on carrier branded phones.
Now, I need to get my hands on an American S7 edge to test this out myself.
Off course without testing nothing can be confirmed ... But most people r too faint hearted to try it

All of them. AP includes the system, recovery and cache, CP includes modem, BL includes bootloader, and CSC includes sales code.
The ROMs for S7 usually come with CSC and HOME_CSC, the latter will not wipe your device and keep the Verizon CSC which may cause issues and require you to factory reset your phone, the normal CSC files wipes the data and switches your CSC to the new one you're trying to flash.
Choose whichever one you want but I'd suggest the normal CSC just to be safe.

The main issue with me was poor battery life which was resolved when I reverted back to marshmallow. But I have yet to test the battery life on nougat. Other than this, phone is running smoothly and it feels light now due to no bloatware.

Oh, so Verizon to T-Mobile swap is fine.
Thanks for the heads up!
Whilst your post is is informative, I hope you will excuse me being a little pedantic, if the phone is "hard bricked" it can't be fixed and conversely if it cab be fixed then generally that would be considered "soft bricked".

So far it CAN'T be fixed, so for now consider it a hard brick.
And stop arguing semantics when we are trying to actually help people and warn them before they brick their phones.
Very scary. Prevents Comsey ODIN from working?
Source : Portal of XDA
https://www.xda-developers.com/samsung-galaxy-s8-note8-bootloader-odin/
So does it apply to the international model too? If I get a G955F from Germany and flash a XEU firmware, it will brick?
I Have a doubt here. I am in a unlocked tmobile firmware on oreo beta. I was planning to flash unlocked firmware to it. so my question is
1) If i flashed unlocked US firmware G955U1 to G955U now, will it hardbrick after BLv3 update.
2)If i flashed now and updated to Blv3 after G955U1 will it be stuck to that firmware forever?
Thanks
xdanilva said:
This applies to all American/Snapdragon and Exynos S8, S8+ and Note 8 models once BLv3 comes out for those models.
If you flashed a out of region firmware such as G955W, G955F, G955FD etc.
Flash back to your original model firmware or you'll be hard bricked. I'll post updates about the hard brick part. There's some news developing about how to fix the hard brick.

As i can see in sammobile there is 955FD firmware and it's the same as 955F.
I will be ok or not?

Does this only affect U.S. models or will this affect all models? Also, does this mean there will be no more rooting these devices or can you still root them as long as your phone didn't originally have v3? I.e., the modders can still build versions of the new modified firmware with v3 replaced with the old one? Or will those of us who want to keep our root have to just never ever update (through flashing)?
I'm sorry... this means we can't install custom firmware after this ? what i can do now to prevent this ? i have 955FD and not installed custom firmware or root yet... i want to be able to install custom firmware ... what can i do ?
Seems that Samsung reads XDA as well.... Targeted "security patch"... ?

What could be the reasons for anyone to flash another region firmware / ROM? Just curious.
Anyway im safe because i use G955F ROMs (my device is G955F) from the beginning and plan to do so in future, right?
