Galaxy S4 I9506 2g network problem

Hi,
I Have a galaxy i9506 (orange france android 4.3),
Phone was unlocked now but I have no network on 2G , 3G finds network just fine.
Any way to fix this? Can I rewrite modem file and then try to unlock with *#0011# method?
If this is posible can someone direct me to a good modem file?

If i write modem is posible to unlock by nck code i supose. I realy need 2g network.

How can I bring the phone to it's original state (locked orange france) so I can the use a NCK code to unlock it?

Flash the france orange firmware from sammobile's firmware database. Instructions are on the same page as the download. I can't link, sorry.

I did that , It kept all my programs and settings intact , root was left intact too. I used odin 3.09 . so nothing happedend after flashing original firmware from sammobile.

If you have rooted than its very good, wipe everything from recovery and flash complete firmware from odin. Its impossible that root is there, because system,kernel and recovery partitions are overwritten. However su binary app will be there but will not work because data partition remains intact.
Now back to your original problem, i don't know how you unlocked your phone? I am afraid phone's efs is not corrupted, because if everything is good means imei and modem and when phone try to register on network of locked phone then it simply ask code. Check imei, modem and network status, if your phone is registered on network and showing carrier name?
Backup efs partition before playing more because if efs is corrupted than you are finished ! I9506 is qualcomm version so QPST tool can also help in modem related issue, press thanks if it helps

Indeed after reflash i lost root. But the phone is still unlocked and no 2g signal. How can i relock it? The phone was unlocked with direct unlock option from some unlock software... dunno witch one(I bought it already unlocked and rooted )

I searched some gsm forums and found something that is said to work for I9506 too:

connect your N9005 to the Box using USB in ( dm+modem+adb ) mode by dialing *#0808# in Samsung's Dialer ..
1st - Choose N900w8 from the list then click Repair 3G Network this will Fix the 2G network
2 - choose N9005 again and press repair 3G network again this will Fix the 3G network with 2G working too
Unfortunately I don't think anyone in my city has SPT BOX ( .... i will search some gsm services

I told u some points, please follow it and find out what is the root cause of your problem then try to ask or fix. You can use qualcomm nv tools and qpst for imei but first find out what is the cause then ask for help.

Hi , thank U for the info. I must now learn how to use the program to rebuild NV of the phone ( atleast i think that i must do) . never had to do such fixes of any phone. The i9506 was unlocked by direct unlock in z3x box. After that no more 2g connectivity , the phone finds network if I manualy search but cannot connect to it. Sais emergency calls only.
Anyway I think your sugestion will fix my problem .... just have to learn how to use program

I rooted phone , backed up all that I could find to backup in EFS Professional 2.1.73 and after that I tried option "repair NV Data file permisions" "Option to repair NV data file ownership to fix 'Unknown baseband' and 'No signal' issues." .... then big dissapointment .... popup "This option cannot be used with your device! " . Damn I was realy hopeing that the option will repair my 2G signal problem. Seems that I must find another solution .... maybe some other sugestions?

When u run efs professional u have 4 options, try 2nd option 'Qualcomm nv tools' . Check information on diagnostic tab and if u see any thing wrong try secure ops tab for ESN / MEID / IMEI repair, also first check that your phone is showing correct IMEI by *#06# which is on behind the battery.

The phone is showing corect imei. I browsed through tabs , backed-up nvdata(took more than 30 min).I will look at diagnostics tab to see if anything shows "RED" .

From snaps, it seems your phone is registered on network and modem is working fine that's why showing correct IMEI. Normally when your phone is not registered on network, shows emergency call and null IMEI then you are unable to call or sms but i can't understand your case. If you are not able to call or sms then try changing different carrier sim or upgarde to latest kitkat 4.4.2, follow this link

Those snaps were from 3g Connection..... whitch works just fine.... I upload screenshots with 2G only network..... if I manualy search networks while in 2G it finds all of them.... but does not register on sim carrier network. If I try the other networks that it finds it sais network not alowed by sim...

i have the same problem. will look foward to this . to fix it
my carrier is orange spain and im on kitkat 4.4.2 data works.3g and 4g but 2g no.
imei is same as back also imei is not blacklisted

At last i can say your phone efs is corrupt, try manually writing IMEI again from Qualcomm nv tools and flashing kitkat 4.4.2. If don't work then samsung tool (Z3X) or other hardware box can fix efs like u unlock from Z3X box.

