I.m not a dev, just asking if this is possible.
I was inspired for this idea by a comment from an user on a s7 port, which seems legit: why to have all the teouble with s7 MM ports when is much easier, i guess, to port a note 4 rom, and make available different flashable zips mods for it, with s7 goodies?
I think most users, even power users, would love to have a stable MM port, even it doesn.t have all the "new" things from s7, which, frankly, I don.t even use.
What do you think?

We had S6 port then N5. Why turn back to old devices?. There is only 1 MM S5 port thread here but there are several of N5 & S7 ports. The S5 port isn't problem free either. And many users are looking for newer features.

Hey guys , Is there a possibility to port the Galaxy S6 stock ROM to the Note 4 ? MKBHD and several others report the touchwiz is super de-bloated and fast . Also the camera app is revamped with better image processing and the overall UI is cleaner .
I've asked the same question on the Note 4 forum mate numerous times but I'm afraid there's been no concrete answer.
The S6 has already been out for a good couple of weeks now so normally I would have expected something among an s6 touchwiz ported Rom to pop up in the development forums even if as just a very early alpha build but so far haven't seen anything apart from couple of roms that have some of the launcher and some apps included from the s6 not the system itself.
I can see you guys haven't seen or notice a SEARCH BAR on this forum, if you use that magic happens, there are plenty of thread and questions about this subject, and yes, theres a WIP ( work in progress) GS6 rom for Note 4, just do a lil more research on XDA or www.google.com, hope it helps, cheers:fingers-crossed:
Hi. I want to share my experience with a couple of ROMS. Maybe people new to ROMS or to the S6 would like to know.
Before my S6 I used iPhones for years (ever since the 3GS). I always jailbroke my phones and customized iOS as much as possible. For that reason I immediately rooted my phone and looked in to any improvements I could make.
Just so you know: Rooting usually trips Knox and yes you probably lose your guarantee. That's a whole other subject.
The S6 is a fantastic phone, no matter what everyone says about battery life, etc. It's still freaking great and much better than an iPhone 6.
1. My second favourite (but many people's favourite and #1 choice as ROM for the S6): XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition
If you want to immediately improve your S6 I suggest you install the XtreStoLite Deo-Mod Edition. It's a super lightweight version of the original Touch Wiz rom. It's got all of the Samsung bloatware removed. It's extremely fast, animation speeds are adjusted, and it makes it a 100% better experience than the original Touch Wiz that comes with the phone.
It comes with a companion zip file called the Aroma Package. It's like a second installation which includes tons of optional apps and customizations you can add to your phone. It's developed by @edgarf28. Go download it, and give him THANKS.
2. My favourite ROM (and also for many others): back-to-n0t3; Bring the larger fun to the flagship
The absolute best ROM for me is the back-to-n0t3; Bring the larger fun to the flagship. It's the Galaxy Note 5 firmware ported over to the S6. Since the Note 5 and the S6 are basically the same phone, the developer @arter97 noticed that in the Note 5 many finishing touches, memory management and performance was handled better than in the S6, so he ported the ROM.
I'll just say that after using this ROM my S6 has been on another level. It works great, it gives me 3 hours of SOT (and many people report even 5 hours). I use my phone non-stop: Facebook, Twitter, Email, etc. I give myself no restrictions.
Animation speeds are great, RAM never reaches max usage, and the higher DPI resolution is also something I love.
I also now have some of the features of the Note 5 in my S6: I can stream videos directly to Youtube, can use the "one handed" settings, etc.
So download it and thank the developer.
Both these ROMS will make you a happier S6 user.
Great explanation.
Fingerprint reader Funtionality
@gaston_garcia Does Fingerprint reader work in any of the roms you mentioned?
Does your private mode works properly on back to n0t3?
Fingerprint works in both Roms

i know exynos is not friendship for devs. but idont know that;
when is the coming cm 12 or miuı roms for galaxy s6?
sorry for bad grammar
I had bad experience with ports in the past, both on my note 3 and my old htc desire. Something was always broken. People say that they don't have any bugs and all features are working, but that was never the case in real life usage.
So, how well to all these note 5 ports perform? Be honest please.
Smokkie note 5 works.. It's been stripped down and works like a dream

Depending on what you need for daily use I guess, I tried out a couple of ROMs and have settled for the Phronesis ROM, in my experience there will always be minor bugs in custom ROMs that get fixed eventually or at least quicker than any update you get from Samsung but for the most they are still more functional that what you came from stock
Hey guys,
I'm using the yoyo.rom MM port right now (http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-s7edge-marshmallow-port-t3368139) which is not longer supported / continued.
I like it's clean stock-like appearance but it has some bugs.
So... does anybody know a good and clean Samsung stock-like alternative?
If it comes with S7 Edge features - good if it's just a Note 5 port, it's fine for me, too.
Thanks
Tom
Darkera13 port is awesome, very stocky and battery friendly IMO.

You can try AryaMod v4. Its the best for me so far.
As mentioned above thses are very good roms with a few bugs. But if you have a sprint n900p you run into a different set of problems. Such as no mobile data, text messenger doesnt work, and mobile hotspot isnt possible.

I've tried Aryamod and Darkera Port. For most STOCK experience I suggest you the Darkera port. I'm runing it right now and it's very good.
Anyway both two have great battery life and performance.
Didn't try Dark wolf for the black theme that I don't like and Phronesis that doesn't run, don't know why....
Hello, guys. Samsung has released the open source kernel of the s7. Providing information to those who want to receive the kernel on the screen anytime
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=F&searchValue=SM-G935F
good news for us?
Khongloi ports already have kernels for this device that have full Note 7 display driver ported, which means fully functioning AOD, nothing new really I guess