N9005 .. Bb: Unknown .. Imei: Null .. !!

this note 3 (N9005) lost BB and IMEI after flashing KK FW ..
so, i tried to flash another FW but still same ..
also tried to flash latest Modem and BB fixed but IMEI still (/01) ..
so, i went to EFS_Professional app and wrote IMEI from the back to phone ..
now phone has IMEI but Emergency Calls Only ..
IMEI CERT: PASS
what should i do .. ??
also, i have SPT and Z3X boxes and i can write Super IMEI with SPT or write CERT file with Z3X ..
but i don't want to change the IMEI .. i want to restore it's original IMEI.

1- Try re-flashing full stock firmware for your device via Odin. To obtain the correct firmware, use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'.
2- If that doesn't help, try this post.

havent any backups? There is a back imei folder

so, now i have a fully working Note 3 with Super IMEI.

Super IMEI is an unlock method for new models which can't be unlocked by default methods cause it has a new security which boxes can't bypass ..
To unlock your phone ( ex: Note 3 ) you have to wipe EFS first then there is a list with a lot of IMEIs for every phone .. So, you can choose one of them to write to your phone .. Now it's unlocked.
But you can't write back your original IMEI.
So, i used this method for that phone and it fixed the problem.

n9005 "not registred in network"

Guys please help me out...
i got very big problem: i bought phone from hands , with warranty etc. everything were awesome, till i flashed lolipop. when i started to using it , it showed up problems with network, in my city very often i get not signal, and cant registre to network, try again later. I asked in ROM treads noone answered me [its not rom problem i guess]. about 5 days i checked solutions none of roms helped.
i changed sim card, i tought it could be faulty- no
i changed phone number i thought it is faulty- no
i changed carrier , YES it worked, but 3 days later, im registred in network, but signal is very changing, and today i cant register in network[in the same room]
i checked imei *#06# and there were big problem, imei wasnt like on note 3 box , and backcover, it is like 14950000168.... /01 , and i cant find solution, how to get this imei back. i checked with root broswer, efs folder- there is no file .nv_data , or anything that starts with.nv. i checked *#0011#, IMEI BYPASS : PASS from carrier side.
i dont have any backups, nothing. im so afraid that this 300eur phone is only wifi device.:crying:
is there any wait to get back this imei :S ?
guaranteed compensation , if suggested method will work. [PP]
like approvment i can send images of note 3 box/warranty check that its my property, thats not stolen device.
I tryed very much options. If needed some kind of detailed info. just say, ill get it.

Buddy, I am not sure if I understood you very well.
But you can try to go settings - connections - more networks - mobile networks. Then change the Network name from WCDMA/GSM to WCDMA only.
I have done that & it has worked for me. I have done few more things that helped me to resolve the issue. Please let me know if you need any help.

hi mate, thanks for suggestion, but in my situation , there is not so simple.i cant register trought mob.network . because of my imei, and i cant figure it out, how can i get it back. maybe its hard to understand me, sorry for that.
i guess i shoudl try reformat partition , with someone .PIT

Go to Root Explorer and enter in the EFS folder - IMEI folder. Do you have a file called mps_code.dat?

this folder is empty after .PIT install and new stock FW instal.. imei now is null , same as baseband. :S
i got .PIT revocery...

the biggest problem is that, that i have knox 0x1 , and i got no imei. i readed my carrier warranty rules: IF IMEI is deleted or changed the will not repair.
fck.... im so exhausted of finding solutions.
ill try to set up lolipop again, and i hope now it will reset all partitions, and will create nv.data file, and other imei stufff.... finger cross.
stay up tune. will report.

Galaxy A5 2017 SM-A520F - root/IMEI problem/question

Hello all,
Ok let me tell you what happened first.
In March I bought said phone on ebay from a guy which seemed a legit person, 150 or so reviews, a lot of stuff sold, positive reviews etc.
For the past 6 month everything worked fine and i used the phone in the UK on EE (phone is locked to EE) without problems.
on Saturday the phone suddenly has been not geting any signal so I did some invetigations and it turns out the guy who sold the phone is on contract with EE with the phone and did an insurance claim as lost or stolen.
So now the phone has been Blacklisted and i cant use it anymore, to make calls etc on any network.
I tried to get Info from |EE, Ebay etc but with no luck.
I did some research and found that i can change the IMEI number to make the phone work again.
So I must say first up that I dont have a clue from rooting or any modyfing stuff with phones apart from the normal ANdroid things.
So I did some research and after misserably failing to root the phone myself, I got a company "one click root" to succesfully got my phone rooted.
Now I tried the options to change the IMEI number but none of them works:
"ok i cant post outside links:
the 2 versions to change IMEI which i found and tried are : with xposed and imeichanger app, and also one where you have to dial a number which opens radio frequenzy and then another number where you can change IMEI number
this does not work because the xposed framework is not compatible with this phone (yet)
this does not work as i dont have signal and the "call" does not go through.
thats the only thing I found and i thought as a last resort I try my luck here if anyone knows of a different way tho change the IMEI number for this phone apart from the 2 options above before i go and spend another 350£ for a new phone (this time from a shop )

I have the same problem but my IMEI is not blacklisted but my IMEI is 0 after to try to flash back to stock

The box is in Germany not available so I can't buy it and on stock rom the phone have the 0 IMEI too

I take it this means you didn't create that all important backup before modding your device? :silly:
Try downgrading the firmware first then flash the latest updated firmware

Right I have no efs backup and that I have already made but my IMEI is still 0

Hi guys,
I have an issue with My SM-A520F. I bought it to a particular and according to the initial network provider, this person stop to pay his subscription.
So, I'm looking for solution to change IMEI for this model. I think the nv_data.bin is encrypted. Perhaps if I change the nv_data.bin(whith the corresponding nv_data.bin.md5) with another which not blocked in my country it will work. So, if someone want to exchange his nv_data.

Hi Xposed and IMEI changer will not help you. If you want I can explain you how to install it on this phone. But the IMEI changed by IMEI changer with xposed framwork is not the IMEI sent to the network provider. The IMEI changed by this app is used to mask your IMEI to the apps that track you by using the IMEI. So it's just a spoof of the IMEI for apps using IMEI and not a really IMEI change.

imei changing or certication not suported by z3x till now

Anyone found out any solution? I just got screwed on Gumtree. The guy showed me it was on 3 but when I came home it wouldn't register any sim. Imei unknown. Baseband unknown. Tried flashing firmware no luck

Backup the EFS with TWRP then delete the EFS folder. The EFS should rebuild and give a default IMEI when the devices reboots or try deleting NV_DATA.bin, NV_DATA.bin.md5, it should get replaced by NV_DATA.BAK.bin if it's any good.
You can also attempt to Format and remount the EFS partition. It works for some devices.

But in my case i rakon the guy reported the device lost and got blacklisted. Would your method still work?

Guess not in that situation, but you may be able to delete the EFS and enable the default Imei.

NOT REGISTERED ON NETWORK AFTER UPDATING ROM

Hello, everyone! This is my first post on XDA so sorry if it ain't in the right place.
So... What I did is manually updated my S8 to Android 9 through Odin but it isn't receiving signal and it shows that I'm not registered on network. I already tried everything I could but I can't solve this issue. Can someone help me?
Edit: my phone was working perfectly before I ruined it all.
IMEI ok, signal ok, it's not a hardware problem. I've tried configuring APNs and the ROM is the correct for my phone, country and carrier. I just don't know what is wrong. Thanks for all the replies

Try these:
Reconfigure APN's in the cellular data settings.
Check if your phone has IMEI, if you flash-all you may also lose the EFS partition. If so you have to restore your EFS partition backup.
If you flashed the wrong carrier's android, you'll have to flash the correct one. For example your phone is T-Mobile, but you flashed AT&T version.

I think I lost the EFS partition as you say, since I didn't backed up anything (I'm feeling silly). How do I restore my EFS partition? Thanks again!

Check your device IMEI first if it says null or unknown or something similar then you indeed have corrupted EFS.
To check your device IMEI, open dialer then dial *#06#
As for how to fix this, as far as I know without a backup you can't. EFS partition is automatically backed up in any nandroid backup made by TWRP.
You can try XPOSED IMEI changer or if magisk has a similar module.

Okay, this is what I get. I've tried flashing the proper modem for my phone but it just won't work huh. Appreciate the help.

I honestly have no idea man, sorry not being of much help.
All I can help with is provide you with this tool.
On a side note the image you put there is completely useless and it only exposes your IMEI. The barcode also contains info about your IMEI.

hey, sorry if it's a little late, but i'm having the same problem and my imei is perfectly fine, you know how to solve it?

I saw your thread and my guess is that your device is network locked by IMEI, if you contact your network provider they can confirm it for you otherwise try a different sim card and see if it works.

ok i think i missed some important things, this device is refurbished, and i checked the imei and it doesn't match to the device, the imei belongs to a galaxy grand prime, idk if that change something important

perhaps you need to reflash the modem.img on your device, you can get it from here

Did you find a fix for this issue? I've same issue with my S8+. Phone keeps saying there is a Network or SIM Card error on any Lineage ROM (with Android 12 or 13).
